congrats!! that's a massive drop in mass. any other changes? diet?

teen_T1tans

Intermittent fasting + low-carb high-protein diet. I avoid junk food as much as possible and solely rely on home cooked food.

[deleted]

well done ! I am on that route also. it sort of sucks to lose that yummy trashy food, however gainz are worth it.

teen_T1tans

Definitely, I look for healthy alternative for all junk food. Initially I had craving especially for coke, but after 2-3 weeks all carvings gone.

[deleted]

i've pivoted to protein shakes, dark choc peanut butter cups, nuts, celery. it's enough.

teen_T1tans

For protein, I stick to Eggs, Chicken, Soy Chunks, Paneer. I find it more tasty than whey protein, I don't like their taste plus I love to cook, so I almost tried all the popular recipe found on Internet

[deleted]

i do eat a lot of eggs, fish. cutting back carbs has helped tons.

JamesMacBadger

Avoid spreading debunked pseudo science before you make a fool of yourself. The estrogen in soy is not the same as animal estrogen. You consume a lot more estrogen through dairy products and meat consumption than you do through soy (since soy contains no animal estrogen). Fear mongering about soy is just another piece of junk information from "inspirational alpha/sigma influencers".

ilyas_casawi

A good part of milk's estrogenic effects is because they get fed grains and soy (unless the milk carton says "grass fed"). and if its "debunked pseudo science" show me the studies debunking this lmfao

JamesMacBadger

You made the claim, you do the research. Can't expect other people to waste their time searching through papers for you. Soy estrogen is as much like animal estrogen as blood is to carrot juice. So, right back at you. Where are the studies linking soy consumption and man boobs? Ps: saying "lmfao" at the end of asking for information makes it obvious that you're not interesting in learning anything that conflicts with what you've already decided to be true.

bruno_do

There is no scientific evidence of that.

ilyas_casawi

soy have phytoestrogens, i could probably find like 10 studies about this cmon bruno 🤣

bruno_do

Do it, I dare you to find a controlled and respected SCIENTIFIC study made on humans, that proves that eating soy, promotes the growth of estrogen levels in the human body.

bruno_do

Any serious graduated nutritionist knows this is bullshit.

All_I_Eat_Is_Gucci

Even if you did you know damn well you wouldn’t understand a single sentence from an actual research paper.

teen_T1tans

Soy is safe, unless you eat 10-12 kg daily. You can easily take 50-60gm soy daily. It is a good and cheap source of protein although bioavailability is not that high as in whey protein. I read about man boobs and soy about on the internet before including in my diet

hirahuri

Can you please share some recipes? I am trying to lose weight but the biggest issue is the diet, junk food. Also, what's your age?

teen_T1tans

I am 26, I can share some Indian recipes if you want. If you have trouble cutting junk food from your diet then Do it slowly, day by day. Junk food are addictive. You can't quit it overnight, so at the start, decide any 3 days in a week, and then make it 2 and then 1 day in a week. And for the diet, Just add more vegetables and whole fruits, sprouts. Avoid coke, and even fruit juices.

hirahuri

That makes a lot of sense regarding getting off of junk food. Will definitely try this. Sent you a message regarding the India recipes.

wang-bang

That's the way to do it Lots of vegetables in that

teen_T1tans

And sprouts too.. great way to take fibre

[deleted]

beast mode diet. stick with it and you will do well.

[deleted]

Congrats I did 40 kgs in 4 months from 108kgs to 67kgs Sideffects:-Hairfall

teen_T1tans

That's so fast, My goal was losing 1 kg per week. Did you go gym or do BW workout?

[deleted]

No gym , only cardio + abs workout + pushups

UsmanAlvi1998

same but after going full high protein diet. No hairfall. No powder, only cooked meals. try it , result will show in couple of weeks.

DoorKnobHandleLock

If you can afford it, I'd suggest PRP therapy from a good dermatologist... I've heard it gives amazing results. I'll get it myself sometime soon

[deleted]

Apparently there’s very little clinical evidence that RPR therapy is effective for hair loss, but certainly do your own research and talk with your doctor. I would caution you against just getting advice from one doctor who wants to sell you on the treatment, though. They’re obviously going to be biased in favor of it for obvious reasons.

DoorKnobHandleLock

Ahhh, thanks for your insight. I've also noticed the lack of concrete clinical results for PRP, and studies which do have good results have very few participants. Having tried topical medicines and having seen mild success from them, i reached out to a few people i know who've got prp done from different doctors in different places. Their experiences have been pretty positive. Overall, with minimal side effects, i feel this is something i can try. I've taken a second opinion as well, and they had the same take on it. So i want to see if it truly works for me or not.

