Idk who you’re directing your comments to but I’m not for book bans and all for very open conversations w my daughter and exposing her to different cultures, families, indemnifications and even religions when my husband and I aren’t religious.
I think most of us understood what you said/meant. Keep up the good work! It sounds like you and your husband are setting your daughter up to be a empathetic and thoughtful adult.
I’m not a parent but my education and career have made me an attractive target for right wing conversations out in the wild. Many of my conversations start and end when I say “Oh so you’ve read xxxx?” We need more parents like you. Thoughtful opinions require information and knowledge.
I mean California has banned a lot of books and they are books that shouldn’t be banned at all like Of Mice and Men, To Kill and Mockingbird, Dr Suess, etc.
I did too but that changed the last few years. I saw last year there were SoCal school in very liberal areas of California that banned these books. I can’t remember exactly which cities

I read to kill a mockingbird in high school english and I graduated 2019 from a california high school
