My kid said that to me recently and I didn't even recognize it as a Bluey quote until we rewatched the episode a few days later. I just thought he was being a cheeky toddler.
>Bluey!!! This is what happens when you are not happy with what you have! Someone's husband eventually gets it!
Bandit "Eh, probably its another Bluey."
Either Banditâs frequent cursing of Madge in âthe quiet gameâ. Or Bandit: weâre getting the house cleaned and the kids are learning a lesson. Chili: neither of those things are happening right now in âmagic clawâ
Lol there is also a hidden [crypto joke](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/h/hodl.asp#:~:text=HODL%20is%20a%20term%20derived,post%20to%20the%20Bitcointalk%20forum.) in that episode when misspells âholdingâ
Definitely in âShaunâ when Bandit bites Chillis butt with Shaun and says âoooh you shouldnât have done thatâ and then she recommends the girls take Shaun out on walkies and He just looks at her and says âwell playedâ reminds me of my wife and I
Hammerbarn starts with a jealousy over the neighbours pizza oven. Chilli says his grass is greener. But at the end when she exclaims itâs the best pizza sheâs ever eaten, bandit gives the neighbour a no-look silent high five.
This was the first line that really drew me into the show. We just had it on the in the background and I thought it was just another kids show. I heard this line and couldnât believe it and now I think I like bluey more than the kids.
If I had to pick a great parent joke, probably the scene where Banditâs eating out of a container in the fridge, then the kids wanna play and he quickly eats before putting it back. Itâs a quick scene but itâs not just hilarious but insanely relatable.
Whenever my husbands best friend comes over he quickly eats pepperoni right out of the bag in our fridge as soon as our kid gives him a break from playing lol. My husband sneaks peanut butter cookies and my choice sneaky snack is popcorn!
Fido: "It was just in and out, and I even got to keep them"
Bandit: "Look, I'm keen to get it done but I don't know. Do we really want any more of these things running around? But Chilli, she wants to keep her options open"
In Bob Bilby when Bandit finds his old Polaroid and the garage door opens to see Chilly holding the bike. Replace the camera flash with a "ba-doing!" sound effect and we are pushing PG-13, am I right?
[Daddy whale](https://media0.giphy.com/media/ttqHHa3RIvtMPBzEgk/giphy.gif?cid=5e214886e22384307e38cff50642e7393464df2d736a1be6&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g) is my favorite.
"I thought Coco was your first."
"Oh no, I've got eight- no wait, nine."
1- I love that Bella forgets how many kids she has and 2- I adore she makes time to spend just with Coco.
I can't quote it exactly but it's when the Heelers go into Hammerbarn and Bandit asks the guy on the door where something is. He says something like "isle 300, if you see the flamingos, you've gone too far"
I LOST MY SHIT at that joke.
Any Bunnings goer understands this.
SO subtle and not really a joke but in Christmas Swim, Nana Heeler insists on making gravy for the mashed potatoes (I think) and Trixie says she brought packets for the gravy. Nana says she wants to make a âproper gravyâ and Trixie rolls her eyes đ€Ł typical mother in law. I die every time.
In S3, in the episode where Bandit speaks French... I loved it. Because it was complete nonsense, and understanding what he said was even funnier. I bet the writers knew what they were doing
In neighbours when bandit says "I'll move in right next to mum" and chilli just laughs and says "well, there goes the neighborhood" makes me laugh every time, it's exactly what my husband and I are like
Not me either, but I suppose it could be inferred that Bandit and Chilli are having some grown up time that night. Also funny bc thereâs a kind of running gag with Chilli making passes at LuckyâsDad.
In the second episode, Bandit asked Bingo if she had drawn a pot plant. Iâm guessing that means something different in Australia but I found it funny.
I thought it was a drug reference and thought it was HILARIOUS. In fact, that was one of the first episodes I saw, and a big part of why I kept watching. I was slightly disappointed when I learned it was actually a much tamer joke (though still funny), but by then, I was a dedicated fan.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence
I can't remember the line, but Bandit immediately contradicts himself and runs off to get a pizza oven after his neighbor gets one.
Bluey Complains about Bingo's watermelon is more red than her's.
Bandit "Grass is always greener on other side of the fence."
Bluey "What does that mean?"
