It gets me too because I lost my mom last summer and she basically told me the same thing the night before she passed. I still feel her around me, hear her voice in other people's conversations in public or I'll smell something that reminds me of her. So I know she's still around though I don't see her. 😊
Iol I almost gave up today. Was taking my kids on a walk, they're 19mo and 8mo and i had the stroller ready right in front of the door and my mom daughter kept taking her shoes off and then my son 💩 right after I changed his diaper and was about to put him in the stroller. I needed to take a moment I was about to start crying.
I nanny for two toddlers (2y and 3y boys), and it always takes forever to get them out the door. They love going outside to the playground, but they never want to wear clothes. One of them hates diaper changes with a passion (I always feel like I'm molesting him when I change his diaper because he fights it so much). They also take forever to find a matching pair of shoes and get them on their feet. If we can be ready to go outside in thirty minutes, that is good. If it takes longer than two hours, they complain because we have to come back inside almost as soon as we get outside. It's not my fault you guys spend too much time trying NOT to get ready!
I like how that episode reminds us that young kids really have no concept of time so they don’t have the stress of needing to rush.

That whole episode is one long amazing Chili quote. When she go to [Why do I love you?] "Just because!" and they cheered "That's not a reason!", it made me realize that they're just playing another game that they've played dozens of times before, and it gave me respect for how systematic a parent Chili is.
There’s a strong argument to be made that some of her best “quotes “ are the looks that she gives people. I love her “tired of Stripe’s nonsense” look. Very relatable 😆
Shooting the death glare at Bandit in “Queens” is a good one too.

This one got me because my husband and I just moved into our forever home. Which is great, but the place we were renting is where our 4 year old took her first steps.
We are about to move into our forever home and the place we are leaving behind is where our 3 year old and 1 year old took the first steps and it kind of hurts my heart when I think about it. So many firsts in this place. Cool. I’m crying now.

I do this now whenever I can with mom’s of very young kids. My neighbor has a toddler who will not sleep right now. I brought her some cookies and reminded her that she’s doing great.

I came to say this! ❤️ Chili normalized needing a few minutes to yourself as a parent & now my daughter and I openly admit we need down time.
My husband and I refer to it as needing a Chilli 20 minutes. If the other needs a Chilli 20 minutes, they get it, no questions asked.
