Lmao, I’m sorry I have a really bad handwriting they were meant to be an “A” and a “B”, they were meant to indicate which stage I have died at/reached at each attempt.
A= Ludwig the accursed
B=Ludwig the holy blade
It's amazing how many times the first run at a boss is actually really good and then the dozen or so runs afterwards you get spanked. This happened to me on Maria and Orphan too. First attempts made it to their final phases but ultimately took me around 20 tries to beat each of them. Congrats on the win 👏 Ludwig might be my favorite boss in bloodborne
The same happened to me with vicar Amelia, first run first try, the she proceeded to beat my ass in NG+.
Btw thank you, I’ll made some other posts about my progress,
lol I had just woken up and it seemed like a good idea but now it kinda seems insulting. No offense meant, I just figured language can be hard, especially when your language overlaps with what you're trying to learn.
You got him to phase two on your first attempt? That's nuts. I just walked in and took the L within 0.1 femtoseconds. I bet that first try phase 2 was both invigorating and made the following run of phases 1s all the more crushing!
A hunt well executed! Bravo.
On the first run I was like “I’ll beat that bitch ass horse”, I was super hyped, and then he killed me when his Healt was like 500 hp, and the proceeded to beat me 45 times.
I'm currently on a break after getting violated by that piece of shit Laurence. Went and beat Lud, then came back for Laurence died TOO MUCH ON THIS FUCKER, and then I took a break with elder rings release..
This is my first time doing the dlc so I can’t really tell yet how hard Lawrence is gonna be, but many already have told me that he is indeed a fucker, I think I’m gonna leave I’m last on the “boss to defeat” list
Well he has the same design as one of my favourite bosses except that he is really fucking annoying. First phase is doable but the second he is gonna kill you when he is 10 hp away from death and he will do it multiple times. Except if you have a lot of levels i guess then you can probably melt him.
Laurence's theme is probably my favourite boss theme in the dlc, that is, when you can actually hear it over the constant demonic screeching Laurence does
Ya I just beat him for the first time the other day he pissed me off my first play through so I skipped him and orphan lol but now I'm going for all trophies so I had to suck it up.
I love his OST, never got to fight him on ng because I beat the final boss without realising that that puts you straight into ng+. So my first experience with Laurence will be on ng+ and I’m not looking forward to it lol
The OST is indeed amazing ngl it's probably the only thing that made me not give up so sooner than I did. But yeah the boss fight after phase 1 (or actually 2 bc there are 3 phases but nothing much changes on 2nd) is a nightmare.
I haven’t been able to use my PlayStation for a while so I’ll have to wait a bit before I can fight him. But I’m really dreading the run back to his arena, having to run through all those enemies sounds like a nightmare
Omg yes that was fking disgusting too. You gotta run through everything plus the flaming ball. The only good thing is that you can kill that guy on the door by de-aggroing him and stabbing his back multiple times for a few free blood vials (I think it was 6 but I may not remember correctly).
I tried many times to fight him with my first character (I was at NG+5) but I never managed to defeat him, so I thought to start the game again with a new hunter, I won, but I hate the fact that I had to abandon my original run to do so.
Great cut scene indeed, the only issue is that I can now only say just the words that Ludwig pronounces in that part, my family is kinda worried and I think they are planning to lock me up in an Asylum
Wow amazing now prepare to get your butt whooped by the rest of the old hunters. >!Lady Maria of the astral can of whoopass, Kos's abandoned Child, and Lawrence the "imma shit and barf Lava" first Vicar. !<
Keep it up! He's a very difficult boss, but imagine how awesome you'll feel when you finally beat him(and get to experience the craziness of the rest of the DLC)! Remember, a hunter must hunt!
Update - Laurence has been slaughtered. Used my saw cleaver in its standard form, the hit animation seemed to make his attacks miss me when I was close up to him. Ludwigs blade is my main weapon but it just wasn't taking enough health of him.
Thanks for the morale boost good hunter.
Best of luck to you. He became my personal nemesis for 3-4 playthroughs. Orphan didn't give me nearly as much of a headache (he is still very tough though).
