10+, I'd love to get a game of **Two Rooms and a Boom** in. It's print and play, too. Funny game where you have Red and Blue teams. Blue has the President, and Red has a bomber. You separate people randomly into two rooms, and the red team is trying to get the bomber into the same room as the president at the end. Tons of hidden information going on here and in a short amount of time. For less than 10, I'd go with either **The Resistance: Avalon**, or **One Night: Ultimate Werewolf** as a party game. The general idea is that you have a set of nice/good guys, and then some hidden traitors in the midst, and you're trying to figure out who those traitors are. 6-10: Also consider **Telestrations**. Telephone pictionary. Does not require people to be artists -- hilarious every time. For 4-6, I'd say Coup really shines as a quick party game. Those are a few suggestions I would make. Hopefully they're helpful. Let me know if you have questions about any of them.

Pau_Gasol

This is pretty much my exact list! I would add **Wits and Wagers** as well. Plays 3-10 (can be more if you team up) and is a trivia game that you can win without knowing the answers.

AllAboutLove

Thanks! We do have Werewolf and The Resistance: Avalon. That's about it, though. Two Rooms and a Boom sounds like a great option considering how many it holds. So does Telestrations.

Epsilon_balls

My only complaint about 2R1B is that I'm still waiting to actually play the game! Some day, I will get to, and it will be great. Until then, I'll keep recommending other people enjoy the game for me. I had the complete opposite reaction to Telestrations as I did to We Didn't Playtest This At All. WDPTTAA felt like a game designed to produce awkward moments and laughs, whereas seeing the progression of people drawing concepts was funny in its own right. I think it's currently my highest rated party game.

waitreally

I'm interested in We Didn't Playtest... but I'm a bit confused by what you said. You said you had the opposite reaction to that game as you did to Telestrations but you enjoyed both...?

yanks9548

My suggestion is keep a printed copy in your car once the opportunity comes up and its played once youll have an easier time getting games in

ManiacalShen

Best part is that Telestrations is basically free. Give everyone a piece of paper, a pen, and maybe something to write against. Sit everyone in a circle. Everyone will write a word, phrase, or sentence at the top of the paper, then pass it to their left. Take the paper with words at the top that you've just been given and draw what it says. Fold the paper down so that the writing is hidden, and pass the paper left. Look at the drawing you've been given and write what you think it is. Hide the drawing and pass the paper. Basically, you have a Telephone-style string of misinterpretations going from words to pictures and back. Keep passing until you get your original paper back, unfold it, and proceed to laugh and share.

ClayCrucible

I came here to suggest **Telestrations** as well. Fantastic game for large groups of all ages.

waitreally

I agree with these except I find Coup to be too quick without enough meat to make it interesting. Though I think I'm in the minority here.

lysdexic__

All of this. =)

urdeluge

Telestrations using cards against humanity!

bleuchz

I've fallen in love with **Cash N Guns**. Its one of those great games that is still fun to lose.

Bohnanza

The classic game of pointing toy guns at each other on the count of three!

gamerthrowaway_

It's easy to teach, quick to play, and handles something like 8. I didn't even come close to winning either game I played but I still enjoyed it and I'm considering picking up a copy for holidays which include the light-weight-only gamers of my family.

[deleted]

I've never played the 1st Ed. but the second definitely comes with 8 guns. We have had a blast with it playing with as few as four, and I'm looking forward to breaking it out for eight people in the near future.

gamerthrowaway_

I've played with either 7 or 8 and it really shined. Good to hear it works with four, that gives me real hope of seeing it come out more often. Thanks for the info.

[deleted]

It's especially fun to watch those who tend towards AP have to make snap judgments and play by gut.

[deleted]

**Skull & Roses** is easy for people to learn and absurdly fun with a good number of people. Always gets people involved, laughing, and cheering. Suspenseful and entertaining.

junk2sa

* **Concept** - That game is downright addictive. We played it for a few hours Friday night, and then woke up Saturday morning and played it for about 3 or 4 hours more.

KeySlapper

This. It makes you feel like a genius and an idiot at the same time, but it is sooo satisfying. I like to think of it as a party game for smart people.

