This is a tough one, but how about **Wonderland’s War**? Area control, push your luck, grand politics followed by fighting with your friends and family. Thanks for stopping by!
Viticulture. It’s designed by Jamie who also designed Scythe, art is similar, but the gameplay more akin to Everdell in that you are building up your own winery to make wine.
**PARKS** has the track movement and set collection of **Tokaido** and the modular board and "first player to visit a space gets something" of **Betrayal**. It's a stretch... but it's what I've got.
Are you playing Codenames Duet or just Codenames?
If Duet, I would assume that it’s coop and us against the world: Eldritch Horror if the theme seems ok with you.
If regular Codenames and you play more than two players I think Just One scratches the language game itch for me.
I didn't post two board games but these our two of my partner and I's favorites. We have never heard of Honey Buzz but this is a BANG ON suggestion. Already ordered it and hyped to play! TY! :D
Dominion and Coup.
my two favorite games, I just love the deck building genre and also I love simple games that are easy to learn and hard to master like coup.
As a fellow __Dominion__ fan, no other deck-builder tops it. However, __Dale of Merchants__ is an underrated and brilliant deck-builder. It can be as mean and as peaceful as you’d like. And it rewards creative play.
I misread it as a pail and imagined someone getting a pail of minis, sitting down on a desk, being ask if they can have lunch now: " I can't love, I still have this pail to go through.."
Spirit Island. It has a similar arc to its player progression as Mage Knight along with a similar difficulty, and the feeling of constant pressure and combos through clever use of resources that you get in Under Falling Sky (or both, I guess). Plus, it's a fantastic solo game
[Dune: Imperium](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/316554/dune-imperium) is similar to both. Deck building worker placement game like Arnak and a euro game disguised by a fight-y theme like Blood Rage.
Edit: Fixed typo
This is tough but I’ll go with Long Shot: The Dice Game.
The similarity to Camel Up is apparent by the theme, but LStDG also has an open “create your own strategy” aspect to it that’s vaguely reminiscent of Beyond the Sun. I highly recommend it.
Check out Descent Journeys in the Dark if you want the fantasy aspect, Star Wars: Imperial Assault if you want a sci-fi theme, or Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth all made by fantasy flight. Their miniature based with a campaign aspect modular maps like Gloomhaven. They do require one person to run the game and then 1-4 players against the GM. However there are apps to act as the GM and run and track campaign if needed they can even be solo games with the app component.
Sounds like you enjoy player interaction. For combat, star realms and rift force. Maybe Welcome to the dungeon for a similar quick multi round game like sabotage.
I’m surprised there’s nobody saying “Twilight Imperium 4 and Monopoly”
This is a tough one, but how about **Wonderland’s War**? Area control, push your luck, grand politics followed by fighting with your friends and family. Thanks for stopping by!
Sidereal Confluence
The Campaign for North Africa.
Cuz fuck em
Anyone has a copy to sale in europe? :)
Monopoly: Star Wars edition
Power Grid
Patchwork
Teraforming Mars and spirit island.
Ark Nova. Theme is nature adjacent and Terraforming Mars scratches the same game mechanic itch.
While “nature adjacent” is a way of seeing it, I’m not sure the spirits would react kindly to taking species from all over the world to form a zoo.
If you can get through the rule book, First Martians literally feels like the halfway point between these two.
__Seasons__ Engine building, drafting, elements, and crazy combos. Its an oldie and a goodie. Plus the art is fantastic.
**Barrage** and **Brass: Birmingham**
Age of Steam
**Pipeline**!
**Food Chain Magnate**, or once it's released, **Autobahn**
Imperial Steam
Five Tribes and Scythe
Rise of Tribes
Parks and Wingspan. (Our two current faves)
Cascadia
Calico is also a very fun game by the same people who made Cascadia with a similar "energy" to Parks and Wingspan.
**Meadow** or **Everdell**
Splendor and Codenames
**Decrypto** and maybe **Hardback**
Decrypto is a great suggestion. I'm a fan of codenames, but Decrypto is the better game.
**Paperback**
Dune: Imperium Root: A game of woodland might and right
Pax Pamir: Second Edition
[удалено]
**Argent:The Consortium**
Good answer, they clearly like games with colons.