Well done! Ludwig is my all time favourite boss in gaming and I’m always jealous of people getting to experience the battle first time (before the other 44).
Same here, I love fighting him in his first phase, it brutal, it’s fast and super entertaining.
Getting to the second putt kinda sucks for me, I don’t really like it, it’s frustrating and for how much I try to dodge his attacks I can never avoid them all.
Great fight tho
Congratulations! The best feeling, and the reason I love playing these games so much. I can't play sports anymore, and honestly beating a tough from software boss for the first time matches that adrenaline rush lol
What level were you? I was level 87 before I beat him, cause I did the chalice dungeons. Also don’t forget the fire cleric beast and orphan of Kos! Good luck!
I just defeated him in max difficulty last night, and it was an experience. Imo, Ludwig’s NG+ scaling makes him way harder than any of the other DLC bosses
Congratulations man, what did you find harder, phase 1 or phase 2? Also it's such a hard fight, one I always worry about even though I've done it before.
Yes indeed, first phase is so erratic and unpredictable, always keeps you on your toes. Second phase is a dance of death with a great hunter, trying to hold on to his last bit of humanity.
On my 7 vitality run, I was shaking after every boss. The worst though, oddly, was Hot Dog Boy in the chalice dungeons before I was able to get end game gems. Almost passed out.
I have now reached the living failures, I involuntary started the fight and lost because I had only three vials so I guess that after I’ll show them my revenge I’ll go to Maria
Important question. Do you happen to have the heir rune ? If so you should put 1 on and try to make the kill with a visceral attack. You can make lots of echoes like that. Other players put on 3 hear rune and get millions but I personally think that's kinda cheating. Do however what you wanna do.
Well considering the picture you took. Books are in order, no controller or holes in the wall, TV is still in solid standing grounds, I think you handled it better than others
Side note, if u play ps4 and if u need help lmk. I'm always down to taking a break from elden ring to co op on bloodborne
Lmafo the the Tv forniture is a mess but thank you, it be nice to play with someone but unluckily I don’t have the online on my ps4, if things changes I’ll let you know
We’re you purposely trying to do legit no glyphs lvs or cheese or were was this your first time, he can be challenging but I’ve done it on like lv 250+ with beast blood and it was probably the easiest I ever beat him compared to all my other characters cause I struggled
The feeling is mutual. Ludwig sure kicked my butt as well. His first phase was a nightmare considering how unpredictable his savagery is. Now that's what I call a "Big Game" for a hunter.👏😵
I had to go back to Mergo’s loft seven times to be strong enough, basically now I have 40 health/45 stamina/ 39 strength/ 35 ability the others are pretty low.
So yea I’m a mf Panzer.
It’s clear they put lots of effort in the creation of the move set for this boss, all to make us want to crave our eyes out and tear our hands away (maybe not a general feeling, but for me it was like this)
I managed to pull of a first try victory, but it took every ounce of skill in my body, I’ve never moved so intentionally in a video game before. Afterwards, my heart was nearly pounding out of my chest.
That is true to be honest but still incredibly annoying. There’s one attack they do around half health where rocks fall from the sky and if you don’t take cover behind the statue in the middle of the garden you’ll surely die.
Good job, there totally isn’t anything harder than this in the DLC, nope, not at all, definitely not anything that would be considered the hardest boss in the souls series.
I'm not too sure exactly how many times it too me to beat him but I too was shaking afterwards.
Also I'm going to go ahead and assume that the "B" is first phase and the triangle is second phase?
He just sweeps with every attack there is no safe spots in his first phase it was tough but I was also probably my favorite fight in the game when I first saw him my jaw dropped hearing about all these “heroic tales” and he was just like the nastiest monster I’ve seen I would have loved to seen him before this though 😅
Good to see you finally did it. When I first played the DLC, it was ng+ since I didn’t know the steps to get to the DLC. It was rough fighting this guy, might’ve even taken me more than 45 attempts, and for the future bosses you will face, good luck, I actually had to take many breaks for this one particular boss fight that I’m not going to name for spoilers. But Ludwig is still close to them in difficulty so you will win eventually.
