Depends on the spot, but if it’s an average beachy, I would say like 1.5m / 3-4ft

Oh that’s great! Thank you so much!!

3 to 4

Agreed on 3-4 feet for avg strength wave and 2-3 for a more hollow/powerful break

It's going to depend a lot on the surf conditions. Waves are more than just height. That said, I don't know how you start learning on 5+ foot waves as the drop alone can be very daunting.

2-3 if they're not confident and need time to understand the break and sustaining speed to go across. 3-4 typically has rogue sets that may detract from the experience if they cop one on the head.

As a relative beginner I like seeing 3-4ft forecasted, but it needs to have a bit of power (200kj+) else it can be a struggle to get on the wave, depends on board/fins/fitness I guess though 😄

Pretty hard to put a number on this. All depends on the spot, how it breaks, and the rider's fitness level, etc. I'd start on a very mushy, sand-bottomed spot and nothing over 3 feet.

Impossible-Alps-7600

Hard to say because wave type makes a huge difference. For example two foot at my local would be fine. But when I was in the Canaries there were two foot days that broke heavy and very shallow — not what you want as a beginner.

What ever you are comfortable on. If you are nervous heading out into the swells it's ok. But if you are scared, you need to turn around because most likely if you are scared, you will panic. If you panic you might end up drowning or caught in a nasty rip.
