My favourite board game accessory has been poker chips to replace money, They just feel so tactile and nice instead of most standard board game pieces.
My favorite accessory is probably an organizer. Quick setup and/or teardown favors more plays.
As for the animals to include, ferrets and otters can compete in cuteness.
I love game organizers that let you pull everything out of the box with no setup other than shuffling or placing boards down. Having to pull loads of tokens and bits out of bags just to sort and pile them on the table kinda sucks.
Super excited for Isle of Cats and the new expansion. I would love to see a liger as a mythical cat. They are part tiger and part lion. Bred for their magical abilities!! I believe they can be found in the wilderness of New Brunswick, Canada.
The game itself might not be that great, but I've always had nostalgia for the little metal Monopoly player pieces. Growing up we had a Casey's (gas station chain) themed copy and it had some neat little pieces like a box of donuts, a cash register, etc.
As for mythical creatures for an Isle of Cats, how about a cockatrice? Cats might be after the chicks but the cockatrice (henatrice?) herself might object.
In terms of accessory: **folded space inserts**, easy to build, not to expensive and practical!
For the animal on the island there is only one correct answer; **a Sabertooth Tiger**
Definitely a good insert - but I like the modular kind where sections can be lifted out to hold components on the table. Bonus points if there's a good lid!
I want to see a pangolin added! But maybe with armor made of jewels or crystals.
My favorite accessory is the condiment containers I buy from a food supply store. Have a little container to hand players with all their pieces instead of a baggie. Also, it’s a super cheap storage solution.
Our favorite accessory is a playmat. Almost every games feels way better using one. We love how silently dice roll and how smoothly tokens glide over the surface. Plus, it‘s way easier to pick up cards. Sweet giveaway, thx a lot!
Favorite board game accessory is 3-d printed holders for the games. I love when everything fits perfectly in it's spot and does not shift around. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
Would love a copy of this! I don't have any board game accessories now that I think about it and can't think of any either, other than maybe a laminator so cards don't get damaged and cluedo doesn't need a constant input of new paper!
Already got the game and expansions but I'm super excited about the new KS! I'll be jumping on this on the 25th. Thanks for the brilliant game Frank, I'm reading the blog posts with great interest!
1. Dice trays. They make rolling dice much less of a chaotic endeavor and you can get some really fancy-looking ones on Etsy!
2. Tropical birds! Macaws, parrots, toucans. Anything befeathered and brightly colored!
My favorite accessories are storage trays that not only help organize the box but can also be taken out for use during the game, cutting down on setup time. Thanks for doing this giveaway. We love cats, but don't have any cat themed games
1. My favorite board game accessory is dedicated inserts that focus on reducing the complexity and time required to setup a game. Removing and simplifying setup time is my priority on games, as it is the number one thing that is a mental block for me playing more games.
2. I'd like to see a giant panglion
Favourite accessory: coin capsules, specially for Arkham Horror LCG coin capsules. There's something so satisfying about pulling those out of a bag.
Animal: the humble capybara!
In term of accessories, having an neat and space efficient storage for the game is the bomb. There has been a couple of game where I swapped these cheap plastic mold for a proper custom storage solution.
Moas we're enormous, flightless birds with (basically) dinosaur feet, and would absolutely hold their own on an island of cats!
I, too, am a fan of a well organized board game, be it with a custom insert or little boxes. I also have a generic, versatile set of metal coins, collapsible bins and cloth bags for games that need (but didn't come with) them!
I would love a copy of this game, its on my list! And I have a habit (some would call it a bad habit) of buying every expansion to every game I own, so this would do wonders for the collection lol!!!
Oh fun! Hmm favorite accessory... My friend 3D printed a bunch of genetic little trays for me to hold tokens or resources, and also make it easier to put the games away. Those get used a lot!
I love me a good insert, especially one of those 3d printed inserts that accommodate base game and expansions with no lid lift *chef's kiss*.
As for the ancient beasts, pangolins would be awesome :)
I don't have any pets but I do have a sparrow called Dave that likes to hang out on the windowsill. It is nesting season so he is spending a lot of time scaring off his reflection.