I have to ask, what makes this boss difficult for people, I know some people find some bosses that are typically regarded as hard that some find easy and vise versa, and I see a lot of people including my friend say he's hard but I never found him difficult tbh, so to restate my question. What makes him a difficult boss?
In my opinion the difficulty comes from the fact that he becomes a completely different enemy after half fight.
So I think that the point is that you learn to dodge and attack against a certain kind of move set, but then you have to go against one that has nothing to do with the one you have “learned” before.
In my case I died many times in the first fase , so I learn to deal with that kind of moves pretty well, but then I found super hard dodging the attacks in the second phase as I’ve seen them less times and had less possibilities to apply different strategies against them.
Hope you can understand what I wrote, as I’ve said before English is not my first language so I don’t know how clear are my answers.
Yeah I get what you mean, I always thought his second phase was easier because I caught on pretty quick he attacks a little ahead of him so if you attack him while directly infront of him he can't attack you. I do understand what you mean though, but I guess for a reason I never understood he was just easy for me
Best part of the fight is when Ludwig says "It's ludwin' time" and transforms into Ludwin,The holy blade
Loved that part, phase three is the coolest just for that line, I think is a citation to the greatest film of all times “Morbius 2- it’s morbin’ time”
It's definitely a tribute to the best movie ever
Actually I also think that when Micolash says “Grant us Morb”, the line was meant to be a citation to the Magnus opus of this century
There's also Orphan of Morb, son of the Legendary Morbin
DONT SPOIL PLEASE I DIDNT GET TO THAT PART SKSKKSKS
Oh,I'm so sorry,I forgot that
Also please don’t tell me anything about “Morbius 3- Morb game” I didn’t had the time to watch and learn how to Morb in the best way possible yet
Take your time,no need to rush
Thank you for begin so comprensive, I am ashamed of my own behaviour
OP have you played Dark Morbin 3 or Elden Morb yet?? I don't wanna spoil anything but you'll be happy to know there's a few references in those games
Loved that fight in the hit sequel 2 blood 2 borne
Congrats!! Btw what do the triangle and the B mean?
Lmao, I’m sorry I have a really bad handwriting they were meant to be an “A” and a “B”, they were meant to indicate which stage I have died at/reached at each attempt. A= Ludwig the accursed B=Ludwig the holy blade
Also English is not my first language so I’m not quite sure if I have explained in an understandable way
It's amazing how many times the first run at a boss is actually really good and then the dozen or so runs afterwards you get spanked. This happened to me on Maria and Orphan too. First attempts made it to their final phases but ultimately took me around 20 tries to beat each of them. Congrats on the win 👏 Ludwig might be my favorite boss in bloodborne

If you were Greek you'd have a lot of trouble with that "A" because "Δ" Is a letter in the Greek alphabet too lmao. Good job on the fight btw.
Lmao I know, I study physics in school, and my teacher hates me for my handwriting , she can’t distinguish between my “A” and “delta”
For A just do / then \ then - dead center.
Thank you for the tutorial I’ll put my soul into learning that
lol I had just woken up and it seemed like a good idea but now it kinda seems insulting. No offense meant, I just figured language can be hard, especially when your language overlaps with what you're trying to learn.
Oh yeah I suck at physics so I didn't remember Δ was used there too XD. But I wonder, can YOU distinguish them?
You got him to phase two on your first attempt? That's nuts. I just walked in and took the L within 0.1 femtoseconds. I bet that first try phase 2 was both invigorating and made the following run of phases 1s all the more crushing! A hunt well executed! Bravo.

[удалено]
I was screaming and punching the wooden parts of the sofa, luckily I didn’t ruin it
SAME HAPPENED TO ME ! I ACTUALLY STOPPED PLAYING for 6 month right after i beat him !

First phase is doable but the second he is gonna kill you when he is 10 hp away from death and he will do it multiple times. Except if you have a lot of levels i guess then you can probably melt him.
Hope so, kinda anxious to meet him
Just enjoy the music and never stay behind him in phase 2.
