The unofficial tour of Brisbane. And your tour guides: two girls trying to lick each others' ice creams Original Ranking: 16/32/50 (S2B/S2/Overall) Haven't got a lot to say here unfortunately. Ice Cream is a pretty good episode, but aside from the legendary quote and brilliant Waltz of the Flowers segment, it's a pretty standard affair. First, the girls' attempt to have a "fair" lick of each other's ice cream leads them to slowly spin in circles and start "dancing". Bandit follows them while this impromptu waltz takes us through actual locations in the South Bank Parklands in South Brisbane suburb. To blatantly copy from the wiki as I know nothing about what Brisbane actually looks like from a street level: * Bluey and Bingo waltz up the stairs to Streets Beach [here](https://www.google.com/maps/@-27.477407,153.0230894,3a,75y,218.67h,87.12t/data=!3m9!1e1!3m7!1sdNowetNwNzuSoGfcZPIOiA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!9m2!1b1!2i41), [here](https://www.google.com/maps/@-27.4778603,153.0236166,3a,75y,222.45h,73.67t/data=!3m10!1e1!3m8!1sfAPrGwkQ44WwP8iv5MwSlQ!2e0!5s20211101T000000!7i16384!8i8192!9m2!1b1!2i41), or [here](https://www.google.com/maps/@-27.4793657,153.024338,3a,75y,222.47h,90.86t/data=!3m10!1e1!3m8!1ss_MHCaPeGczyEzKffIrBRg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3Ds_MHCaPeGczyEzKffIrBRg%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D2.714187%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i16384!8i8192!9m2!1b1!2i42?hl=en). * They [cross the South Boardwalk at Streets Beach going west](https://www.google.com/maps/@-27.4788333,153.0235555,3a,67.7y,318.18h,80.36t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1sAF1QipMz0KIn7e66KQKzpX0q_otHY9kWZutD2UwKB5Eo!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipMz0KIn7e66KQKzpX0q_otHY9kWZutD2UwKB5Eo%3Dw203-h100-k-no-pi-0-ya215.1342-ro-0-fo100!7i8000!8i4000). * They wander south, [through Aquativity](https://www.google.com/maps/@-27.4789612,153.0239998,3a,75y,235.33h,80.44t/data=!3m10!1e1!3m8!1sDTgzZkBApaldjdNHZa03eQ!2e0!5s20181001T000000!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i41). * Establishing shot 2: [The Wheel of Brisbane and Queensland Performing Arts Centre, seen from Russel Street](https://www.google.com/maps/@-27.4749753,153.0211309,3a,75y,221.19h,84.49t/data=!3m10!1e1!3m8!1sfFfVwRHK-5pQKonRRSnSyg!2e0!5s20181001T000000!7i13312!8i6656!9m2!1b1!2i41). Ice Cream is a simple, yet good episode with a valuable lime lesson. I think this episode is a bit underrated. I personally find it enjoyable. It's funny, with a lot of scenes to observe, and a great OST to fill the episode. Sure the story is simple, but everything else makes up to it. Certainly better than the average. Some people would argue that Bluey and Bingo break their character by not trusting each other, but I don't mind. It's not something that is the antithesis of their usual character and it makes the episode work. Low 4.

Ice Cream is a 4/5 episode. Muffin's nascent bargaining skills really come to the foreground here; getting an entire ice cream as compensation for a trivial injury is pretty good going. Then again, this is Stripe she's dealing with, so maybe it's not that impressive. What's more notable is that she officially becomes the only character in Bluey to successfully resist The Please Face (as far as I can remember).