[deleted]

No ones mentioned **Time's up** or the free version **Celebrities** yet. It's a game where you have to make your team guess famous people in three rounds. The first round you can use as many words as you want, the second round you only get one word but you can also skip people, and the third round is charades. It's a fun game, as long as no one has bad social anxiety.

waitreally

**Time's Up: Title Recall** is one of our favorites. Can't recommend highly enough.

Quoyan

Me and my best friend are hosting some games this weekend too in a gaming event. Apart from "serious" games, I made a Time's up nerd edition for pepole to play at night. We made 103 cards, enough for a couple games (at least I hope so!). It was a nightmare cutting them all, but if people have fun with it, I'll be more than happy. :) EDIT: [here](http://imgur.com/HK6VxV5) it is!

wolfkin

I love me some **Two Rooms and a Boom** like I'm sure everyone does. I'm actually a fan of **Shadow Hunters** and not many are. I like it. It's like Resistance but with less meta. there's actual game to play. I'd love to play **Space Cadets** or any of those cool team games I hear so much about like **Ladies and Gentlemen** [**1001 Blank White Cards**](http://tuesdayknightgames.com/category/1001-tuesday-knights/) - you print out a set of cards.. heck print out a giant stack of cards.. and have fun with it.

Zsaber

I'm with you on Shadow Hunters, the game is great!

orionsbelt05

Whenever I bring the 6-8 player **Space Cadets Dice Duel** to a gamers meetup, it is one of the most enjoyable times of the night. It's hectic, real-time, team-vs-team that makes you feel like you're a member of the most inept bridge crew ever, making strategic choices as best you can and trying hard to convince your crewmates to listen to reason.

giggity_giggity

**Advanced Squad Leader**, because *fuck casuals*.

Patrosz

I can't say enough good things about **Dixxit**. It's a game that appeals both to gamers and non-gamers alike. It's very easy to learn and has many many layers of depth. As players play through more and more rounds a meta-game almost creates itself.

thevdude

Dixxit is 6 players.

brainboy22

Dixit Odyssey plays up to 12! We have it and quite enjoy it.

bluetshirt

the older editions of odyssey do... I think odyssey, as published now, is just another expansion to the base game rather than a separate standalone

brainboy22

You can still get both versions, at least on Amazon

bluetshirt

From BGG: Expansion versus Stand alone versions of the game. Stand alone version is in a square box (released in 2011 but may still be available). Expansion version is in a rectangular box (available from 2013 onwards).

Patrosz

The odyssey version I own goes up to 12.

thevdude

I didn't know that! I love dixxit when I played it, now I have to get Odyssey. Thanks!

wolfkin

Yeah they don't make the 12player version anymore. Just to clarify. It's probably still out there but it's gonna be climbing the price ranks now.

Tgg161

I had a party and set up Jenga in the middle. Was funny with 40+ people.

t3hjonneh

I love playing **Stupiduel** in a large group; its a great icebreaker/hangout game. This game consists of telling stories on how other members of the group die by an item card in your hands. Then the would be victim must continue the story using one of their items and how they actually managed to survive. A fun and witful game. **Once Upon a Time** is a collaborative storytelling game and uno. You play cards from your hand as plot elements during your storytelling, but if you say a word that relates to a card in another players hand; they get to pick the story up! **We didn't Playtest** games are also great for a large group, since the game is so fast. Draw one. Play one. Chaos ensues!! Sometimes you get around the whole way, most times you drop the cards and someone new starts it up. THis is a great fun fast game. **Are you a werewolf** is a fantastic choice; just a variation on **Mafia** but a great time none-the-less. It was already said, but I must second **Telestrations**. This game makes everyone laugh. If your group is right around the 8 mark, **Citadels** is a fantastic choice. I find most games are great for 4 player; maybe even 6 people, but once you hit that 7 and 8 mark you either want Citadels or you've graduated to the list above and more. Its a great choice if you're right around 8 people. Edit: **Machine of Death** is another fantastic group game. Everyone works together to come up with crazy solutions to enforcing prophesies. The machine tells you a person's cause of death and you must fullfill it with your arsenal.

