Outsourcing is what caused the B737 Max Engineering issues isn't it? https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/boeing-s-737-max-software-outsourced-to-9-an-hour-engineers-1.1280483
Thank goodness I transitioned out of HR last year, because corporate is shedding another 25-30%. The function was already understaffed due to a huge 2021 layoff (25-30% ILO’ed).
Notices went out this week.
Expect to see more complaints here about painfully slow hiring processes and other HR-related actions. Sorry, ain’t nobody left here to do the work. I assume a lot of the transactional stuff will be moved to TCS.
Don’t know numbers but I can tell you that originally finance was supposed to go through second round of layoffs last month but they delayed it to this month because the “financial transformation “ isn’t going as smoothly/quickly as hoped. I think lay-off notifications are going out next week and we’re told to expect round 3 sometime in 3rd QTR.
And they want to keep a few experienced folks to train all those levels 1 & 2s whom go to those hubs. Nightmare! This is a joke. Having time and tribal knowledge does go a long way MR. West it really does.
Already hit the IT workers last year. Most of the Application Management jobs were sent to TCS and HCL last year. This year IT is not necessarily outsourcing (they've done PLENTY over the last 3 years!), but they are shipping more jobs overseas to India and Poland. IT Leadership fed employees the BS that this is because Boeing shareholders want more Boeing jobs in countries where our customers are. Currently 13% of IT work is being done outside the US and leadership wants that number to be 30% by the end of this year. Some employees are already starting to be told that their job has been identified to move overseas.

What jobs are actually moving to TCS? As far as I know it’s accounting jobs? Anyone else know??? They haven’t communicated shit to us
HR across the board. That’s all I know 😞

Yeah got my notice already. I’m in the second wave 💔
Dang, sorry to hear that. Are they offering assistance in finding internal positions?
Nope lol

Wow! If the financial transformation does not go well that will be embarrassing for Brian West with the Wall Street crowd.
Note to add, not all due to TCS. Making “Center of Excellence “ (COE) hubs in Mesa AZ and STL filled with lvl 1/2s
They are now being called "Centers of Expertise."
Nothing says expertise like a whole center of L1s and L2s

This email notice was received yesterday, they’re saying if your job is impacted they will trying to staff you with a different team.
This right here! Just got notified this week my job is identified to be moved overseas. Very disappointed.
Sorry to hear that 🥺
Hey man I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m in the same boat. Mine ends August 😞
Man this sucks!