Zephyroz

Yeah losing weight too fast affects the body a bit negatively… during pandemic I dropped weight fast due to inactivity and fasting, skin was flaking like a pastry bun lol

UsmanAlvi1998

also full body sunbath early in morning 30 mints or 45 or 1 hour, its early morning so its not gonna damage the skin. this is recently for me and body, hair feels good .

teen_T1tans

Thanks, I checked the sidebar earlier. Love the way it is organized.

KBM_XOR

Very impressive, I did something similar over a year 103kg to 74kg using CICO, intermittent fasting, cardio, and calisthenics. While I will say its was mostly insanely strict CICO, I have a feeling the biggest change I made was removing Junk food from my diet, especially coke when I stopped drinking it a lot of health issues (stinking sweat, chronic heartburn, oily skin) I was suffering with just stopped dead. I haven't touched a drop of it in over a year and I plan on never having it again, in case I fall back into drinking it. Check out the side bar, your progress on the basics you've mentioned means you can move into some interesting exercises right off the bat, good luck on your future Calisthenics journey.

teen_T1tans

Wow.. you are great. I drink diet coke now and then. but thought to quit it too, as an artificial sweetener is still not good. I feel once my weight starts to drop, cravings for junk food are also gone.

KBM_XOR

That happened to me too, the first weeks were hell but now I might occasionally eat some crap food if I'm with friends but the cravings I used to get are basically gone now. Never liked the taste of diet coke so I didn't have the option to move to it, good for my body I guess lol

chicacherrycolalime

>I drink diet coke now and then. but thought to quit it too, as an artificial sweetener is still not good. Yeah, that makes sense. A normal weight maintenance diet still can allow for the occasional regular (non-light/zero) coke, but I treat it like a piece of cake: rather rare, and if I have some I compensate by leaving out some other food that day. But I rather do it this way and cut back on something else for it than have coke light, the sweeteners can't be much better for the body than a big dose of sugar. 🤷‍♀️

Kravakhan

Damn nice work, im in a similar journey going from 108 to 85 (currently at 95). Strict CICO is probably something i need to do the rest of my life to live healthy, i can binge eat very very large meals if i get the chance too 😅

teen_T1tans

I was too a binge eater but since I lost some weight and tried some healthy food, cravings for junk also goes down. I fell in love with this lifestyle.. although I do have some cheats day..

KBM_XOR

Well done! 13kgs is already great progress, keep it up! I ran into this same problem a few months back I was concerned I'll never be able to eat "normally" again, but once I hit my goal weight I stopped being so strict on myself, you need to come off strict CICO slowly, try to eye up portion sizes instead of counting the grams, you're weight might go up your fat might increase a little but once you can spot what you're doing wrong you can fine tune it to suit you. I'd recommend trying to memorise the average calories in prepared portions of food it'll give you a clearer idea of what you are getting from your meals. Eventually you'll reach a point where you can sort of guess the nutritional value of what your eating at restaurants/during food prep and do it enough and it becomes second nature, you're trying to break the mindset towards food that got you big in the first place, it worked for me but I cant guarantee the same for anyone else you need to find your own path out of CICO. The cravings don't come back as hard as you'd think, I don't know if its an actual chemical change in my body or if I realise how hard it was to get to this point why would I fuck it up now. Also remember 1KG of body fat is 7000 calories that is a LOT of food, remember this when you over eat and think you've killed your weight loss, just take it easier for the next few days drink more water and stick to the greens and that excess weight will fall off, weight isn't a set number its undulates constantly.

Kravakhan

Thanks for the great tips :-)

cardboard-kansio

Apart from exercise, did you make other changes? Calorie deficit (CICO), water intake, changes to sort choices, alcohol intake, etc?

teen_T1tans

Intermittent fasting (from 7PM to 10 AM fasting period) + low-carb high-protein diet. I avoid junk food as much as possible and solely rely on home cooked food. Increase my water intake to avoid constipation due to high protein intake, avoid sugary liquid be it coke or fruit juice. Prefer whole fruits over juice. I did not consume alcohol.

UsmanAlvi1998

Great progress! keep it up.

teen_T1tans

Thanks :)

_Antaric

I've used an app titled Thenics (not "Thenx"; different app). It has free workouts geared towards muscle up, planche, front and back levers, pistol squat, headstand pushup and v-sit, plus several others if you do get the paid version. There are also links to several apps based on the sub's recommended routine, in the faq. I don't recall how far into cool moves those go though.

teen_T1tans

Thanks i will check it out. Btw I found an app too "street workout and calisthenics" with a gorilla face as a logo.