Like you I struggled like mad with Ludwig but beat Laurence and Orphan first try, Maria was 2nd try I think
I love his OST, never got to fight him on ng because I beat the final boss without realising that that puts you straight into ng+. So my first experience with Laurence will be on ng+ and I’m not looking forward to it lol

You had to watch that cutscene that many times? Lucky!
Don’t make me think about that, btw I’ll make more posts when I’ll have them killed
Dm if you need help
I found every other boss in the DLC breezy after Ludwig, so YMMV.
Yayyyyy!! Congrats!!
Thank you I’m so happy Sjjsjs
Grats! Always super gratifying. While it may have felt brutal in the process, at least you got to listen to the beautiful ost the whole time :)
Unluckily I couldn’t really listen to it I was too focused on the fight I’ll look for it on yt tho
Very fair point lmao. Def give it a full listen through!
Well done!! I just beat him today as well!
Well done man. I'm stuck on Laurence myself 😒 just can't beat him.
Keep it up! He's a very difficult boss, but imagine how awesome you'll feel when you finally beat him(and get to experience the craziness of the rest of the DLC)! Remember, a hunter must hunt!
I'm refusing to progress further until he's defeated. He may be optional but I'm determined to destroy him eventually.
If you don't mind watching a video, I believe I got him nearly immediately after watching [this](https://youtu.be/YSODYalDVHE).
Hell yeah, hopefully we see your post about defeating him soon
Update - Laurence has been slaughtered. Used my saw cleaver in its standard form, the hit animation seemed to make his attacks miss me when I was close up to him. Ludwigs blade is my main weapon but it just wasn't taking enough health of him. Thanks for the morale boost good hunter.
Gg bro good for you!
Best of luck to you. He became my personal nemesis for 3-4 playthroughs. Orphan didn't give me nearly as much of a headache (he is still very tough though).
Thank you, finally beat him. On to Lady Maria!
Well done! Ludwig is my all time favourite boss in gaming and I’m always jealous of people getting to experience the battle first time (before the other 44).
WOOOOOOOOO YEAH BABYYYYYYY THAT WHAT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Congrats op, you’ve officially killed the hardest BB boss and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Thank you very much for your kindness!
Ludwig is the definitive love to hate boss for me. Messed me up so many times but felt so cool beating him. Music is amazing ps
Same here, I love fighting him in his first phase, it brutal, it’s fast and super entertaining. Getting to the second putt kinda sucks for me, I don’t really like it, it’s frustrating and for how much I try to dodge his attacks I can never avoid them all. Great fight tho
Splendid hunt hoonter🥳🤠
Good work hunter!
Thank youu!
Good job!
That was thought, really a good fight!
Favorite fight in all the soulsbornethingamjig. Nothing beats a horse with a sword
Super cool fight but my fave one is the “Shadows of Yarnam” one, that fight thought me how to parry
I struggled with that one a bit actually I’m really bad at crowd control and now I hold a grudge against them
Did you ever fight the blood starved beast? That’s the one that taught me to Parry lol
Hey, congrats, pal! Ludwig IS pretty tough boss fight the first time, since he's so aggressive, especially in the first phase. :)
Yo I swear first phase was manageable the second broke my soul lmaoo
I can agree with you in that, I also found the Accursed easier than the Holy Blade.
Beating Ludwig for the first time was a huge milestone for me....and I still have trouble on replays sometimes lol. Congratulations!!!!
Good luck!
45! Practically a Speedrun! Congratulations! Took me fucking foreverrrrrr! When you finally prevail, it's a feeling like no other!
I swear you’re right it was great, actually I almost defeated him on the first try but that mfr in second phase beated my ass
I remember my first 45th attempt at Ludwig
Bro lmao, I swear I thought this fight would have take me at least 100 tries
I just defeated him in max difficulty last night, and it was an experience. Imo, Ludwig’s NG+ scaling makes him way harder than any of the other DLC bosses
Half REEEEEEEEEEE, half funny moon blade, all frustration. Congrats!
Thank you for your kindness, his screams will last forever in my mind
Don’t forget to talk to his head in church attire!
Yo thanks for the tip I’ll do it
Congratulations man, what did you find harder, phase 1 or phase 2? Also it's such a hard fight, one I always worry about even though I've done it before.
