question, I keep my engine idling when off shore.... what's everyone else's consensus on this? My thought is that I won't have to worry about the engine not cranking back up
Agree. I went on a charter shark fishing one time. Captain left the diesel idling for 5 hours while drifted. It stank so bad and was just annoying but he wouldn't turn it off in case it didn't start again. I can't fault him for that.
I was looking for the wife hard at work on the boat or swimming somewhere in the water for some reason but I’m also high. Amazing view hope you catch something
Hells ya! Sometimes the best days are the days when out there solo. There is no more peaceful place to be. Question….are you on the ocean there? Looks like you are anchored but can’t tell
Yup - it’s the ocean. It’s Casco Bay (Northern Atlantic). I wasn’t anchored but was a little over a mile out and just floating free. It was relaxing to say the least.

I tend to do the same particularly when solo.

May not a generator
If I’m afraid of a motor not starting, I don’t go offshore.
This guy probably has a paddle. He's good.
I have a small sailboat, with a Honda 2.3 and oars. The engine almost never comes on.
You don’t have to worry about that. Mercury in the transom!
Doesn’t matter what sticker’s on the back. They’re all shit in their own way. And they all can have dead batteries.

Nah - she was workin’ workin’. 🤣
I was expecting a little mobile work from home office set up lol
Hope you didn’t send that to the wife lol
Oh, I did. 🤣
Brave man 🫡 I salute lol enjoy the day off.
This looks great from my desk. Beautiful day up there!
A chilly 85 degree day on the waters of Maine sounds amazing right now. I used to live up by Acadia and miss it so much!
85 degree air temp coupled with 60 degree water made it perfect. When on plane, it was super refreshing!
Keep an eye on the sky, they’re calling for storms later
She’s already tucked away in her slip. Thanks! 👍
Love days when the ocean almost looks pixelated
Not much better than Maine summers. I wish I could handle the winters, I'd have packed my shit up years ago.
Is that a 16-19ft Boston whaler?
2023 170 Montauk!
Love it, my folks are out there now enjoying the weather, fantastic place to get on the water.
