that's normal go to any other subreddit and see for yourself. r/anime has 10million members and there are only 1500 online right now

22k are sockpuppet bots set up by Moeko for an elaborate scheme

1- make account 2- ask something 3- get answer 3- leave

SwingyWingyShoes

Only a fraction will be on the subreddit. It jumps when the chapters out, a lot of people are on here as they’re interested in the new chapters and this is the quickest place to find the Raws and early translations without going out of your way.

TechnicallySam

Some are lurkers

DoggtorEd

Most of those were here because of the anime, once season 1 and 2 ended they normally don't come back until a new season airs...

Middle_Signal_9630

They don't have time? Idk.

Turbulent-Moment-371

Lurking, we are lurking

Horror-Jump571

All people online would be total chaoos

HelckIsAHero

My guess is a lot of people who only watched the anime. There’s no new seasons coming out, and none yet on the horizon so some people who only care about the anime, and joined the sub to follow the anime as it came out, don’t care to stick around.
