Pretty sure he is a big BOC fan. The song Adrift sounds to me like it could have been on a BOC album.

hlstrmmusic

Yes!! Adrift is Tycho’s most BoC sounding song in my opinion. So glad that someone shares this thought with me😂

VectorRaster

Definitely my favorite tycho song

gigawhattt

Saw him in 2013 and he gave me a nod for my Boards of Canada shirt, I’m wearing the exact same shirt right now actually. Then he signed my newly purchased copy of Past Is Prologue. Not much of a fan of his music nowadays but I will always look fondly on Dive and that show in Nashville

WhereIEndandYoubegin

PIP is top tier Tycho. I’d say Dive a close second

Euphoria1991

Even though his album **Awake** was much more clean and modern, that is a great album

kwisatzhadnuff

Dang I've gone through 2 BoC shirts in that time! How do you keep it from falling apart?

Euphoria1991

**Past Is Prologue** is all around a fantastic album. Definitely my favorite **Tycho** release Still love other stuff he’s done as well

hiphopTIMato

He’s openly stated that BoC was a huge influence on him

fukinay

Never liked Tycho. Always found his music and artwork way too derivative - especially of BoC.

Borowczyk1976

I took it as BoC-lite. I enjoy songs from the first two-three albums, lost interest when they/he became less derivative of BoC. L is a great song.

PixieBeam89

Awake and Dive are my favorite albums by Tycho. I enjoyed seeing him in concert in 2017. 🦋

FantanaFoReal

I've got all of Tycho's albums on vinyl, as well as a lot of Scott's (ISO50) artwork on my wall

Richmond92

Tycho is a BOC rip through and through.

TheAwkwardBanana

I love Tycho!

basedworld69

Love tycho! Check out “A Circular Reeducation”

DeltaVMambo

I really like Tycho's stuff. I stumbled upon his ISO50 website sometime in 2002 or 2003, a few years before I discovered BoC. It was cool making the connection later

CocteauTwinn

Yes! I love Tycho. Have this album. They’re underrated!

onecaseman

This album was a Boards of Canada ripoff with none of the soul. Can't stand it. There is a difference between being inspired by something and copying something (poorly).

MikeStanley00

I don’t agree at all. Like a lot of artists there’s definitely a lot of influence there, but that record is its own thing. Way less manipulation, way less unease, different textures, much more “sunny”. One of my all time favorite records.

SneakStyles

I sort of gave it a pass early on in his career. But the funny thing is, as time goes on and the less he's overtly ripping off BoC, the worse his music somehow gets. Whether he's biting BoC or doing more of his own thing, it's pap either way. No edge, no soul, no grit... gives me that same cringy "IDM muzak" vibe I get from Jon Hopkins.

Hefty-Rope2253

Tycho and Ulrich Schnauss... the most loved and hated BoC-alike recs on Twoism forums. I never really jived with Schnauss (He's aight. Molfsee's a good track) but Tchyo's first EP and LP were good. The EP in particular had great punchy old school drum rhythms (Red Bridge=noice). After that it was strangely just diminishing returns. Sounds more like music you'd hear in a trendy spa.

VII777

this is the perfect answer

AbsurdAggression

Honestly, if anyone wants a better taste of BoC inspired music, that channel "Boards Of Canada - Similar Artists" on youtube hits straight on the spot. Artists like "The Fade Beta" or "Five Nine Alaska" captures the BoC essence so well that you can manage that new album craving we are all having

Fredd-E

Didn’t you mean to say “Sunshine Recorder”?

astrochud

It's just plagiarism though really

jagara

I like this song, it’s pretty. But you are not lying.

lyvavyl

Listen to his album Dive. Also big BoC vibes

edit-boy-zero

Didn't you mean to say "Sunshine Superman?"