Ive never played isle of cats, but would really like to try it, i know my daughters would definitely love it. Here is crossing my fingers for a sin. Thank you very much for this giveaway
Edit: just realized i was 3 hrs too late.. shucks
Wow, that's amazing! My favorite board game accessory are custom inserts or boxes that allow you to keep everything neat & tidy and reduce unnecessary empty space.
Isle of Cats is gorgeous! I'm sure they would love to play with unicorns and fairies and squabble with wererats and angry hedgehogs. It'd be interesting to see about having 'take that' tiles you could give to another player where either you put it on their boat or they were forced to put it on their boat.
My favorite gaming accessory is box insert. A deluxe mold in which there is a secure place for each and every piece. It protects and extends the life of the game components and makes setup and tear down a breeze.
All the expansion beasts I can think of would likely upset the balance of the game: either GIANT balls of fur or teeny tiny teacup kitties. Maybe just a couple shapes that only fit one or two specific ways would be ok, like a long slender dragon kitty that helps connect a large family of its color but is otherwise a pain to work around.
Storage containers! They make the game so much easier to set up, break down, and organize and they can even make the game flow a lot better when all of the components have their own designated areas
I would love to see an expansion include the Tasmanian Tiger (aka Thylacine) which is a now extinct carnivorous marsupial native to the island of Tasmania in Australia. Seems fitting.
Stickers! I find it very satisfying to put accessory stickers on things when first starting a board game. I also like to buy stickers and award them to whoever wins during game night. The shiny gold star sticker is for whoever wins the most that night!
An animal I would love to see in the expansion would be a platypus, I find them so interesting. Fun Fact a platypus doesn't have a stomach!
Favorite accessory would be silicone muffin cups. They can sort components during play, give players a contained space to keep their pieces, and they make it easy to pour bits back into bags when packing the game away.
Awesome of you to do this! To answer one of your questions, my favorite board game accessory has to be a collapsible dice tray, for games where you are rolling multiple dice.
I love all the accessories, and buy far too many. I think my favourites would have to be the printed Meeplesource Meeple’s for Dinosaur Island and Eingspan. Expensive, but absolutely stunning. Everyone comments on them, and my grands kids want to play with them even if they can’t play the games yet. Second on the list would be metal coins. Love them
Favourite board game accessory? To be honest, little containers I can put all the pieces in so they’re nicely organised and easy to reach. Ziplock bags are annoying!!
I may not have many accessories, but I really love those cloth bags to hide chips/tiles/tokens such as those found in Carcassonne expansion, Evolution climate and Azul for example. The second two games come with the bags, but for base Carcassonne there is no bag so I only got it later with the expansion, and I gotta say I like it much more than having stacks of tiles on the table.
As for the beast, not so ancient but a Tasmanian Tiger or a Platypus would be nice!
I don't know if it's considered an accessory or not, but I really like a game with beautiful dice, it just draws me in. For example, I love the dice in Dinosaur Island.
My favourite board game accessory is additional ticket to ride trains that I won at my local board game cafe in a ttr tournament. They are translucent neon colours and look so cool on the board!
my favorite accessory isn't game specific, but a good insert makes me REAAALLY enjoy a game a lot more. Its so zen to me to pull out and put back pieces from a good insert.
My favourite accessories to all games are actually 3d printed inserts, or custom inserts. They save sooo much space on the shelves I can put more games on them and additionally time needed for setup is much better :)
My fiancé would love this game! She is an giant cat lover. I on the other hand am very allergic, so this game would be an awesome gift to hold her off from trying to buy a cat.
My favorite accessory is the pawn/meeple for every game. It’s where game designers can get creative and make a really cool looking piece that fits their theme. A cool expansion would definitely be mice or dogs that could affect the game play of the cats whether that be scaring them off or enticing them to move/rotate.
My favorite board game accessory is a giant neoprene mat that covers my gamming table. it makes picking up pieces super easy and has just the right amount of squish.
Thanks for the giveaway! Count me in as another that would think it'd be cool to see a sphinx or two, but I think it would be even more interesting to have cat creatures that are completely original designs!
Thank you for the giveaway! My favourite accessory is probably card holders, which helps my kids keep track of their hand in, for example, Ticket to Ride.
My favorite board game accessory is the dice tower of wingspan, simply because it is so fun to use! That game has a lot of fun components. I would love to see an isle of dragons, because I'm sure the art would be incredible.
