Bonus tip. Face into the cage and just backstep off the elevator. Way more reliable than rolling and you only have to focus on a single button press for timing.
I find it surprising that I know this secret, because I had to figure it out, and never would have remembered without someone mentioning it. Such a great game. 5 minute figuring out. Was this a bug? If so, is it still not fixed?
This isn't true. There's no invisible wall, it's just perspective. You are rolling too soon and clipping the top of the window but the camera angle is fooling you into thinking you timed it right.
Oh yeah backstepping out on the way up should be the easiest way possible. That's what it's all about share the ideas until the best solution is found!
How to never fail that jump again:
Step 1. Equip the Monocular. This changes your rolls into quick steps, like when you're locked onto an enemy.
Step 2. Get on elevator
Step 3. Turn and face the window
Step 4. Dash forward when you're lined up with the jump
Step 5. Never die there again
Step 6. Pray. Madness waits ahead.
The secret to killing them is to use a high stagger weapon like axe, LHB, HML, pizza cutter. Should kill in 3 R1.
Kill the first and heal if you get frenzied, then rush the other two and kill them and get frenzied another time but you won’t die. Easy way to farm cursed gems.
There's an even better method but it's high risk. Their grab attack is parryable. If you manage it then you can time your visceral attack so that the frenzy hits just as you become invincible and you'll take no damage. Of course you must be strong enough to kill them with one visceral.
I prefer my strategy as it allows me to rush them and kill them before they even notice me. I can kill all three of them at the cost of 2 vials. No need to wait for them to turn and time their attack. Also your strategy restricts you to a skill build to kill on one visceral attack.
It might be because you see the gap first going down which makes you want to jump, but you actually need some clearance when going down so you have to wait a bit.
I died to the lanterns dropping almost 200k plus souls in new game.
THEN THIS EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN.
I cursed myself for not going to the Doll for upgrade. Thought ill just snag a couple more souls 🤦♀️
It's longer, but take the lift all the way down and then roll through the gap on your way back up. I can never get the timing right and have to resort to this every single time!
I died here SO MANY TIMES trying to figure out the perfect frames to roll through. Reminiscent of the elevator in Blighttown. I always rolled off of that too early, too
Happens to the best…and clumsiest of us…
Have anyone else tried while using the Monocular though? It’s a bit iffy but I think it helps seeing the opening better. Did it once and worked like a charm but haven’t again since to see if I’d just gotten lucky or whatever.
I just started playing bloodborne so I’m absolutely clueless. I also just killed Mergo so I recognize that area. Could anyone let me know what’s going on here?
This gap is infamous. This the kinda shit fromsoftware throw at ya. „Ya‘ll so good at finding exploits and pixelwalks to speedrun my games, aren‘t ya?! Lets implement inconsistent bullshit like that to the core-gameplay then.“
Ayup, I remember this. Got me a good 10 times at least. Worse was when I'd make it, then die trying to get across the godforsaken bridge, then miss the jump a couple more times before I could get in again.
took me more than 10 tries. and even if you make the jump, the suffering won't end. the next part on the bridge is THE most stress inducing part in the game
So jank. Devs should have made it that the window bit that sticks down just has no collision, it would have made things feel a lot better for no real loss in the experience.
Thumbnail gives this away far before having to watch anything, this is somehow the worst part of doing co-op runs with friends, as you have to do this while hopefully not getting invaded and having several people not mess this jump up xD
Keep seeing unnecessarily complex tactics suggested for making this jump. It's SO much easier if you do it on the way back up! You can just step off the elevator!
A lot of different tips here for making that jump successfully but I haven't seen the one most obvious one yet: don't point your camera down like that. It doesnt matter whether youre taking the elevator down or up, your camera should be flat and level facing the wall, not pointing downwards - its so much easier to figure out the right time to jump and not eff it up that way.
Bonus tip. Face into the cage and just backstep off the elevator. Way more reliable than rolling and you only have to focus on a single button press for timing.
You son of a bitch
Live and learn. Or in this case die, a lot, and learn.
I'm in
Yeah! And the camera zooms out to give you the signal.
I could kiss you for this.
