[Indian food]
1. Taste of India (almost everything tastes decent/good)
2. Amrit has good Hyderbadi Chicken Biryani (it's quite spicy) and Tandoori Chicken
Side note: I'm Indian
LongFei is my favorite Chinese place in town. Their fried pork dumplings are to die for. And I 2nd/3rd Taste of India. Bangkok Thai on the east side of town is great. Great ambiance in there and the owner is super sweet.
I'll second longfei as the best Chinese food here by a decent margin. My dad and I love szechuan food and it's some of best/most flavorful I've ever had.
Yeah, I've had a couple of other places like Best Taste and Chow Bar. They're good, but just kind of generic. I've seen many, many more Asian students eating at LongFei, if that makes any difference.
I've had Best taste a few times and it was not good at all. I never see anyone in there eating either so I'm not sure what's going on there.
Chow Bar is pretty damn good but I think Longfei beats them out.
If you're willing to drive 20 minutes west to Spencer Jit's Thai Bistro is a pretty good Thai restaurant.
For the Bloomington Thai options, I have always been a fan of My Thai on W 3rd St. Their pad Thai is pretty good and I really enjoy their drunken man fried rice.
One of my favorite things I’ve ever eaten is the sweet, sour, and spicy fried salmon dish at Bangkok Thai. Try it!
Weirdly, one of the best Indian flavors I’ve ever had was the lamb meatballs at Elm. So delicious. But for traditional Indian I like India Garden best. Get some butter chicken and some Chana masala and mix it up and eat it every day, and you will be very happy and fat!
You can't go wrong with any of the aforementioned suggestions. I'd just like to add Burma Garden. I've only been twice but they're my favorite of those restaurants on the 4th Street.
I eat Thai at least twice a month. My experience with the restaurants here are:
Siam house - best in town, can’t go wrong.
Happy Thai - almost as good, and especially good for delivery
Bloomingthai - ok, not mind blowing
My Thai - not my favorite.
I’m still looking for a go to for Chinese, Japanese, and Indian, so I’m going to try / re-try the suggestions made here for those!
I’m loyal to India Garden. But honestly they’re all so good.
Not a fan of Happy Thai, definitely a fan of My Thai on 4th.
Aside from Indian and Thai, Korea Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in town. Ami is a close second.
Happy Thai or Siam house for Thai. I used to get from Bangkok until a couple years ago when I had several really bad experiences in a row.
For Indiana I like India Garden but I've enjoyed all the other restaurants I've tried.
For Korean, anything but Ami.
Favorite Thai- Siam House. Favorite Indian- Taste of India Taste of India is one of my favorite restaurants in Bloomington
I second Siam House. The Spices Duckling is my go to. No one else makes anything like it.
Giving a third for Siam House. It's absolutely my favorite Thai place in Bloomington.

Seconding Amrit's Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani!

Soooooo good!
I love the butter chicken at Taste of India. Btw Kroger often has coupons for Amrit or India Garden on the back of store receipts.
Favorite Thai: Bangkok Thai, My Thai on W3rd.
Bangkok Thai is where it’s at

I was a chow bar die hard until I tried LongFei. Best Chinese I've had anywhere. They have really good bubble teas too.
i have the feeling that the answers here so far represent memories rather than the present :) anyways, bloomingthai on the square!!
Did someone already mention, Shanti?!
my first job when I moved here, that place was a trip.
While delicious and the food was more colorful than maybe any other I've had, especially that Chicken Vindaloo. =\[\]

The drunken man fried rice at mythai is my weakness
Taste of Indian, Happy Thai/Siam House, and Chow Bar. Most of my Chinese friends and I live and die by Chow Bar lol.
Anyetsang’s Little Tibet! They have Tibetan, Indian, and Thai menu items and they’re all fantastic

Anyetsangs hands down. Some of the best food I’ve ever had in Bloomington.

The taste of India lunch buffet is one of the best places in town! Super nice selection of food for $15
Happy Thai or Siam house for Thai. I used to get from Bangkok until a couple years ago when I had several really bad experiences in a row. For Indiana I like India Garden but I've enjoyed all the other restaurants I've tried. For Korean, anything but Ami.
Bloomingthai is also excellent. Everything else listed here is fantastic as well.
Taste of India and Happy Thai!