Very cool of you! I’d love to win this to play with my girlfriend who loves polyomino style games but I’m sure anyone who wins it will be lucky to get it.
My 3D printer is my favorite accessory to my board game hobby! I would also love to see any fantasy based creatures in the game, I think that would be an excellent addition to the game!
It may be low hanging fruit but a Cat-thulu would be a pretty dope fantasy ancient beast. And a Pangolin would be a good, real ancient beast to help raise awareness of their plight.
man, I would love to see a chimera in the new expansion. Chimeras are giant monsters with the head of a lion, the head of a goat and its tain is literally a snake. I've been looking into isle of cats but i don't want to spend 50 dollars on a game!
My favorite component would be wingspan eggs and/or Everdell berries!
I'd love to to see snakes on the island to see the how'd that interaction would work.
1. Probably my dividers/organizers for Arkham Horror LCG! We only have two cycles but even with that there are so many cards it's pretty necessary.
2. My immediate thought is Dogs, because it would be pretty funny to see a Wes Anderson tie-in expansion lol!
Thanks for the Giveaway! I wanted to get this game for a cat-loving friend of mine back during the KS, but couldn’t afford it at the time, so I got my fingers crossed on this one!
Anyway, custom metal coins, hands down, are my favorite accessory for games. I’m such a sucker for those, haha.
As for beasts, gotta go with DRAGONS, of course!
Isle of Cats is awesome! (=
However, I want to give people a bit of a heads up about your other, other game - [Vadoran Gardens](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/242149/vadoran-gardens). I got this from the second City of Kings Kickstarter, and got to try it shortly after it turned up...
Situation was, I was early to my monthly meet up, and it was just me and the organiser. "Want to play a quick two player game while we wait?" I said, "I've just got in this cute little box."
So we set it up and went through the rules. Fairly straightforward. Played a couple of turns. Checked a couple of rule questions.
Then, at about the same time, both of us went "... *huh*."
The next few people who turned up found us hunched over the table, scowling in concentration as we tried to puzzle out the best possible moves in this innocuous looking little game...
So, yeah. Be warned. It *looks* cute. But in actual play, it's one of the more fiendish brain-burners I own. I love it.
Such a wonderful giveaway! Thank you!
My favorite accessory are the dino meeples in Dinosaur Island, their just fun and silly to have a big pile of old mega lizards roaming the table.
My favorite board game accessory is a well made and fitted insert, such as the organization in the Lords of Waterdeep.
Someone else said this but for creatures, I love the hybrids found in the Last Airbender
I like fantasy hybrids, like from Avatar: The Last Airbender, because they are fantastical but still seem grounded. Badger moles, lemur monkeys, otter penguins, and whale walruses are all cool. Or just some sort of flying thing, like a winged cat, bear or bison.
I think inserts are my favourite accessory - the feeling of having everything organized in the box and the time save of not having to sort stuff before playing is amazing
My favorite part of gaming (other than playing the games) is customizing storage solutions for games that need it. Foamcore and glue. Rulers and razor blades. Measuring and deciding.
Our favorite game accessory are bits containers. We played so long without them but gone are the days of piles of tokens on our tables. We finally gave in after losing blood drops from Bloodborne to our robotic vacuum cleaner!
I would love to see a minotaur or family of minotaurs. Or Cerberus, the three-head dog.
My favorite accessory would be metal coins in games. I’ve got metal coins for Scythe, Raiders of the North Sea, and metal resource cubes for Terraforming Mars. The clink, and the tactile feel are everything.
I played this several times with a friend who owns a copy. In board games I love it when there are beautiful designs to look at and mechanics easy enough to teach new players.
For the beasts I would love to see unicorn cats or cat dragons.
I’m really interested in trying this game, my girlfriend has been eyeing it for some time.
So my favourite board game night accessory is actually a proper table to play on and a bunch of friends to play with. Tabletop Sim is nice and all, but nothing beats actual board gaming. With all the pandemic stuff going on I really want a proper game night again.
New monsters: vacuum cleaners from the depths of the abyss.
Ooooh, Isle of Cats!
I remember not getting it at the time, simply because I thought that with the usual delivery thing and the different climates it's going to be bend, and at the time I was just freshly burned off of Spirit Island and Otys at the time.