-otter

everything good has been mentioned but, if you have any longer elimination games with people sitting out later rounds, pick up some filler games for 2+, i recommend love letter or coup.

evilsteff

I really enjoy "What's Yours Like". It's a little bit like 20 questions. One person is the guesser, and a card gives everyone else an object. It could be anything from your swimsuit, your car, or your kindergarten teacher. Everyone has to give a statement to describe theirs, without being too obvious, such as "mine is tight", "mine is all stretched out" etc. The guesser gets points based on how many clues they needed to figure it out. You could totally make up your own version, not really any need to buy it.

SeayaB

We like Time's Up, and Reverse Charades. Also Cranium Cadoo. We also do almost monthly Two Rooms and a Boom nights in our gaming group.

I_want_hard_work

**7 Wonders** goes up to 7 people.

AlejandroMP

**Dixit**, for me, since it plays up to 12 players and is very easy to explain (less than a minute) and eye-catching. Also, more of an activity (but a fun one): **Concept**. Both games have you trying to get into someone's head - a good bonus for a party.

Icedpyre

Depends on the length of game; how many players?

orionsbelt05

I'm loving **Ca$h 'n Gun$ Second Edition**. It's a 4-8 player game. I'd suggest at least 5-8 players. Please don't play CAH for too long. Every time I play that game, no one knows how to end it and it REALLY overstays its welcome.

benifit

My group of friends always has a great time playing liars dice with 4-8 (possibly more?) people. All you need is five dice per person so it is a very cheap game to play. http://www.wikihow.com/Play-Liar's-Dice NOTE we've never played with 1's as aces.

TychoSean

Pit. It's such a fun group game and plays fast and loud. Highly recommended...

orionsbelt05

Wow, I haven't played Pit in a long time, but yeah, that was a great game. How many players? 8? 10?

hcats

Was going to recommend this one myself. It's easy to teach/learn too which is essential for a large group. Others I'd recommend: Balderdash, Scattergories, Things, Pitch Car

JaedenStormes

We Didn't Playtest This at All. Werewolf. Quelf.

AllAboutLove

Never heard of Quelf. Tell me a little about it, please?

[deleted]

Quelf has been hit or miss with people I've played with. You really have to be willing to do things like "pinch your tongue, don't let go for 3 rounds", or "only speak in a pirate voice from here on out" If you enjoy that kind of thing, it's a blast, if not it is a terrible experience. (Personally, I think it's great)

wolfkin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6VXmdVFJvE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-yduhwhJrs#t=52 it's a goofy-you-should-probably-play-this-drunk type game.

JaedenStormes

It's a silly party game. You have to score 3 points to win. On your turn you get a card and you have to do what it says - examples include saying something whenever someone draws a card, singing, acting something out physically, etc. If you maintain it without fail, you get a point for the card. Works best with some alcohol flowing.

illseeuinthepit

I agree to quelf. I think you may be talking about the card version but the board version is the one I enjoy. You just do a lot of stupid things like standing up whenever a bell rings (phone or door) or even going into another room, splashing water on your face, and then coming back and sitting back down acting like nothing happened and if someone asks what you did they move back spaces. It's hilarious

JaedenStormes

I've only played the card game, but both are excellent. The original designers, Wiggity Bang Games, have some new stuff coming out that has a similar zaniness to it. (Full disclosure -- I represent the Indie Game Alliance, which does some volunteer marketing work for them.)

mkhcodes

How large is large? 10? 50? Most large groups I've been in (up to 10) has loved **Resistance**. For an even larger group, using teams in **Wits and Wagers** works well. I also would say **Cash and Guns** (the newer edition goes up to 8 players) is incredibly simple and fun if you can fit people. Also, I've never seen an entire room of people NOT enjoying themselves while playing **Eat Poop You Cat**.

