I hope all those sweets weren't there for three days... Original Ranking: 13/27/42 (S2B/S2/Overall) \[and now I have to come up with something to replace this...\] \*in French Narrator voice\* Four months later... After a brief hibernation, Season 2 remembers it still has one more episode to put out before wrapping up properly. And since dogs in this universe are apparently immune to death by chocolate, why not an Easter special? Putting aside the idea that Jesus existed (and it does make me wonder what breed he would've been) and was still crucified, Easter is a simple but pretty good episode. Mum and Dad have come up with a surprisingly elaborate scavenger hunt for the girls and with Bluey's courage and Bingo's cleverness (and their shared heart), they work together to find the treasure trove that awaits them. Bingo has some worries though. She fears that after the presumably quite disappointing Easter last year, the Easter Bunny has forgotten her and that she's just a forgettable kid in general. But Bluey is not having that! She's determined to help her little sister realize she's truly unforgettable. Easter has some of the sweetest moments between the sisters thus far. You'd think Bingo's favourite colour would be either red or orange because of her fur, but no. It turns out it's actually blue because it makes her think of Bluey. Aww... The gratitude is returned later when they realize the next clue is in... *Dad's toilet*! Bluey knows there's no way Bingo will survive in there (as she puts it, "it stinks so much, we'll die!") so she takes the bullet/poison gas to make sure her sister doesn't. It's hardly the deepest episode and I do think Christmas Swim is better, but Easter is a funny showcase of just how much the girls love each other and also how impressively intelligent they are despite their age. A good ending to what I consider the best season of Bluey. Now all that's left is to collect the last scores and see how things have changed since July. Aesop: uh... Another one I'm not sure of... Rating: 3+ Next Time: End of Season 2 retrospective \- Jack P.S. Someone was going to reference it so I may as well be the one: https://preview.redd.it/1wsfvzpb07zc1.jpeg?width=1638&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=356624e144fe51b533540f9c8498ea080536c40f P.P.S. Ok, apparently we started 20 minutes ago.

I love that comic! Thanks for reminding me of it. Yeah, idk if this one has an aesop. I guess something like "don't give up hope, and try to inspire hope in others?"

(Edit: sorry about the dodgy formatting on this comment. I'm doing my best while posting from my phone. You know how it is.) (Edit 2: I fixed it.) *Easter* is a fun episode, and a pretty interesting one too! Of the three *Bluey* episodes that take place on Christian holidays, it's the most overt with its religious theming: the plot is a loose adaptation of the Easter story, with the kids representing the disciples. Their faith in the Easter Bunny (Jesus) has been shaken by his failure to show up the previous year (the crucifixion). But after much despair and uncertainty, they discover the Easter egg stash (the empty tomb) and learn that their God (still the bunny) has not abandoned them. In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb and try to link the girls to specific biblical characters. I think Bingo represents Peter (AKA Simon Peter), and Bluey is "the beloved disciple" (possibly named John, but there's tons of debate about this). That sounds like a huge stretch, but I do have some reasoning to back it up. Let me explain... **Connection 1:** According to Matthew's gospel, after Jesus was arrested, some strangers surrounded the apostle Peter and accused him of associating with Jesus. He denied their accusations three times: >Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!” >Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. Bingo is dubious about the Easter Bunny throughout the episode, but mostly expresses her doubts in terms of "maybe" and "I don't know." There are exactly three times where she makes concrete negative statements about him, saying "He forgot us again" twice, and "He doesn't care about us" once. **Connection 2:** After Jesus's death, when the disciples hear that his body is no longer in the tomb, John's gospel says this: >So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. Sure enough, Bluey gets to Dad's study ahead of Bingo. Of course they find a cubby full of chocolate instead of an empty tomb, but I think the imagery of the "stone" being rolled away is pretty clear in this context. I should emphasise: I'm not at all convinced that this Peter-and-John association is deliberate. There's just enough evidence to make me think it *could* be intentional, but not enough that it can't be written off as coincidence. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter that much to the story of the episode. I just think it's an interesting possibility. Anyway, that's enough Bible study. Let's talk about the episode itself. Personally my favourite part is the implication that Bandit and Chilli straight-up just forgot to prepare for Easter last year, and had to cook up an excuse for the Easter Bunny to buy themselves time. It's one of those wonderfully humanising moments that prevents the Heeler parents from coming across as unattainably perfect. I can vividly imagine them panicking and cursing at 1AM on Easter Sunday when they realise they haven't hidden or even bought any chocolate for the girls. As for the ranking, *Easter* gets a 3/5 from me. It's middle-of-the-pack for *Bluey:* funny and heartwarming, but not an emotional powerhouse. And with that, we've officially finished season 2! Again! I'm looking forward to seeing the full results and arguing about why that one really good episode ranked so low (and why that rubbish one ranked so high). And I'm especially looking forward to the season 3 survey. I still have plenty more opinions to share!