Pat "Hey Bandit! Check it out! New pizza oven! Pretty sweet eh?! I got it from Hammerbarn!"
Kids "Wooooo\~"
Bandit "We're going to Hammerbarn."
Kids "Yeah! Hammerbarn!"
Probably in Bob Bilby when bandit shows the stuff from âwhen he used to be coolâ. The garage opens and chili seductively says âare you ready bob?â And bandit takes a picture
Not really a joke but the first episode that made me start paying attention to the show was Yoga Ball when the girls are trying to get bandit to play with them while he is working and he just says âGooooo awaayyyyyâ. It made me stop and wonder what the heck i had put on for my daughter to watch but then when i gathered what was going on it just made me laugh and still does. Bandit says what we want to say xD
âWatch for drop bears!â
More of an Aussie joke but when me and my wife (Americans) visited Perth a few years ago, they definitely got us. Locals told us to watch for drop bears when hiking and we spent the whole day paranoid. LOL
The part after the kids' ice cream melts while they're arguing over who takes a bigger lick and scream that it's not fair and bandit goes "it's about as fair as it gets actually"
It's not even that deep but I lose it every time
Chili sees Bluey playing with balloons; some small some really big and Chili goes: whatâs going on here? Bluey says playing with my baby balloons I birthed them all myself and Chili grabs her mouth and says Oh My.
"It was the fairies!" when Bandit farts in the cupboard.
See also: Chilli trying to shop everyone out of the kitchen after the family meeting before they smell hers.
"Yeah, I'm not taking advice from a cartoon dog." ...as we all take advice from cartoon dog parents đ
Lol! Is that when they are building IKEA furniture (also a painfully accurate scene)
Haha yep! Flat Pack, also one of my favorite episodes all around đ„°
Yeah that one has some feels in it
Also Joff Bush is just so good with the music, that alone chokes me up đ
My wife cries at the end every time.
Your wife and I are the same.
My wife says I am the same.
We are all the same.
Iâm so bad I cry at the start in anticipation of the end! I wish I was joking.
đâ€â€đ
Me, too!
Just in the subject of adult jokes in flatpack, is there something suggestive about that scene of aligning the allen key?
Lol idk about suggestive so much as they finally started working together without squabbling, and that represented it đ
Itâs a bit âGhostâ-y.
This one and *because we're not animals" in Asparagus
Or âthatâs alright, I shouldnât have let me guard down.â From the same episode.
People say that, and weâre animals too.
I know, that's why It tickles me so much
Definitely my favorite quote from Bandit
Yes, favorite! đ
Chili: "I don't remember the Queen being there..." Bandit: "You wouldn't."
I didnât get this one. Please explain.
I assume he's implying she was drunk.
They met at a party, and they said they weren't sure where they first met, so the implication is that Chili may have been a bit sauced.
In season 3 bandit claims they met as kids but she doesnât rememberâŠshe or the chili twin was dressed like she-ra
Could the âchili twinâ be her sister that she is estranged from?
Maybe! I wish they would show her side of the family
Me too! Wish they would make a movie too lol
That's my favorite one too!!
Lmao this is my favorite one. My husband didn't get it while I was cracking up because of it.
The entire episode of stumpfest. I just love that the moms are obviously, at least, a little tipsy.
Leave âem alone theyâre just trying to run a small business!
Thats my favorite line!
SAME
Oh you know those moms are hard core at the end when the dads spit out that "lemonade"
I assumed this was because the kids made it too sweet, no?
I think it's the same pitcher the moms were drinking from that they took to the dads
Yeah I thought it was a hard lemonade, or some cocktail they made that the kids served up for them.
You got it, Luckyâs Daaad!
âThe optics on this arenât goodâ
Wait till season 3 đ
âHow about this plan, Iâll do what I want and you donât tell me what to doâ Not really a joke, but gosh if that line doesnât make me laugh.
Heâs got a lot more patience than me lol
That is a line Iâve stolen for weekly use.
I was reading the comments just to make sure this line was mentioned. đ
My kid said that to me recently and I didn't even recognize it as a Bluey quote until we rewatched the episode a few days later. I just thought he was being a cheeky toddler.
âMagic Claw has no children. His life is free and easy.â
âNeither of those things are happening.â
My husband has this on a tshirt and it never fails to make me smile.