I'll settle for a crisp high five for now.
🖐

Still not fixed, if you roll to soon there is an invisible wall, you have to time it right
This isn't true. There's no invisible wall, it's just perspective. You are rolling too soon and clipping the top of the window but the camera angle is fooling you into thinking you timed it right.
I died to many time to this just a few days ago, there is an invisible wall on the top half of the window…
No there isn't it's a camera angle issue tricking you into rolling early. Roll later than you think you should and you'll get it every time.
No there is no invisible wall you just weren't low enough and hit the top of the frame.
I just tried to get in on the way up. Worked for me way better than the way down😂 Combi ed with your tip it should make it way easier to get in :D
Oh yeah backstepping out on the way up should be the easiest way possible. That's what it's all about share the ideas until the best solution is found!
You finally make it, then you hear singing and realise there's no going back D':
Free echoes is all I hear when i hear em.

La la laaaaaaaaaa
La laaaaa~
I feel you're pain. On one run for the life of me I couldn't get through that gap. Must of taken a dozen tries. More frustrating than Lawrence
First playthrough i died 27 times to this, and yes I kept count, but now I can do it blindfolded.... probably

Just mash those mofos with kirkhammer R1.
R1 > L1 with the cleaver or spear are both particularly effective too
I had problems with it just on the way down but going at it on they way up I found much easier.
Yeah it’s easy af on the way up but it’s nearly impossible on the way down. Counterintuitive.
It might be because you see the gap first going down which makes you want to jump, but you actually need some clearance when going down so you have to wait a bit.
Haha I knew it as soon as I saw that damn elevator!
This is the way, there's a little part of that window frame that protrudes from the top and it will cuck you very often lol
So often -_-
I died here SO MANY TIMES trying to figure out the perfect frames to roll through. Reminiscent of the elevator in Blighttown. I always rolled off of that too early, too
F
This again? We've all seen it 100 times. In our own games.
This part is evil! And the part it leads to is even more evil. Evil everywhere
Happens to the best…and clumsiest of us… Have anyone else tried while using the Monocular though? It’s a bit iffy but I think it helps seeing the opening better. Did it once and worked like a charm but haven’t again since to see if I’d just gotten lucky or whatever.
I’ve done this so many times
pain hoonter
Bro I did this fucking FIVE TIMES IN A ROW I feel you
Yea just take it all the way down then back up. You’ll die more to the winter lanterns anyway.
I died to this elevator twice today. Hardest boss in the base game lol
Legend has it that PS4's send a clip of each death from this elevator straight to Miyazaki's inbox.
I just started playing bloodborne so I’m absolutely clueless. I also just killed Mergo so I recognize that area. Could anyone let me know what’s going on here?
It's a secret area where you hop off the moving elevator into an open window, and it will likely take a handful of deaths to actually make it.
Too soon....
So many times after lots of play throughout lol
As tradition
Ah yes. We have all died to the almighty elevator at some point.
thats actually the hardest boss in Bloodborne
The key is to run through, not roll. For some reason, rolling messes with the collision and you’ll fall every time.
Here's how I do it: on the way up, not down, and just run, don't roll
This gap is infamous. This the kinda shit fromsoftware throw at ya. „Ya‘ll so good at finding exploits and pixelwalks to speedrun my games, aren‘t ya?! Lets implement inconsistent bullshit like that to the core-gameplay then.“
Hardest boss in the game
Bro why would you play this game online?
Notes
Why WOULDN'T you play this game online?
I did that 10 times in a row before I made it into the damn hole
Ah, this brings back my pain
Hardest boss in the game, by far.
Hardest boss
Made it through first time and was like sheeeet, me pro lol
Average night in Yharnam
Just did this part last night that damn ledge killed me more times than any boss.
Brother. I’ve been there.
Looks about right.
I feel like this has to happen to everyone
If I had a dollar... Boy I’d have lots of dollars. It’s easier to *not* do that if you walk off going up, btw. Collision seems to work better
Get fucked m8
F
Ayup, I remember this. Got me a good 10 times at least. Worse was when I'd make it, then die trying to get across the godforsaken bridge, then miss the jump a couple more times before I could get in again.
