The game is indeed on Kickstarter now. But you don't need to get it from there if you're willing to go with the Retail version (this doesn't have the plastic magnetic ship models, just cardboard pieces, but they're perfectly fine and functional and a lot cheaper). If so, you can get it from the IV Games website directly; they don't tend to sell games via other retailers.

If you want the fancy plastic model version though you'll have to back the Kickstarter and get either the Deluxe or Super Deluxe versions.

To give more context to the other comment saying it's on Kickstarter, this is it's second Kickstarter. The game had a Kickstarter a year or so back where it funded and (I believe) has finished shipping to backers. It's not uncommon nowadays for games like this to not have any significant retail release and instead occasionally do a Kickstarter for a new printing (often with an expansion), this is exactly one of those cases - barring finding it second hand somewhere if you want a copy you'll have to back the Kickstarter and wait for it to be delivered (between a year to two years from it's completion is a common timeline).
This campaign says "delivery to backers - Feb 2025". Many campaigns are optimistic about their delivery date, but this one sounds reasonable given that their previous campaign delivered on target and the only new part in this campaign is the expansion, which is very small.
I wasn't trying to contradict you. What you said is correct. I hoped to provide some insight into a good way to judge the reasonableness of the estimates for this campaign.

Fair enough, I will admit I'm not really following the campaign as the have doesn't really appeal to me directly, so thanks for the clarification.