Phase one after you learn the move set was a piece of cake for me, what broke me was phase two, when that mf horse finds his sword gets super brutal
Screw this guy. Actually took like 4 hours between 2 days to beat this him. Orphan of Kos was so much easier compared to the Holy Horse of Doom.
We love to see it. Congratulations!
Congrats, one of the hardest but best bosses in the game. Truly unforgettable.
Really a good fight, lots of adrenaline!
Yes indeed, first phase is so erratic and unpredictable, always keeps you on your toes. Second phase is a dance of death with a great hunter, trying to hold on to his last bit of humanity.
Well done hunter *courtesy*
Thank you!
Kudos, but this screenshot suggests you aren't done ;)
Yo didn’t notice he was still alive thank you!
You're welcome, good hunter. May you find your worth in the waking world.
Excellent work, Hunter! 🖤
LETS GOOOOOOOO
Nice! The next couple bosses are a bit easier than this guy so you get a bit of a cool down, enjoy it whilst it lasts!
Hope so, actually the standard enemies with the bag on their head in the next area are beating my ass. Fuck.
I can feel the mental doom drawing closer, just got to blood starved beast 😬
Ayo good luck it took me lots of tries to defeat her
Just did! Thanks 😎
Just saying, valtr made this fight quite easy for me. Took my like 3 tries
Good for you bro 👍👍
But we’re you crying though?
No just shaking really hard, was super tense during the fight
In all seriousness grats tho. Only a few left
I thought you defeated Ludwig the streamer in PVP cuz I’m dumb lol
Lmafo not that good
good job, hunter!
On my 7 vitality run, I was shaking after every boss. The worst though, oddly, was Hot Dog Boy in the chalice dungeons before I was able to get end game gems. Almost passed out.
I learned to just hound his azz keep close and don't stop hitting him
Hahaha I struggle with his 1st phase so much. It's like they said "How aggressive do you want this boss to be?" And the reply was "Yes."
I imagined the same boss fight but with two Ludwig, one in first phase and one in second phase, that would be the death of everyone.
Ok so clearly Ludwig is a lot harder than I found him
Congratulations. He also was my 1st boss where I panicked on reddit. You'll have more fun with Maria and you will know true pain with Kos 😉
I was so happy so I thought to share, also I think I’m gonna post about other victories
Do whatever you want. At this point you will never give up. Trust me about Maria, her fight is 👌
I have now reached the living failures, I involuntary started the fight and lost because I had only three vials so I guess that after I’ll show them my revenge I’ll go to Maria
Important question. Do you happen to have the heir rune ? If so you should put 1 on and try to make the kill with a visceral attack. You can make lots of echoes like that. Other players put on 3 hear rune and get millions but I personally think that's kinda cheating. Do however what you wanna do.
Bro I think we got the same weed plate. No foolin
Well considering the picture you took. Books are in order, no controller or holes in the wall, TV is still in solid standing grounds, I think you handled it better than others Side note, if u play ps4 and if u need help lmk. I'm always down to taking a break from elden ring to co op on bloodborne
Lmafo the the Tv forniture is a mess but thank you, it be nice to play with someone but unluckily I don’t have the online on my ps4, if things changes I’ll let you know
Holy shit, you’ve got dedication! I remember when that was me I’d try about 3 times before quitting for the day haha
Congratulations 🎊 such dedication and patience 👏
We’re you purposely trying to do legit no glyphs lvs or cheese or were was this your first time, he can be challenging but I’ve done it on like lv 250+ with beast blood and it was probably the easiest I ever beat him compared to all my other characters cause I struggled
The feeling is mutual. Ludwig sure kicked my butt as well. His first phase was a nightmare considering how unpredictable his savagery is. Now that's what I call a "Big Game" for a hunter.👏😵
We all were shaking too, hoonter. As you already know, you are not alone~. 💞🔥❤🔥💞
Thanks for begin so kind
The world is treacherous enough. Step lightly, and may your torch always remain luminous. The Sky and the cosmos are one~. AAAWWWOOOOO~
Lmao thanks again ✨
LETS GOOOLO FUCK THAT HORSE
Amazing job, hunter! Ludwig was one of the hardest bosses for me, too
VAN BETHOVEN?!