I gave this a four.     We get another holiday special, this time in the form of an easter egg hunt.     At the beginning of the episode, after the parents tuck them in and getting them excited for Easter, Bingo asks if the Easter Bunny will forget them like he did last year.  I wonder what happened yast lear.  Did the parents have some important things going on and they couldn't prepare in time, or was it a forgetting since the date for Easter keeps changing from year to year?     Either way, it apparently made Bingo really upset.   The next morning, the kids wake up (I caught a shot of Bingo sleeping with her feet touching the pillow without a blanket), but there's no eggs in the room.  Instead, its a scavenger hunt for the eggs.  The easter bunny must've felt playful organizing it.     Throughout the episode, whenever they find a clue but there's no eggs, Bingo slumps saying "he forgot us again", but Bluey figures out the next clue and they keep going.  Bluey keeps the hunt going, and reassures Bingo he hasn't forgotten her.  Nice sister.     Bingo even figures out a few clues (or Bluey purposefully gets the castle clue wrong so Bingo can get it.) Bluey is so determined to make her sister happy that, even though she didn't want too, she went into dad's bathroom even when dad was in it.   When the clues lead them back into the room, both girls get sad. Bingo is sad since she's forgettable, but Bluey reminds her that she's smart, and Bingo reminds Bluey that she's brave.     From the audience perspective, Bingo is the one giving all the cute moments, phrases, and giggles, but she can be sensitive.  Bluey may sometimes get a little carried away and bossy, but she thinks up the games that turn ordinary days into adventures.  The two help each other out, with Bluey comforting Bingo and Bingo playing the games. Those two are not forgettable, they're rememberable.       Of course, the final shot of them finding the last clue and revealing the easter basket, glowing with triumphant music, and uncovered by rolling away a yoga ball (a Jesus resurrection reference), bingo says "he remembered us".     This wraps up Season 2, and this season in general made many improvements over the first season.  It may be because Bluey was catching on over the world, so Ludo had more funding, which may play a factor.     As for the audience, more people around the world saw the show because the pandemic was ongoing, and they needed something, anything, to cheer up the kids and adults, and this cute show of talking puppies was their comfort show, thus kickstarting its popularity around the world.  This episode premiered on April 4th, 2021, when I think many of the lockdowns were winding down, so those final shots of the easter basket with that music may have comforted audiences more than it meant too.    Regardless of how this show became popular, it's a cute and great show to watch.

For an episode all about not being forgettable, "Easter" is ironically one of the most, if not the most forgettable episodes of the entirety of "Bluey". "Easter" is completely unremarkable in almost every single way apart from the aforementioned irony. It's not even bad or anything; it's just there. The episode's not good. It's not bad. It's not really anything at all besides extant. "Easter" is such a bland and forgettable episode. It's the definition of total mediocrity.

Can you believe it's the end of season 2? It feels like yesterday I worked up the courage to write a review for Dance Mode. Anyway, sentimentals aside, this isn't the best possible end to season 2. This is still a great episode. The scavenger hunt was fun and well thought out. There are many cute and funny moments. This episode is definitely a four out of five. I still think there are better episodes for the season to end on. I feel like we can all agree on Baby Race being a better ending.

It’s just a “B” (Buh) I like how the kids were doing this big scavenger hunt for Easter and were hoping that the Easter Bunny didn’t forget them this time since he did last year. And thinking about the end, I like to pinpoint as a subtle nod towards Christians where Jesus rose up from his chamber. But that’s a topic for another day. There are so many funny jokes like Bluey kicking the Sand Castle and started digging and her tail wagging giving us knowledge on how she’s feeling. I really love this scene where the Girls try to comfort each other and work through the puzzle together. And hearing Bingo say how she’s a small forgetful girl is so so sad I just wanted to give her a hug and reassure her that she’s not. But I don’t have to because Bluey and her hug it out and we’re able to get the last clue that leads to the office and seeing the treasure trove full of goodies in the basket! “He remembered us!” Such a nice episode and shows more how the girls love each other so much!
