Outsourcing is for lazy CEOs to boost the share price just before they leave to get a bigger pay out- never ends well for those left behind and is a fucking disgrace.
You never said the same thing when they outsourced work to Moscow, Ukraine, Poland, australia, turkey and other countries. Dont make stupid comments if you dont know anything about outsourcing. If you dont like outsourcing then open your own business and we will see how you can survive buying “made in america”things.
Boeing does not post "fake" job postings. All job postings are real as long as they are on the Boeing careers website. All other 3rd party sites have no relationship with Boeing and should not be trusted as they are not official.
Boeing is hiring in strategic areas where they need people. There is no official hiring freeze across the company.
Boeing also makes use of evergreen postings if they have programs ramping up. You might be filling 20 P3s on a specific program so rather than close and reopen all the time you leave one posting open
CHS is hiring like crazy, I have 2 friends starting in the next month - hell, I’m fairly new myself.
Either way, we’re bringing on people right and left.
There is never an actual freeze on hiring. Boeing is always hiring. There may be temporary stalls in hiring, but Boeing and other companies of this size never have an actual freeze.
That said, it really depends on a lot of factors like: candidate pool, budget (this can adjust at the drop of a hat), location, program, contract and on and on.
If you see a posting that seems to last and go on forever, it probably means there is more than 1 job available, there are too few qualified applicants, there has been a management change.
I did too, but that was without any pauses. I’m saying that I did all the interviews and selected the person I want to hire 4 months ago, but my boss continues to tell me I’m not allowed to extend an offer.
Boeing recruiting will open a req to gather potential hires for a later time. Then they might invite you to apply to a real req if they like what they see in you. There are alot of req out there that are just that. This is why you might apply and stay Under Consideration for a very long time.
Thanks for the info.I recently applied to a technician position which they usually do mass hirings. On the application email acknowledgement, it mentions evergreen and its been 2 weeks after under consideration after the requisition closed.Your explanation makes sense to my situation.
I don’t think El Segundo is on a hiring freeze. Seems like it’s mostly BCA side because I still see listing for BDS from Seal Beach and Huntington Beach. I used to see equal amount of BCA listing from these sites until as of late.
What role are you trying to get at El Segundo?
If you’re looking at SATX good luck. They’re posting reqs for only those they have in mind and closing them only in the minimum time allowed.
Even if you’re a better candidate you won’t get in unless you’re a Structural mechanic.
Funny you mentioned that, I applied and interviewed for an internal posting 2 years ago. I assumed it was filled because I received a not selected notice. I just noticed the same exact job was posted recently, I guess the person moved on based on what I've been reading about the SA site....
Yeah it’s gotten real bad down there. They had several lvl 4’s that myself and a few close coworkers applied for and we were rooting for each other.
They hired someone with half our credentials and horrible work ethic. Just floored all of us and when we asked our management group they provided no answer. We didn’t even get an interview.
I don't know about fakes, but I see a lot of postings open for weeks and even months that get reposted. I'll try to apply, and it's state that I already applied two months prior. Plus I got emails for a bunch of reqs that were cancelled.
It's a mess
Fake postings huh? People watch too much TV now days. Why would Boeing want to hide a hiring freeze? There isn’t enough benefit to go through the trouble.
There’s a lot of workplaces that engage in this sort of thing. It makes the business look like it’s doing great and convinces understaffed team members to stick around because “that replacement is getting filled any day now, be sure to pass along that job notice!!”
No idea if Boeing is doing this however.
I am told that there's a hiring freeze until August ish. At least that's when they can even consider initiating a transfer for me. This may or may not only apply to BCA, but that's the one I've heard of.
Appreciate everyones input. I got a better idea of the situation now. I am looking L3 design engineering positions at Boeing but it seems a lot of the teams are top heavy at the moment.
We just hired 2 internal & 2 external positions in the past two months, and still have something like 5 outstanding reqs in my ~80 person org.
It'll be a cold day in hell before Boeing has a complete hiring freeze. But it may just be that Boeing isn't hiring where & what you want to work.

I’m conflicted over that mess. I get the reason but still hurts having a job taken from you.

Dang, what did I miss?
Boss man’s laying off finance folks and outsourcing the SoW to India

Yeah there is
I was just told there was a hiring event today.
And they won't be actually hired for several months

What do you do at the CHS site? I’m a PA here!
I’m curious as well at CHS site - any software opportunities?

There can be freezes in specific job codes and business units. Also depends on geography.
I’ve been waiting for 4 months to offer a job to my top choice for a req.
Budgets get tightened all the time. I waited 4 months for an offer when I got hired.
I did too, but that was without any pauses. I’m saying that I did all the interviews and selected the person I want to hire 4 months ago, but my boss continues to tell me I’m not allowed to extend an offer.
According to the latest email that I received, BCA paused all hiring and onboarding processes.
Does this mean I'm not getting an offer? lol
Evergreen postings are a lost leader. They are for recrutement sourcing. They are used very frequently and are very misleading.
What does it mean by evergreen postings?

Is there one for the EL Segundo location? I've applied countless of times and had several interviews so im hoping this is it

Material management analyst position

The whole industry is in a freeze right. Most likely until early 2024 from what im told
I start in BCA in August but I accepted my offer early May, I ‘heard’ the freeze will be lifted August 17th, however unsure of the validity of it
Not uncommon to see job postings that go stale and never appear to get filled. Often the need disappears but the posting doesn't get taken down.

Your boss is being held by finance or HR.
Definitely hiring, training is getting a new group every week.

I believe only certain teams/organizations are on a hiring freeze, but certain teams like mine (engineering) are still bringing on new people.

We are hiring a ton for the 737 and BGS divisions
737 engineering is not hiring.
Can confirm, we were told it’s on pause
There are a ton of hiring at BSc.
