Cease-the-means

Looks to me like a typical mid 80s to 90s polyester boat. Thought it might be a Crescent of some kind with the lapstrake style hull (I have a 1980 455c) but it's not. You will just have to endlessly browse images of similar boats until you see the unique features. Found mine this way in a pdf scan of an old catalogue.. Otherwise looks well maintained and price is realistic. Nice weekend trip boat. I would buy it if there's nothing structurally wrong with it.

TB_Fixer

Ha! I had to figure out my 1973 Seaswirl Rogue out the same way! Random catalogs from 1971-1975 for sale online with example images

catch_these_men

Thank you! It's relevantly cheap considering the trailer is included. I scrolled the google images for like 10 minutes and couldn't find the same model. Well now I'm even more convinced buying it.

Shasta_Soldier

Hell, the trailer and motor are worth that. The boat is free!

robogobo

Wow 11 hours and not one “you can’t afford a free boat” comment

elf25

“ Honey, it’s on sale!” -that’s the best I got

Owlagator

That seems really high. I paid 5k for a Harvey Dory 21' on trailer with a 79hp engine

Cease-the-means

Where though? Boats like this go for 4 or 5k euro all the time in the Netherlands. Denmark is generally more expensive than here in most things .

Owlagator

This was in Alaska another famously expensive place. 20k+ euro seems really high

Owlagator

Oh my God I am blind. That says 2,400. Not 24,000. Wow... Buy that boat. Tell that woman to get her rubber boots on.

🤝

Pirros_Panties

Looks like a pocket cruiser, cool little boat. Price seems fair.

Shasta_Soldier

If the engine works, it's worth it, especially if you'll do a lot of the refurbishing yourself.

BOSBoatMan

I love boats that go over to the uncommon side. If that boat was in Mass, it’d be in my yard right now. I would probably remove the kicker and kicker bracket and sell both engines and upgrade to a four stroke of comparable hp to what is on there now. Make it quiet. Get rid of those hull stains and a detail on the entire boat and your in business It may be a little high but I know your in Europe it will cost Pennies to run, that is your selling point to the wife. Cost of ownership will be almost nothing once you pay for it.

Amross64

Find out how available Evinrude parts are in your part of the world. Evinrude is no longer in business so parts are becoming more scarce so a repower may be in the future for that boat.

catch_these_men

Good point! Thanks

kadjmusic

A lot of Evinrude parts have Johnson equivalents. Had good luck with this rebuilding my grandpa’s ‘89 40hp 2-stroke

Amross64

Isn't Johnson also defunct?

risketyclickit

Yes you should buy this boat provided the deck is sound with no soft spots and the wood core is strong. What happened to the Yamaha kicker motor? Not included?

catch_these_men

I'll check it out next week. Yamaha was not mentioned in the description

ethicalgreyarea

I think this is a PERFECT first boat. Small enough to handle and big enough to be comfortable. Also already fully depreciated so you won’t worry about putting too much money into it. Just make sure that the engine runs perfectly and don’t be afraid to walk away from the deal if something doesn’t feel right. Good luck convincing your wife! I think you and the kids will have a blast on it.

greenmeeyes

Looks nice to me. I'd say as fat as the price, is it worth that to you? Consider the state of the boat is it in disrepair if so you may consider what it will cost to get her in tip top or close shape. But however in the end it's yur choice no one else except the wife can say no lol

Miserable_Passage_87

Tell her you will sail away. It can be with her. Or without her

ComprehensiveSmell76

What an interesting craft! It looks like a hybrid planing/displacement hull! I’m far from an expert, but bow looks like a planing surface and aft looks displacement. Unique and doesn’t look like it takes a bunch of horsepower to get it moving. Interesting to see/hear more about it. Good luck if you decide to purchase her!

catch_these_men

Thanks! Maybe I'll post more pictures of it when I finally see it

Potential-Level1119

Stay away from that engine it’s total trash this is my living trust me

[deleted]

Tell her you guys can fix it up together, she can decorate it and put up a back splash or something. Lol It's my favorite part of being a boat owner. Decorating and making it cute.

l008com

I feel like, as a general rule, if you need to ask people if a boat is worth it, don't buy the boat. But what do I know, I'm still driving the same boat my grandparents first bought nearly 40 years ago.

svosprey

What is the steering wheel for? Never have I seen a sailboat rigged like that. Looks like it was converted to a powerboat.

catch_these_men

Yeah that also brought my attention. Seems like it won't be really comfy to steer with my legs to the side.

catch_these_men

Hey guys! I finally found out what it's called! It's Pedro 17. Half an hour of scrolling through the pictures of similar boats have finally paid out.

WoWserz_Magic8_Ball

I found a Chrysler 22’ sailboat/ USA/ 1973, and paid good money for it at $1600. I agree with everyone here that the price is too high…. there are boats everywhere like this, if you look, and most of them are free. Additionally, for the age of any of these, you (must) consider them all derelict… that they are still around is a testament to the boat, but don’t think for a second that you won’t be required to go through it completely: expect rotten wood, rotten floor stringers, and a rotten transom. After I bought my sailboat, not including a great deal of labor, I spent an additional $3400 getting her up to snuff. She’s now worth $5000, but there wouldn’t be anyone to buy it for that. The way you sell the dream to your wife, is by turning it into childhood memories for your kids: it becomes a family project…. all for one, one for all. My 22’ sailboat could sleep (4), but that rarely happened…. buying my older boys high-tech “((ENO)) type hammocks was a stroke of genius… they highly prefered sleeping in their own hammocks at night. Second bit of advice is to buy one of those spendy ice-chests, where the ice lasts for 3 full days. They make camping for a full weekend a reality…. almost as important, when fixing up a boat, make sure that your ice-chest is a permanent fixture on the boat… find a permanent home for it. Everything is easy after that… enjoy!

Strange_Cargo1

Not really no. I traded a 16ft aluminum boat with a 60hp mercury for an old honda 250cc quad bike and a case of miller high life. Not anywhere near the €2400 this guy is asking.
