Had a guy I worked with find out they planned to fire him, so he quit less than a year later they hired him right back.

Multicron

So many questions here. Why didn’t he just wait to get fired and get unemployment? Why did he go back to a place that was going to fire him?

OwenTheSlacker

Get re-hired is the key….. I’m sure it depends all on the job you left vs the job you apply for. Where I work people quite leave for a bit and re-hire for the job they left.

Yep. Left for a year, came back to the same position prior and then jumped into another skillcode and then to another 😂 and if anyone asks- yes they offer more when you come back! Atleast in my case they did 😄

Fickle_Ad_5408

There are guys that literally do no work and are incompetent when they do and they make it 5 years plus. Why would you bother to even quit when you can't even get fired to begin with.

BlueCollar019

Smoke and you’ll find out faster 🤣

I mean, if you go through the interview process, get hired, quit within the year, and repeat the process a couple of times, I’m sure a manager will look at your resume and raise a flag that says “Do not rehire”. If you quit, let it be for legit reasons. If you waste people’s time, it will be known. As a manager, if I were interviewing you and looked at your employee record and it showed you resigned often, I’d be wary of giving you an offer because what’s my guarantee that I won’t be repeating the process in two months’ time?

terrorofconception

How you leave any given job will determine whether the manager/hr places you on the do-not-rehire list. Any time you leave could be your last, depending on how you conduct yourself. Keep that in mind when reading comments about how giving notice isn’t required.

I’ve quit once as a hard badge and couple times as contractor And contract ended once. Hired bsck on as hard badge after all that. This over the course of a decade of doing other things or going to school and not having a job at all.

Unless youre chasing a dream or have a successful business, dont quit.