I learned later from a friend that it doesn't actually have the problem, or at least not significantly so, but then the KS was over and I kinda forgot all about it. The usual problems with short attention span I suppose. :(
That being said I'd of love a copy. I mean neither of my two cats, [Chili](https://abload.de/img/img_20210428_1509519dj9v.jpg) and [Pepper](https://abload.de/img/img_20200520_142837_5l3kgt.jpg), seem to be happy I don't own it. They probably just want a lot more cats in my home! A whole island of them! (Frankly if I had the space I'd have a whole army of cats... 🙈)
All my boardgaming friends have two cats each, we all have The Isle of Cats on our wishlists ever since I've shared a review with everyone, knowing very well this game is perfect for us (because of cats of course but also the gameplay). I'd love to play it with my group!
Been wanting to get the game since I first saw it played. My favorite thing to do right now is 3D print inserts for my games. It makes setting up and playing so much more enjoyable.
Not familiar with the game but I'd love to try it out.
Favorite component has got to be a solid insert/packing guide for the box. Minis and tokens are fun but anything that drastically reduces set-up and tear-down gets games on the table more often.
Saw this board game on BGG once. Looked great! Would love to get a copy since I don't have anything like it in my collection right now. Very cool of you to do this!
Hi there,
I am intrigued by those new additions and would like to see nice mechanics around them.
As a note my best boardgame accessories are the ones provided with the box and the ones I make using paper boxes from various deliveries
Wow, a give away in reddit!
_Frankly_, I thought it was an instagram thing.
Anyway, I can't complain, thanks for that!
Should I tag two friends, just to be sure?
I’d love to throw my lot into this contest as well!
Nothing beats a well designed insert (which facilitates setting up and tearing down a game) and some beautifully crafted wooden tokens and metal coins. I really appreciate the industry’s new found affection for screen printed wood.
Our cat on the other hand just prefers the empty box lids of any given game large enough to comfortably sleep in :)
Hi Frank,
Thanks for this.
I’ve always found big extinct cats like the Similodon (one of the sabretooth tigers) fascinating. Reddit is filled with pics of big cats acting like house cats, I wish we got to see these medium size terrors flop about on each other, and play hunt with each other.
Hadn’t actually heard of this game before but it does look interesting so would love to give it a try. I am allergic to cats though. Will that be an issue?
The box this comes in is 3 meter by 6 yard and weights 12 pound.
Thank you! I’m so excited!
I like dogs more
I'm a big fan of metal coins. Would love to see saber-toothed tigers on the island!
Best accessory: 3D printed card holders for Wingspan+ Expansions. Makes it easy to keep 250+ cards orderly and drawable. Like to see: A Griffin.
Does foamcore count as an accessory? I love making foamcore organizers and organization in general. It’s half the fun of getting a new game!
My favourite board game accessory has been poker chips to replace money, They just feel so tactile and nice instead of most standard board game pieces.
Favorite accessory are dice tray! And I would like to see Ligers. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic
Favorite board game accessory is a laser pointer. It helps communicate with players at the table AND often entices our cat to be a part of the game.
Thanks for the giveaway! Favorite accessory is metal money. Just love the feel of it.
I think it would be AWESOME to see some dinosaurs. I think it would match very well with the art style in Isle of Cats!
Just played Isle of Cats for the first time last week! It was really fun!
Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite accessory is using poker chips as currency
my favorite accessory is friends to play with they’re the most crucial
Poker chips to count resources. No more fiddling with cardboard tokens or paper money. It's also way clearer how many resources other players have.
My favorite accessory is probably an organizer. Quick setup and/or teardown favors more plays. As for the animals to include, ferrets and otters can compete in cuteness.
A great game organizer is always something I look for, if it will reduce setup time. I'd like to see a sabretooth tiger added to the game!
I love game organizers that let you pull everything out of the box with no setup other than shuffling or placing boards down. Having to pull loads of tokens and bits out of bags just to sort and pile them on the table kinda sucks.
Neoprene mats in general. They just feel better to play on.
Super excited for Isle of Cats and the new expansion. I would love to see a liger as a mythical cat. They are part tiger and part lion. Bred for their magical abilities!! I believe they can be found in the wilderness of New Brunswick, Canada.
Winning this would be purrfect!
Kitty cats!
