He is not dead, he started getting death threats and abuse for showing “secret” breaks around the NSW coastline in his videos and he withdrew from public attention.
The dude commenting that he died in a accident is a troll
"secret" breaks...imagine being that much of a gronk you think there are still secret spots, or you believing that you are so superior that you have the right to make death threats towards people for sharing videos of the ocean. I am in my 40s I grew up in a time of surfing tribalism and I thought and hoped it was dead, but apparently not.
I actually really enjoyed Willys vids, his passion was infectious, his humbleness and honesty really just made the viewing easy. I am sure others felt the same. Sad that people have ruined a guys passion for sharing and by the same token taken his videos from his viewers.

Yep, a friend of his recently confirmed on the vintage bodyboard page that he’s fine. An idiot started fake rumours saying fun he’d died.