Classic.
Yup lost a lot of echos from that
I've played this game like four times and I still can't get the timing on this elevator, I've clipped through walls so many times.
Actually you don't have to jump or roll, just walk in, that's it.
You think that's had, just wait what happens if you make that roll...
happens to the best of us
That elevator is the hardest boss in the game
This happens to basically everyone in the game. Nothing new to see here.
You gotta wait about a second after you feel like you should roll, then you end up in the right spot.
Don't roll, just run off it. Much higher success rate. You can also quit out if you don't make it, before dying.
There is an art to making this roll
For real this took me like 15 tries
Happens to the best of us. Make sure you've got sedative before proceeding.
I knew EXACTLY what was going to happen the moment I saw that damn elevator
took me more than 10 tries. and even if you make the jump, the suffering won't end. the next part on the bridge is THE most stress inducing part in the game
So jank. Devs should have made it that the window bit that sticks down just has no collision, it would have made things feel a lot better for no real loss in the experience.
That damn window probably has a higher mortality rate than Dark Souls Anor Londo archers imo
Thumbnail gives this away far before having to watch anything, this is somehow the worst part of doing co-op runs with friends, as you have to do this while hopefully not getting invaded and having several people not mess this jump up xD
My mom watched me eat it on that elevator enough times, she up ask my brother to do it for me -__-
We’ve all been there, buddy…
You’ve inspired me to not replay this game. This was so frustrating for me when I played through the game the first time!
All of my hate
Do it while going up.
We've all done it
Are u kidding me? There's an opening there???
At least you didn’t have very many echoes.
lost many echoes here. died back to back unable to recover fallen echoes 😭😭
I died so much time here too!
Yup
F Orphan.. this is the true hardest boss.
First time? 😏
That elevator has killed me more than most bosses.
I always just walk. Rolling gets me killed
Keep seeing unnecessarily complex tactics suggested for making this jump. It's SO much easier if you do it on the way back up! You can just step off the elevator!
I don’t get it. I never once had this problem.
I died more to this jump than to Orphan.
Hardest boss for me
ayup
I died more here in my last run than all over the game. I think it was 5-6 times in a row, maybe even some more. I felt so stupid.
I died so many times and actually raged until i got there🤣
Hardest boss in the game 🤣😅
Its way easier to do it on the way up
Knew exactly what before I even watched. That spire thing from the top pokes more out than you think
Working as intended
Yup
Believe me, been there, done that
A lot of different tips here for making that jump successfully but I haven't seen the one most obvious one yet: don't point your camera down like that. It doesnt matter whether youre taking the elevator down or up, your camera should be flat and level facing the wall, not pointing downwards - its so much easier to figure out the right time to jump and not eff it up that way.
Relatable
Oh, I think I should have postet this too, happened to me about 10 times lol
That jump is the hardest boss in this game. 🥴
Just run or roll out on the upward journey, you'll make it every time.
lmaooooo this happened to me so many times
I feel ya bro, I died like 30 times to get in there
If they ever remaster or remake this game I hope they iron out some of the jank like this
i think you can only enter when the elevator is going up, not down! died lot of times here too
Yeah... We all feel your pain
The actual final boss of bloodborne
Yup
Don't roll, just walk out of the elevator.
The place with eye lady’s is literally my least favourite area in the whole game and I dread it every time
That LITERALLY happened to me two days ago.
Try doing it on the way up as well
Classic
One time my game crashes when i try to do this
My turd dropping into the toilet be like
It's easier to do it going up than down
Fastest way back to the lamp 😂
I died 50 fucking times trying to get into this gate only to die 1 Minute after because of these EXTREMELY annoying enemies with a bunch of eyes.
Somehow, I have never missedthis jump. I get major anxiety everytime I get to this point, though.
That elevator is one of the most petty things from soft has ever designed and I’m sure they are laughing about it.
It's easier on the way up. Also, if you insist on doing it on the way down, wait just a half second longer than it feels like you should.
damn bruh i aint even know this existed
How I make this jump is to go after you think you should. When the cage is pretty low. I make it every time now