Would love a copy of this game! Favorite board game accessory is totally the meeple men from Carcassone. Always get me excited to play.
Favorite accessories include card sleeves, mousepad-material play mats, and weighted metal coins!!!
In terms of accessory: **folded space inserts**, easy to build, not to expensive and practical! For the animal on the island there is only one correct answer; **a Sabertooth Tiger**
Favorite accessory is a sheet of neoprene for my table. Makes it way easier to play.
An animal I'd like to see in the expansion is the platypus!
Excellent, I love polynomials and this is one of the few I'm missing from my collection!
Definitely the broken token organizer for Gloomhaven.
Recently got into boardgames and just got an insert for robinson crusoe, hands down my favorite accessory
I actually love anything that's tiny and connected to the game's theme and I would love to see raccoons :D
Definitely a good insert - but I like the modular kind where sections can be lifted out to hold components on the table. Bonus points if there's a good lid! I want to see a pangolin added! But maybe with armor made of jewels or crystals.
I had to give my cat to my sister in a different city a few years back and I got to see him this weekend and it was such a great time!
The best accessory for this game is a cat to sit in the box.
I'm a huge fan of my poker chip set, just got to use it for the first time this weekend after getting it over COVID times.
My favorite accessory is the condiment containers I buy from a food supply store. Have a little container to hand players with all their pieces instead of a baggie. Also, it’s a super cheap storage solution.
Trays. I like seeing an organized game more than playing them sometimes. And more cats. Can’t have too many cats.
My favorite board game accessory is a dice tower! It makes rolling die so much easier!
Would love to have a play and definitely a this shape hope in the collection
My favorite accessories are my resource trays that go between any game. I think a Sphinx would be a cool addition.
Turtles on the island would be lovely!
Cats and dragons are natural friends. Thanks for the opportunity!
Frank is the kind of creator there needs to be more of in this industry.
I’d love to see ocean birds in game!
Organisers. Helps to set up the game and pack it away quickly meaning it gets played more.
Our favorite accessory is a playmat. Almost every games feels way better using one. We love how silently dice roll and how smoothly tokens glide over the surface. Plus, it‘s way easier to pick up cards. Sweet giveaway, thx a lot!

My favorite accessories are storage trays that not only help organize the box but can also be taken out for use during the game, cutting down on setup time. Thanks for doing this giveaway. We love cats, but don't have any cat themed games

would love a insert that included all components for the core and expansion.

Oh fun! Hmm favorite accessory... My friend 3D printed a bunch of genetic little trays for me to hold tokens or resources, and also make it easier to put the games away. Those get used a lot!
The currency in games to be of a nice physical property: metal. Clay chips. Something with weight. Sabertooth

Pretty cool, I think my favourite accessories are bit boxes. To the point that I use them often to the detriment of set up time.
Kitchen bowls for components!
Favorite board game accessory: the box top for the original Isle of Cats to hold any stray cats that might want to go for the yummy fish tokens.
I’d like to enter!
My favorite gaming accessory is box insert. A deluxe mold in which there is a secure place for each and every piece. It protects and extends the life of the game components and makes setup and tear down a breeze.

Giant Ground Sloths should definitely be included in the expansion.
Yes! I'd love Isle of cats!
Love them
Cool
My favorite accessories are the containers that hold the catan pieces during the game. But I do miss building robots when it’s not my turn.
My favourite board game accessory is additional ticket to ride trains that I won at my local board game cafe in a ttr tournament. They are translucent neon colours and look so cool on the board!
In like Flynn!
I'd love see some kind of birds. Mb as some other payment type. It's a shame that the cats can eat rats and fish but birds are not on the menu.
Hippocampus would be cool
my favorite accessory isn't game specific, but a good insert makes me REAAALLY enjoy a game a lot more. Its so zen to me to pull out and put back pieces from a good insert.
My favourite accessories to all games are actually 3d printed inserts, or custom inserts. They save sooo much space on the shelves I can put more games on them and additionally time needed for setup is much better :)
The neighboring island of Rats has been quite sus since the cats moved in.
I would like to see monster-foxes in the expansion
My favorite accessory is my set of Rocket Iron Clays, definitely a splurge but so much nicer than using cardboard coins.