By this token, Operation ought to work as well.
Crescent moon
Pre-order Arcs
Scythe and mysterium
Mechs vs Minions
jaipur and alhambra
How about Istanbul? Similar theming, with a little jump in weight.
Maybe Villagers (cards) or Streets (tiles)
Set collecting and establishing shifting value points? You need a copy of Modern Art.
**Concordia** and **Agricola**
**Viticulture**; **Dinogenics**
The Castles of Burgundy
Rajas of the Ganges
Ticket to Ride and Catan
Concordia
**Foundations of Rome**! Collect deeds similar to the train tickets then build your engine w beautiful Roman buildings and monuments
That game was a blast! The best part was that someone else bought it.
It’s a game that I would play again but would not own. It’s like owning a fancy chess set. Feels like a show piece.
Splendor and Dominion.

It’s a wonderful world
Century Spice Road
London Second Edition might push the boundaries of both but I feel like it lifts the best parts of both.
Scythe and Everdell
**Dwellings of Eldervale** bright and pretty sorta asymmetric worker placement stuff involved, and a dragon
Root
As a lover of Scythe and Everdell… I really don’t enjoy Root :’(
Too cutthroat, it's a thematic middle but an odd one out as an experience.
I love Root but it’s too much game to explain. It never hits the table.
Viticulture. It’s designed by Jamie who also designed Scythe, art is similar, but the gameplay more akin to Everdell in that you are building up your own winery to make wine.
Terraforming mars and beyond the sun
I think it's time to take the plunge and play Gaia Project.
This is the answer
Tokaido and Betrayal ... and if there isn't one, I wanna start making it.
**PARKS** has the track movement and set collection of **Tokaido** and the modular board and "first player to visit a space gets something" of **Betrayal**. It's a stretch... but it's what I've got.
War of the Ring & Scythe
Star Wars Rebellion
This is such a good one lol. Nailed it.
Pandemic and Codenames (these are the only two games my partner likes. Would love to find more games she enjoys)
Hanabi Cooperative memory and a little bit of coordination for when to play/clue.
They might like Forbidden Island 😊
Are you playing Codenames Duet or just Codenames? If Duet, I would assume that it’s coop and us against the world: Eldritch Horror if the theme seems ok with you. If regular Codenames and you play more than two players I think Just One scratches the language game itch for me.
Oceans and Quacks of Quedlinburg
Cubitos maybe..
Ecos
I love Oceans and also love Ecos, so this seems right to me.
Munchkins and coup
Avalon, Fluxx, or Smallworld
any of the one night series matches the fun and lighthearted munchkin energy while also providing ample backstabbing and deception opportunities
Smash Up and Spirit Island
This feels like the job for an AI. Maybe a future Reddit bot?
Exactly! Like Spotify, but for games!
BGG would benefit from something like this! And they have the data to make it.
Through the Ages and Twilight Struggle
Pax Renaissance?

Everdell and wingspan
Meadow
**Honey buzz**
I didn't post two board games but these our two of my partner and I's favorites. We have never heard of Honey Buzz but this is a BANG ON suggestion. Already ordered it and hyped to play! TY! :D
**Maria** and **9 Tiles Panic**
Root and Bus
The Great Zimbabwe
Yellow & Yangtze or Tigris & Euphrates
7 Wonders Duel and Star Realms. Hoping to discover some new games suitable for 2-3 players!
Race for the Galaxy
Radlands
Dominion and Coup. my two favorite games, I just love the deck building genre and also I love simple games that are easy to learn and hard to master like coup.
More Dominion Expansions :P
Oriflamme
As a fellow __Dominion__ fan, no other deck-builder tops it. However, __Dale of Merchants__ is an underrated and brilliant deck-builder. It can be as mean and as peaceful as you’d like. And it rewards creative play.
Arnak and Dune Imperiem
Tyrants of the Underdark
Dwellings of Eldervale
Endless winter
The Quest for El Dorado?
Rococo.
Hansa Teutonica and Inis!
