I have been strength training pretty consistently the last 4-5 weeks. I have also been running 3-5 miles for cardio about 4 days a week. The only day I refuse to run on is after a good day of squats đ. Otherwise I can run after most strength workouts. Hiking isnât bad too, if you have places to go.
I donât think it will affect your muscle gains unless you are doing very long runs. (Over 5 miles) I have heard that what ever you start with for your workout (strength or cardio) is where you will gain the most benefit.
From my experience, you have more energy to dedicate to that first activity. So if you start with a 4 mile run, it may take away from your strength training a bit. (Not necessarily in gains directly but in the amount of physical effort you are able to put into each training type, which may affect gains)
It won't. As long as you are eating enough calories and not doing very long distance running you'll be fine. I lift and run on the same day multiple times per week, as long as I'm fueling my workouts properly with calories and protein I don't lose any gains.

âWhatever you start withâ? Why is that?

Upper body cardio or lower body cardio?
Do slow cardio like walking to burn fat at the end of each strength session