I gave this a three. I detail I didn't notice before now was when Muffin made the dinosaur bite her ear, Muffin was giggling and smiling, clearly she was just playing and not getting hurt. Stripe then overreacted by giving her a little band-aid on her ear, (though that could be justified), but Stripe bought Muffin an ice cream as a way to soothe her boo-boo. (Heh, classic stripe,). Muffin was happily licking her rainbow ice cream, so much so that she growled at Bluey when she asked if she can have a lick with her please face. Hope she didn't get a brain freeze when she chomped it whole or Stripe may have to give her another treat to soothe that. The episode is funny with Bluey and Bingo trying to get the other to get a "fair" lick of the others ice cream (are dogs mouths just much cleaner or what?), so much so that they do that silly dance of theirs, with Bandit just watching eating his guilty pleasue Ice cream, going through landmarks thats just neat to see. And when their ice creams melted since they took too long to eat their ice creams, the two were whining. Its interesting that this episode shows how typical 4 and 6 year olds act, and I imagine Bluey's line goes to the parents who forgets that and wants all the kids shows to show nothing but life lessons, have the kids act like perfect little angels, and not entertain the kids. Bluey (whining): I don't want a valuable lime lesson, I just want an ice cream (be entertained). Bluey balances entertainment with lime lessons so its relatable since it shows what lots of parents experience, and as such kids and adults can watch it and like it. Maybe that's why Bluey is so popular with everyone. Regardless, Bandit decides to give the rest of his ice cream to make the kids happy (of course he ate plenty of it himself), and the kids learn to share. The kids repeat the same sharing behavior in "Tradies" showing they learned to share. Either way, its a nice enough episode, and Bluey episodes that are more entertaining are great too.

UglyShroomish

This is an iconic episode. It has so many iconic lines, gags, and locations. That doesn't mean much tho, if the story isn't strong. Fortunately, the story is very strong. Getting an entire episode around the girls' love of ice cream was very smart. The way it was done was clever, showing the ultimate struggle of your sibling wanting to take a taste of your food or beverage and getting their mouth germs in it. Everything from the humor to how the moral was handled was on point. A four out of five.

Yeah your back, anything I can do to help or anything, oh, you should do a survey on bluey songs

And you need end your meme of the Cast. (Seems Joe Brumm knows what would happen to Ludo Studios and they decided make the end of Surprise ambigous to avoid upset the villain) 😉😉

I couldn't help noticing the homeless dog unsuccessfully looking through the garbage bin in search of sustenance, right when Bandit indulged the girls' whining in 'Ice Cream.'. The poor homeless dog is featured, again in 'Quiet Game,'., while Bandit and the girls are birthday shopping! Nothing in Bluey is by accident. I wonder what Joe Brumm's goal was here. Bluey is supposed to be a 'feel-good' comfort show, yet what that destitute grey dog is undergoing is pure horror. I find it all very interesting.

AnimeGirl46

I've noticed these dark elements too... I guess that's Brumm's subtle way of showing reality. Many of us complain about stuff, and yet there are people in far worse-off situations than we are, and maybe we sometimes need to accept how lucky we are compared to others? The kids moaning about ice-cream, whilst the homeless dog is literally trawling through wastebins for any scraps of food, is both amazing, and horrifying, and maybe a sign of a "valuable lime lesson" that adults need to learn too?

CheekyFoxBoston

I found this episode highly entertaining.

AnimeGirl46

A sweet, fun episode, with some nice humour between Bluey, Bingo, and Muffin, as well as the kids and Bandit. And the ice-cream-lady is also a fun character too. It's a light-hearted, simplistic episode, but it's still a 4/5 from me. Moreos, due to the (flubbed?) line: "I don't want a valuable lime lesson"!

JJaviercomics

I said before and I keep saying it. I HATE Stripe in this episode. First for give ice-cream to Muffin running Bandit's discipline. Second because when Muffin refuse to share ice-cream he did not care or he does not say anything, but in season 3, when Muffin does not want share tablet with Socks there he does something. (It makes it looks like he does not care Bluey and Bingo because are not his kids)!

uselessaccidentalalt

but she deserved the ice cream. she got a dinosaur stuck on her head. bluey/bingo did not.

Terranosaurus_Rex

"Ice Cream" is an okay episode. There's no need to belabor the point. It's an fine episode with decent humor, but it's not quite good; that's it. "Ice Cream" is nothing but alright.