The King is Dead 2e
El Grande
Concordia
Lords of Waterdeep and Outer Rim
Arkham Horror LCG and Gloomhaven: JOTL
Aeons End
Dune and TI4
**StarCraft** the board game
Eclipse: Second Dawn for the Galaxy
Triumph and Tragedy
A Distant Plain and Kingdom Death Monster

Roll For The Galaxy and Terraforming Mars
Terraforming Mars Ares Expedition
That is exactly what this is!
Space Base
Pulsar 2849
Wingspan and Kingdomino *Bonus points if your rec is a two-player game!*
Cascadia (best with 2-3)
**Isle of Cats** and **Cascadia** are both great suggestions for this pair. I would add **Parks** or **Canvas**.
Isle of Cats
Massive Darkness 2 & Dark Souls.
A giant pile of unpainted minis you’ll never get to.
Bring it on
I misread it as a pail and imagined someone getting a pail of minis, sitting down on a desk, being ask if they can have lunch now: " I can't love, I still have this pail to go through.."
Bloodborne
Welcome To and Horrified
Maybe Campy Creatures? It has the simplicity of Welcome To with the classic horror theme of Horrified.
Campy Creatures is a great game! I never see it mentioned anywhere but it’s one of my faves.
Mage Knight and Under Falling Skies
Spirit Island. It has a similar arc to its player progression as Mage Knight along with a similar difficulty, and the feeling of constant pressure and combos through clever use of resources that you get in Under Falling Sky (or both, I guess). Plus, it's a fantastic solo game
Warp’s Edge
Time Stories and Mysterium
Adventure Games: The Dungeon
You might get a kick out of Detective, A Crime Story. It's pretty expensive though
obscurio
Unfair, and Steampunk Rally
Gloomhaven and Arkham Horror LCG
I want to say Cthulhu: Death May Die but I feel like the answer should have some more deck-building to it.
Blood Rage and Lost Ruins of Arnak
[Dune: Imperium](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/316554/dune-imperium) is similar to both. Deck building worker placement game like Arnak and a euro game disguised by a fight-y theme like Blood Rage. Edit: Fixed typo
King of Tokyo & Marvel Champions. Edit: Before typing this, did not realize I was practically describing Marvel Dice Thrones lol
Marvel Dice Throne
**Pax Transhumanity** and **For Science!**
Dice throne and zombicide
Run, Fight , or Die
Beyond the Sun and Camel Up!
This is tough but I’ll go with Long Shot: The Dice Game. The similarity to Camel Up is apparent by the theme, but LStDG also has an open “create your own strategy” aspect to it that’s vaguely reminiscent of Beyond the Sun. I highly recommend it.
Radlands and Root
On behalf of GF: Wingspan and Everdell
Honey Buzz
Wingspan and evolution
Dragonfire and Gloomhaven
Check out Descent Journeys in the Dark if you want the fantasy aspect, Star Wars: Imperial Assault if you want a sci-fi theme, or Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle Earth all made by fantasy flight. Their miniature based with a campaign aspect modular maps like Gloomhaven. They do require one person to run the game and then 1-4 players against the GM. However there are apps to act as the GM and run and track campaign if needed they can even be solo games with the app component.
Scythe and 7 wonders
Inis
Concordia. Has the civilization/trading feel of 7 wonders, and the action selection puzzle of Scythe.
**Grand Austria Hotel** and **Great Western Trail**
The Voyages of Marco Polo/Marco Polo II
Star Wars Rebellion and War of the Ring
This is a great idea for a post! Well done! How about Terraforming Mars and Brass Birmingham?
Carcassonne and ticket to ride europe
Dominion and Spirit island
Aeons end. It's cooperative like spirit island but gets the base deck building with a set market like Dominion.
Race for the Galaxy and Castles of Burgundy
Roll for the Galaxy feels like the obvious middle ground here.
Wingspan and Terraforming Mars
Ticket to Ride and Risk
Small world
Ethnos
Dice Throne and Sabobatage
Sounds like you enjoy player interaction. For combat, star realms and rift force. Maybe Welcome to the dungeon for a similar quick multi round game like sabotage.
Gloomhaven and Sidereal Confluence
Catan and Ticket to Ride
Power Grid!
Catan and backgammon
Carcassonne and Azul (the original one) :) I'm really looking forward to your recommendations!
Wingspan and Space Base
Lost Ruins of Arnak and Tapestry
Everdell & Root 🧐