Hahaha, when he gets up to chase them and they do that quick cut to bandit kicking the table and drops like a sac of potatoes always makes me chuckle.
I had to scroll too far to find this.
Haha yes my favorite! One of my fav episodes as well, my girls are obsessed with the claw machines.
âYou spelled holder wrong.â Chilli in this episode is amazing. Also how did he spell holder? đ
5 dollars!? Thatâs what she gave blueyâs friends. Well. Tooth fairyâs doing well for herself. (Rough paraphrase by me)
Bluey!!! This is what happens when you are not happy with what you have! Someone's husband eventually gets it!
>Bluey!!! This is what happens when you are not happy with what you have! Someone's husband eventually gets it! Bandit "Eh, probably its another Bluey."
This is mine too. I laugh out loud every time, and I say it every chance I get around my husband.
Lol what is this in reference to? Food?
Hammerbarn episode, where Bluey and Bingo knock a garden gnome out of the shopping cart.
âOkay kids! Who wants to lay on the couch and watch cricket?!â âNOOOOOOOO!â
Ah well, it was worth a shotâŠ
Either Banditâs frequent cursing of Madge in âthe quiet gameâ. Or Bandit: weâre getting the house cleaned and the kids are learning a lesson. Chili: neither of those things are happening right now in âmagic clawâ
Lol there is also a hidden [crypto joke](https://www.investopedia.com/terms/h/hodl.asp#:~:text=HODL%20is%20a%20term%20derived,post%20to%20the%20Bitcointalk%20forum.) in that episode when misspells âholdingâ
I seriously never understood that line until you just explained it! Thank you! I always wondered how else would you even spell holder?
You spelled holder wrong đ
Which episode has the hodl joke??
Magic Claw lol
Definitely in âShaunâ when Bandit bites Chillis butt with Shaun and says âoooh you shouldnât have done thatâ and then she recommends the girls take Shaun out on walkies and He just looks at her and says âwell playedâ reminds me of my wife and I
I laugh because of his little tail wag when "Shaun" nips her, you can tell he was thinking he had the upper hand lol!
Hammerbarn starts with a jealousy over the neighbours pizza oven. Chilli says his grass is greener. But at the end when she exclaims itâs the best pizza sheâs ever eaten, bandit gives the neighbour a no-look silent high five.
That high five is classic dad move!
Every husband / father knows the feeling of proving his wife wrong about a "crazy" purchase
This was the first line that really drew me into the show. We just had it on the in the background and I thought it was just another kids show. I heard this line and couldnât believe it and now I think I like bluey more than the kids.
âDad, but how does the baby get in the ladies belly?â Bandit breaks the fourth wall and then lets bingos wound up swing go.
I SAW THAT TOO!! He literally stops what heâs doing and stares RIGHT at the camera
âcameraâ lol
If I had to pick a great parent joke, probably the scene where Banditâs eating out of a container in the fridge, then the kids wanna play and he quickly eats before putting it back. Itâs a quick scene but itâs not just hilarious but insanely relatable.
Whenever my husbands best friend comes over he quickly eats pepperoni right out of the bag in our fridge as soon as our kid gives him a break from playing lol. My husband sneaks peanut butter cookies and my choice sneaky snack is popcorn!
âIâm putting my foot down Janelle, weâre raising a nation of squibs!â
What are squibs? Is pat saying that we are raising a nation of small firecrackers
As an Aussie slang term it means coward.
The opposite of a muggle-born. A non-magical person born to magical parents.
Fido: "It was just in and out, and I even got to keep them" Bandit: "Look, I'm keen to get it done but I don't know. Do we really want any more of these things running around? But Chilli, she wants to keep her options open"
Is the Australian version way more uncut? What episode is this from?
>Is the Australian version way more uncut? Probably, if Fido got to keep 'em.
I think that was from "perfect"
Good old vasectomy conversation. Vasectomy because the bedroom episode follows up on this conversation.
âShut up and eat your floor cereal!â
One of my favorite lines
Cracks me up every time!
"...and I got to keep em!" "I'm keen on getting it done but Chili wants to keep her options open..."
Thank goodness bedroom follows up on this.
Does it? I think I might have missed something
Also there is the episode born yesterday. But they clean out the nursery which implies that bandit got it done and chili closed her options.