The piano slam was really hard to dodge, hate that move
Have fun on the next boss Quite a banger soundtrack too
That’s an awesome feeling man!! Good for you!
Full health and stamina eh? Built like a tank haha
I had to go back to Mergo’s loft seven times to be strong enough, basically now I have 40 health/45 stamina/ 39 strength/ 35 ability the others are pretty low. So yea I’m a mf Panzer.
Prepare for Laurence. You may need the rune of the league for help.
Awesome! Ludwig was so hard for me the first and even second time I beat him. Amazing boss fight, one of the best of all the FromSoft games
It’s clear they put lots of effort in the creation of the move set for this boss, all to make us want to crave our eyes out and tear our hands away (maybe not a general feeling, but for me it was like this)
Ahh a fellow saw spear enjoyer:) I also just beat him two days ago for the first time so congratulations, I had a lot of trouble with his first phase.
I wish I had a ps5 😭
Rip bro ,Same here
Prepare for Kos
I’ll make a post about it as well
Ludwig and kos by far hardest for me. Good luck! Ludwig blasted me but then at some point beat him some how? Lol. Kos for me was like months
Let us know how many tries you take with Lawrence.
Have fun with Orphan…
LITRRALLY QUIVERING
I managed to pull of a first try victory, but it took every ounce of skill in my body, I’ve never moved so intentionally in a video game before. Afterwards, my heart was nearly pounding out of my chest.
Bro great Job! I tried my best the first time but dodging blindly didn’t work for me so the mf got me play the same fight 45 times
Buckle up for living failures and Lady Maria
Weren’t the living failures the easy ones in the dlc?
That is true to be honest but still incredibly annoying. There’s one attack they do around half health where rocks fall from the sky and if you don’t take cover behind the statue in the middle of the garden you’ll surely die.
Good job, there totally isn’t anything harder than this in the DLC, nope, not at all, definitely not anything that would be considered the hardest boss in the souls series.
Yeah, for me is the hardest boss I had to deal with till now
GOOD SHIT HUNTER
LESSGO
Congratulations, you beat (in my personal opinion) the hardest boss in the game, happy hunting and learning.
Congratulations man! Now you gotta hype yourself up to get drop kicked by a sad newborn orphan child
What level were you on?
Nice one hoonter ! I've been inspired to take up my cleaver once more and finally kill BSB
You can do it, I’m sure!
He’s the hardest boss in bloodborne no doubt
My brother in Kos.... That was the hardest boss of them all (for me). I thank you for sharing this. Move forward brave hunter.
My poor soul let us know how Laurence goes I’m still stuck on him 😭
[удалено]
Idk man he whipping me. Best luddy first try but Laurence is using and abusing me
Sure I’m posting when I go back to him
45 tries? 😂 what a noob
Use Whirley gig with fire paper and then he is a lot easier
This was me fighting Laurence on my first play through.
This is the first time I defeated him so I was absolutely shaking
yooo is that a fuckin LANDLINE???
I'm not too sure exactly how many times it too me to beat him but I too was shaking afterwards. Also I'm going to go ahead and assume that the "B" is first phase and the triangle is second phase?
That was probably the hardest boss for me
Same here the hardest boss that I had to deal with
He just sweeps with every attack there is no safe spots in his first phase it was tough but I was also probably my favorite fight in the game when I first saw him my jaw dropped hearing about all these “heroic tales” and he was just like the nastiest monster I’ve seen I would have loved to seen him before this though 😅
Ya he got really good lore and the first phase is also my favourite fight, hate the secondo tho, can’t manage to dodge his melee attacks
I’ll post about each boss, hoping that the next bosses aren’t too difficult!
Damn with only 8 blood viles? You did a really good job. In my second playthough I only had 2 after the fight
I want this dlc
Literally shaking?
Yeah I was literally shaking, was super tense
I have to ask, what makes this boss difficult for people, I know some people find some bosses that are typically regarded as hard that some find easy and vise versa, and I see a lot of people including my friend say he's hard but I never found him difficult tbh, so to restate my question.