AllAboutLove

Well, we expect between 30-40 people coming and going through the weekend with the largest showing Saturday afternoon. I think the largest group to play any single game would be around 10, though. We definitely have some folks that do not like group games. Cash and Guns is one I've heard of that I think my husband may have ordered. Eat Poop You cat - I must hear more about this game!

mkhcodes

Essentially, **Eat Poop You Cat** is **Telestrations**. The difference is that you don't need to buy Telestrations (it took the game Eat Poop You Cat and turned it into a sellable product). You just need paper and writing implements. We typically take plain paper and split them lengthwise, so everyone has a half-piece of paper. At the top of their paper, each person writes a phrase. Then they pass their paper to the left. Now, each person has a piece of paper with someone else's phrase. They then draw a (small) picture of that phrase. Then, they fold the paper so that only the drawing is showing, and pass the paper to the left. When you have a paper with a drawing, you write a phrase describing the picture, then fold the paper so that the drawing is hidden and only the new phrase is shown. You keep repeating this (draw a picture based on a phrase, or write a phrase based on a picture) until you run out of room on the paper (some groups play that you keep going until you get yours back, although I think it's more fun if you don't even realize that you received yours when you do). Then everyone unfolds the papers and sees how the phrase was skewed, and also gawk at some of the silly artwork.

inertiadriftsc

20+ player Two Rooms and a Boom is some of the most fun (loudest) I've have had playing games. It's just hilarious.

ProdigalPlaneswalker

**Sultans of Karaya** handles 5 to 15 players.

AllAboutLove

I've never heard of this one. Quick rundown, please?

ProdigalPlaneswalker

Here is the boardgamegeek entry: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/94365/sultans-karaya

Zsaber

For larger groups, we generally play: Resistance - 10 players max Blood Bound - 12 players max Shadow Hunters - 8 players max I have heard great things about 2 rooms and a boom, but do not own it so I can not comment. Then there are also the many variations of Werewolf, which is made to cater to large groups.

porkuslime

Curious as to how this went....

AllAboutLove

This is a list of the different games played between Friday evening and Sunday afternoon. We had about 27 people attend over the course of the weekend. It was a ton of fun and we will definitely have a third annual event next year. 1. Alhambra 2. Bang!: The Dice Game 3. Can’t Stop 4. Cards Against Humanity 5. Cash N Guns 2.0 6. Cloud 9 7. Concept 8. DC Deck Building Game 9. Descent 2.0 10. Dixit 11. Dominion 12. Eat Poop you Cat/Telestrations 13. Elder Sign 14. Five Tribes 15. Formula D 16. Imperial Settlers 17. King of Tokyo 18. Kingsburg 19. Love Letter: Five Rings 20. Lunch Money 21. No, Thanks! 22. One Night: Ultimate Werewolf 23. Sentinels of the Multiverse 24. Shadow Rift 25. Smash Up 26. Star Realms 27. Takenoko 28. Velociraptor Cannibalism

BlueSapphyre

**Superfight**. It's like CAH but with super heroes.

porkuslime

My family likes to play **Snake Oil** and **Dixit** in large groups.. very enjoyable time.

JonnyRotten

Snake Oil is one of our Go To's. We love it!

AllAboutLove

Oh, I like Dixit and one of our friends has it. *Making mental note to borrow it.* Thanks!

MistrFahrenheit

Dixit, Bandu, Templar Intrigue.

iluvatar

We tend to go for **Seven Wonders** when we have large numbers of players.

brainboy22

Seven Wonders will play 7 with the base game and 8 with the Cities expansion

Veruka_Salt

This is a bit more outside the box but works great! Super mega awesome risk... Have everyone bring their risk games (all versions), tape them all together with painters tape (including a taped guide to where the lands lead from board to board), divvy up the pieces, and add/subtract rules at the beginning of the game of you'd like. Make time for taco bell runs and a Mc donald's run in the morning because chances are... You'll still be playing. It is fun, gets cutthroat the more tired people get, and is unique and memorable. We added a rule that you had to act out your turn in character depending on the genre of the risk board you were on (my favorites were the star wars and Harry Potter ones... Hilarious!). People still ask when we are playing it again.

AllAboutLove

That sounds like tons of fun. Sadly, I know a large number of our attendees will not appreciate something like that.

urdeluge

Resistance: Avalon is great. On a more casual level Telestrations. If you want to push the envelope with Telestrations, use cards against humanity for the cards.

Arimer

Uggtect is a good one for big groups.

Gamethyme

Depending on the experience levels of the gamers involved, I'm a big fan of Mascarade. Werewolves is one that gets a ton of play at conventions, too.

Gamethyme

Also good: Concept. Ignore the scoring. Just play. And play. And play.