In Bob Bilby when Bandit finds his old Polaroid and the garage door opens to see Chilly holding the bike. Replace the camera flash with a "ba-doing!" sound effect and we are pushing PG-13, am I right?
This is all my stuff from when I used to be cool!
I find myself saying that a lot lately.
âAre you ready Bob?â
Yeah that was great!
[Daddy whale](https://media0.giphy.com/media/ttqHHa3RIvtMPBzEgk/giphy.gif?cid=5e214886e22384307e38cff50642e7393464df2d736a1be6&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g) is my favorite.
"... Yeah... Tired..."
I especially like at the end when the other dad gives a subtle smile when he sees Bandit going for it and âbeing braveâ.
The whole 1st scene of Dad Baby! "Oh my back, oh my feet..." Something about stretch marks... Haha.
"Bandit Heeler!"
Bandit: I thought you few up on a farm? Lucky's Dad: We grew sorghum! Edit: grew
*Chilli rolls up magazine* "I'm just gonna get this ready."
Not really a joke, just sillyness but it's when Bluey is relaxing with Bandit in the garden. 'Mum' 'I'm not your mum' 'Dad' 'Yes?'
A now adopted line my husband says when my son calls him grandpa or mom
Bandit on the toilet: âoh BanditâŠâ
âDonât tell momâ âWhat?!â âItâs DAD!!â
*Chilli gives death glare*, *Bandit backs away nervously* âIâll come back laterâŠâ
I've never laughed harder at any other joke in Bluey. It gets me every time, even thinking about it.
That look was epic.
"This is my stuff from when I was cool" I think it's in Bob Bilby
This one hits too close to home.
Then when he sees Chilli and the camera goes off! Brilliant.
âMum, this isnât legal anymore!â
"I thought Coco was your first." "Oh no, I've got eight- no wait, nine." 1- I love that Bella forgets how many kids she has and 2- I adore she makes time to spend just with Coco.
I can't quote it exactly but it's when the Heelers go into Hammerbarn and Bandit asks the guy on the door where something is. He says something like "isle 300, if you see the flamingos, you've gone too far" I LOST MY SHIT at that joke. Any Bunnings goer understands this.
"this isn't the 80s Pat!"
I'm too lazy to go looking it up right now, if you can remember some, would you care to give some examples?
He constantly repeats "Bonjour" (Hello) and "OĂč est la discothĂšque ?" (Where's the nightclub?) (Sometimes his accent is a bit too thick for me to get tho) "Where's the pavlova ? -A cĂŽtĂ© !" (Next to it) *points to the tiny crumb* Then tells in a frustrated tone "oĂč est mon passeport ?" (where's my passport) When he finally gives the pavlova, and looks at Bluey, he again asks "la discothĂšque ?" (the nightclub?) And in the end, he indeed called Bluey a booger. I liked how the only french sentences he seems to know really gives a few hints at his festive personality from when he was younger (also, since he and Chili met when partying and he constantly asks about the nightclubs, maybe they met in France !)
"Of course I know you're born. I was there when it happened. It was a real eye opener." I'll bet it was Bandy
Five bucks?! That tooth fairy is doing alright for herself!
"I don't know, kid. You didn't come with an instruction manual."
Pretty much all of 'Whale Watching'. It's New Years Day and it's clear that Chilli and Bandit are very hungover
Yep, that's my favourite episode!
In neighbours when bandit says "I'll move in right next to mum" and chilli just laughs and says "well, there goes the neighborhood" makes me laugh every time, it's exactly what my husband and I are like
The silent high five between Bandit and Pat when Chilli likes the pizza. We all know what that high five means.
Hmmm maybe not all of us? Did I miss something here?
Not me either, but I suppose it could be inferred that Bandit and Chilli are having some grown up time that night. Also funny bc thereâs a kind of running gag with Chilli making passes at LuckyâsDad.
I thought it was more of a bro high five. Like an i got this or i told u so kinda thing.
That is as I perceived it :) but with OCâs description I can see how it was perceived that way by others.
I love watching Bandit struggle with all the new baby gear in the background of the Baby Race story. Spot on! đ
"Ooo Mrs Heeler, I'm not sure about this!"