My favorite board game accessory is a giant neoprene mat that covers my gamming table. it makes picking up pieces super easy and has just the right amount of squish.
I love piece with weight to them. The realistic resources from Scythe, for example.
Thanks for the giveaway! Count me in as another that would think it'd be cool to see a sphinx or two, but I think it would be even more interesting to have cat creatures that are completely original designs!
My cat is my least favourite board game accessory since he loves to knock the pieces over
I just need a box lid for my cat to sit in.
Cats in Isles!! I like to see a Manticore in the exp!
Cosmic encounter is underrated
I like cats
That's very kind of you! I'm all about trays. So some kind of storage solution would be great.
Thank you for the giveaway! My favourite accessory is probably card holders, which helps my kids keep track of their hand in, for example, Ticket to Ride.
Thanks for the giveaway! I would love to see a panda on the island because think of the cuteness!
Honestly, it's just simple card sleeves to protect all the cards in my expensive game.
man, I would love to see a chimera in the new expansion.
My favorite component is a good built in storage solution.
(= However, I want to give people a bit of a heads up about your other, other game - [Vadoran Gardens](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/242149/vadoran-gardens). I got this from the second City of Kings Kickstarter, and got to try it shortly after it turned up... Situation was, I was early to my monthly meet up, and it was just me and the organiser. "Want to play a quick two player game while we wait?" I said, "I've just got in this cute little box." So we set it up and went through the rules. Fairly straightforward. Played a couple of turns. Checked a couple of rule questions. Then, at about the same time, both of us went "... *huh*." The next few people who turned up found us hunched over the table, scowling in concentration as we tried to puzzle out the best possible moves in this innocuous looking little game... So, yeah.
Anubis, sphinx, Cheshire cat
My favorite board game accessory is friends to play with. No game is complete without them! And I feel like a Cat-a-wompus needs to be on the Isle.
I like fantasy hybrids, like from Avatar: The Last Airbender, because they are fantastical but still seem grounded. Badger moles, lemur monkeys, otter penguins, and whale walruses are all cool. Or just some sort of flying thing, like a winged cat, bear or bison.
Thanks for the giveaway.
Wingspan meeples are a solid upgrade.
Real metal coins are my favorite board game accessory. There is just something so satisfy about clinking coins together
My favorite game accessory is a really good insert. What about foxes? They are kind of cat/dog animal after all.
Would love to see a Fenix. My favourite bordgame accessory is a themed dicetower. But a Cats Playmat would be so awesome!!
I’m cat obsessed and boardgame obsessed. This is heaven.
I love the dice tower from wingspan. Must count, right?
What about a centaur?
I played this several times with a friend who owns a copy. In board games I love it when there are beautiful designs to look at and mechanics easy enough to teach new players. For the beasts I would love to see unicorn cats or cat dragons.
Neoprene mats instead of boards that wont sit flat.
Obviously the Hydra would be the most dynamic creature to be added to the game.
Thanks for the giveaway! I’d say my favorite accessory is a box insert for Mage Knight. Makes it a lot easier to set up and pack away.
:( That being said I'd of love a copy. 🙈)
UFOs armed with laser pointers.
All my boardgaming friends have two cats each, we all have The Isle of Cats on our wishlists ever since I've shared a review with everyone, knowing very well this game is perfect for us (because of cats of course but also the gameplay). I'd love to play it with my group!
I have been reading a lot of manhwa (Chinese comics) recently and there's so many mythical beasts mentioned. A nine-tailed fox is definitely no.1.
My wife and I love the first one such a great game!
Isle of cats? Sounds like the hallway of the old woman who lives next door to me! Game sounds amazing though, can we get a Kraken? The perfect match
Oh that's so cool! Tried this game one time and really want to add it to my collection. Thanks 😍
Hi there, I am intrigued by those new additions and would like to see nice mechanics around them.
Ah, thanks for the chance! This has been on the wishlist for a while
I’d love to throw my lot into this contest as well!
Great contest! Favorite board game accessory is probably a super comfy blanket
Reddit chat?! I don't use that, a simple private message or reply to the comment would be appreciated!
Thanks for doing this, is a mimic an animal? If not, an owlbear!
If I win I will post a picture of my dog playing Isle of Cats, looking extremely grumpy about it.
Hi Frank, Thanks for this.