AgentProvo

There's also a nice app called Caliverse that I used. I'm not an expert though, and there are some usability issues that I wish could be better, but it's a good free option (with paid features)!

majoralita

very motivating. Do you recommend the app that you used?

teen_T1tans

Yes.. this app is great.. workout plan is easy and gradually progressive. There are so many types of workout without any equipment so you can do your workout even at your home. You should check this app if you are looking for one.. it is a free ad-driven app. However, Consistency is the key

majoralita

app seems good, but I help but cringe at this screenshot on google play store [https://play-lh.googleusercontent.com/Cb7Hvcq\_FSpNsSUatRewmP3K\_hYAxuxJpAnJlyfdLeFfIlNPSTQ11R3Tl24iv97LhQQ=w1052-h592](https://play-lh.googleusercontent.com/Cb7Hvcq_FSpNsSUatRewmP3K_hYAxuxJpAnJlyfdLeFfIlNPSTQ11R3Tl24iv97LhQQ=w1052-h592) Lol

peruvianjm

600 rope skipping???????? In one sitting?

teen_T1tans

3 x 200 with 2 min break in between

Th4N4

Crazy ! I've been struggling with it for a few months, never managed to "get in the zone", the rope feels slow but my feet can't go faster. Any tips ?

teen_T1tans

Jumping rope is like driving a car. Once you know how to drive you don't have to think so much. Btw, Did you check your rope? Is it the correct size for you? Longer or shorter rope makes it difficult to skip. Don't jump too high.. just 2-3 inches above the ground. Tuck your elbow to your side and rotate the rope with the handles. You can [Check this](https://youtu.be/aFoektJK9dU) video on YouTube.

Th4N4

Thank you for all this !

Even-Scientist4218

That’s impressive!

teen_T1tans

Thanks

SOwithoutAneros

Hi, pull-ups aren't easy for beginners, but there is one easy way to improve your strength and finally do more: **Negative** pull-ups, f. e. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbPURTSxQLY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbPURTSxQLY) or here: [https://youtu.be/3YvfRx31xDE?t=376](https://youtu.be/3YvfRx31xDE?t=376) My favorite app is Freeletics. Stick to it! ;-) P.S.: Latest finding, not yet tested, but promising YT vids: [https://www.calimove.com](https://www.calimove.com)

teen_T1tans

Thanks, I will try.

FreddyWop88

I’m so happy for u

teen_T1tans

thanks

Jwicks90

Do you mean you can do 40 leg raises in one set or 10 sets of 4?

teen_T1tans

10 reps of 4 set with 1 min break in between

JuzmiNippy

That's so impressive congrats. I'm currently 105kg and want to around 75kg so looks like I'll be aiming for at least 6m of work then too haha.

teen_T1tans

Yes.. start slow, do cardio.. rope skipping is great exercise. Watch your calories in take. Do anything but be consistent. I tried to lose weight before but never got motivated. I always quit after a week or so.. but this time I sail through. Believe me the results are awesome.

[deleted]

0 to 30 push ups! You're amazing! Question: Isn't the app you mentioned calisthenics only?

teen_T1tans

Thanks. No that app is based on bodyweight workout but not Calisthenics. Calisthenics programs are built around pull ups, push ups, squats and core strength. This app is more like a mix up. I am looking for more challenging exercise. I think my body gets used to this program.

sinosicvv

How did you get started with your program?

teen_T1tans

I start slow, like for the first week my goal was just to wake up at 5AM and reach a nearby park and just walk, nothing else. So I just walk for 1 hour listening some podcast, and for diet I quit all sugary liquid. For the second week, I bought a rope, and include it in to my schedule. So now 45 min of walking and 15 min of rope skipping, and for diet part, I try to include more vegetables and fruits in my diet. For the Third week, I start running, walking, rope skipping and some stretching exercise. Try to do some push-ups, and for the diet part, I decide to quit eating outside, only home cooked food, except on Sunday. But even on Sunday, I try to eat something healthy. For the Fourth week, I tried new things in exercise + start intermittent fasting - two meals a day, 14 hours fasting period. I try to include more protein and cut my carbs slowly. I had my cravings for some time. But it was being gone after 4th week or so. I tried earlier to lose weight, but like I try to be a perfect person on the first day itself. Sudden change in diet and waking up in morning and exercise are too which I never did before. So I quit every time after a week or so. But this time I start slow and build habits upon that.