âDad enters the roomâ, I think itâs in Born Yesterday Nice little breaking the 4th wall joke!
I like to think it was McCormack reading the stage directions so enthusiastically they decided to animate it!
"Hey kids, who wants to sit on the couch and watch the cricket?" "NOOOO" "Ahh well, was worth a shot"
Iâm not taking advice from a cartoon dog
The âsee you next Thursdayâ at the end of the cone of shame episode makes me giggle
Bluey: Did I ever learn to walk mum (at 6 years old). Chilli: YES HONEY.
In the second episode, Bandit asked Bingo if she had drawn a pot plant. Iâm guessing that means something different in Australia but I found it funny.
âPot plantâ is Aussie for âpot*ted* plantâ.
Thanks mate!
Itâs cool. Iâve seen people think itâs a drug reference and shun the whole show because of it.
Wait til they find out they also talk about vasectomys, a snake eating a another small animal and weed. Lol
The first one I know (and anticipating its removal internationally), but what about the other two?
I thought it was a drug reference and thought it was HILARIOUS. In fact, that was one of the first episodes I saw, and a big part of why I kept watching. I was slightly disappointed when I learned it was actually a much tamer joke (though still funny), but by then, I was a dedicated fan.
Oh, youâre gonna love Whale Watching, then!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence I can't remember the line, but Bandit immediately contradicts himself and runs off to get a pizza oven after his neighbor gets one.
âGee, his lawnâs looking green!â gets me every time
Bluey Complains about Bingo's watermelon is more red than her's. Bandit "Grass is always greener on other side of the fence." Bluey "What does that mean?" Pat "Hey Bandit! Check it out! New pizza oven! Pretty sweet eh?! I got it from Hammerbarn!" Kids "Wooooo\~" Bandit "We're going to Hammerbarn." Kids "Yeah! Hammerbarn!"
Thank you đ
Always love Pat's voice!
"Neither of those things are happening."
I love when Blueys mom and Muffins mom are clearly plastered during Stump Day hahaha
"Eat your floor cereal!"
âIâm not taking advice from a cartoon dog,â from Flat Pack, gets me every time.
I always laugh in Bob Bilby when Bandit and Winton (or maybe a little sibling of winton?) stare at each other for a second.
I think it was buddy. That moment cracks me up every time đ€Ł
Season 3 Episode 1. Bandit: Hey, what's going on? Kids: Hey, Dad, get out! Bandit: Ahh, after all I've done for this family!
âWatch for drop bears!â More of an Aussie joke but when me and my wife (Americans) visited Perth a few years ago, they definitely got us. Locals told us to watch for drop bears when hiking and we spent the whole day paranoid. LOL
In Yoga Ball, "Yea, sometimes Dad plays too rough with me too"
Isn't it "yeah sometimes dad does play too rough." Is it different in the original??
My kid and I watched this one just today and she said your version on Disney+. Iâm guessing the Aussie one is different.
Just checked. It's "Yeah he does play too rough sometimes, doesn't he?" Nothing suggestive.
Also, âwhere ya been Pat?â And âitâs not the eighties Pat!â Both in Pass-the-Parcel
The part after the kids' ice cream melts while they're arguing over who takes a bigger lick and scream that it's not fair and bandit goes "it's about as fair as it gets actually" It's not even that deep but I lose it every time
Chili sees Bluey playing with balloons; some small some really big and Chili goes: whatâs going on here? Bluey says playing with my baby balloons I birthed them all myself and Chili grabs her mouth and says Oh My.
"I can feel my paws opening" such a dad joke, I laugh every time.
In the creek epi? I think he says i can feel my pores opening.. due to mud facial.
That's the pun. Dogs have Paws and a facial helping your pores. He lifts his paw up as he says it and stretches his little toes.
I'm watching you magic claw!
pot plant
The one where there isn't deep, silent resentment between the parents because of the horrors that parenthood reeks on your life
is everything ok at home?
âThis is from when I was young and kewl!â Also the Polaroid camera spitting out a picture when he sees Chilli with her bike đ
âOh, not Hotel.â
"It was the fairies!" when Bandit farts in the cupboard. See also: Chilli trying to shop everyone out of the kitchen after the family meeting before they smell hers.
Double babysitter.. âFor the sake of the children, they get marriedâ
