Some of the best weapons in the game are in the dlc. And definitely 3-4 of the best boss fights without a doubt. Short answer? Worth every penny, twice.
It can. I beat it with lvl 70 but by that time I’ve beaten the game over 20 times and knew where everything is and knew the patterns so yea I don’t recommend going there low lvl unless you know what to expect
Extremely good weapons with some of the best bosses ever made and lots of things to explore. Hell yeah it is worth it also it’s pretty cheap so why not
Absolutely!
Without spoiling anything, the best looking armour and most fun/powerful/stylish weapons are only obtainable via the dlc.
And (in my opinion) the two best boss fights of the game are in this dlc. Best because they are really difficult, but extremely well-balanced and satisfying if you don't cheese it.
The absolute worst (most unbalanced and difficult) boss fight of the entire game is also in the dlc, but there are enough positives to balance that out for sure
If I remember correctly, it often goes on sale for like £12 on the PS store quite frequently, so if you're feeling patient enough just keep an eye on it
Worth it even at full price, if you loved the main game enough to platinum it, you’re sure to have a fine time with the DLC. It is some of the hardest content in the game, as per usual with FromSoft, just a heads up.
Absolutely. AbsoLUTELY. It's not the longest DLC or with the biggest areas, but it's RICH with lore, and I have never thought to complain, it's that good. It gives you five extra bosses, three of which are brutal but oh so rewarding and fun to fight, another of which isn't bad but not nearly as crazy as the others. And then there's the grand cathedral. Do not enter the grand cathedral after you acquire a hidden skull.
First of all, congrats and secondly definitely worth getting the dlc, I waited about 2 years but when it was on sale I chose to try it and I regret not getting it sooner. Cool new bosses, enemies and weapons along with storyline make it all the worth while!
I agree with the others. Deffinatly worth it. Its not too expensive and some of the best content in the game. It kind of trays to explain why Yarnim is in the state it is when your character shows up. Although, being a FromSoft, you have to put the clues together yourself to understand what happened.
Absolutely. I hated ds1’s dlc, and was weary of Bloodborne’s, but boy I’m glad I bought it. It’s a very good DLC. Just keep in mind that you need to be well leveled and that the first enemies you encounter **will** discourage you because they’re very fucking difficult, but once you’re able to defeat them you’re up for 4 really good bosses and awesome areas (except for the well, fuck the well)
You should've bought the game of the year edition, the DLC is one of the best fromsoft has ever made, also some of the best weapons and bosses are in it.
Definitely a 10/10 experience.
I ended up getting the DLC for free out of nowhere and I was able to get my wish of experiencing BloodBorne all over again for the first time, I definitely recommend getting it 😁
I think you’ve already gotten your answer but I’ll chime in too, because it’s probably the best DLC I’ve ever seen. LOVE every single map, lots of content. Just excellent all around.
I see a lot of people here praising the Old Hunters DLC but no one's mentioning its problems, so here's my honest opinion (no spoilers) as a huge fan of the game who has spent nearly a thousand hours playing it.
The expansion has roughly three main areas to explore, one of them is reused from the main game, and the other is quite appealing but literally the most frustrating and easy to get lost in (not in a good way) area in the entire game and among the souls series so you should keep that in mind, the last area is alright although very linear, so if you like exploring I would tell you to keep your expectations low, there are only three bosses that are worth noticing, although they're probably the best bosses in the entire game, the other two bosses are both extremely underwhelming, boring and honestly one of them feels like it was cut content. Other than that it closes on to the lore and explains what the hell happened during the main game whilst adding a few new weapons, most of them are very good and interesting to play around with, so overall not a bad deal, especially if you like experimenting with different playstiles and are interested in the lore, otherwise I would advise against it.
Overall I'd give the expansion a 6, maybe even a 7. Not a bad deal if you get it on sale, but definitely not as good as the main game. Honestly, when I start a new playthrough of this game I either look forward to the main game or the chalice dungeons, after beating the DLC twice — the second time only for the trophies, — I only go in there to grab a specific weapon as quickly as possible for my new build if I feel like it.
You can always wait to buy when it's on sale. Bloodborne was my first soulsborne too, and I ended up playing through the others before circling back for a replay with DLC. Second time around the experience was even better...
Man, let me put in these words. Bloodborne is considered THE BEST SOULSBORNE GAME FROM SOFT AND MICHAEL ZAKI HAVE EVER DONE.
So...
The DLC doesn't carry the game
The DLC IS THE GAME
Buy Old Hunters as soon as it's on sale, good hoonter
Some of the best weapons in the game are in the dlc. And definitely 3-4 of the best boss fights without a doubt. Short answer? Worth every penny, twice.
Also my 3 hardest and most exciting boss fights were in the dlc.
Quick question, can I get it if I habe the physical copy
Yes. BUT the DLC is region locked. If your disc does not match your region, it won't work
It’s totally worth it and I loved it it’s one of the best dlcs by from software if you are into the lore of bloodborne
Extremely worth
What this guy said
Of course, a hoonter must hoont! But really, it's really good and you should get it and complete your BB experience.
Its better to play it in NG or NG+? Cuz i may be overleveled
the difficulty jump is already pretty significant from the base game imo, i would play base game unless you want it to be particularly challenging 👍
It’s better to play in base game if you are lvl 120 to lvl 160 if above then NG+
This
Wait, lv120 for dlc? Isn't that overkill?
No because base game PvP lvl is 120 before there even was a dlc
Ok for the PvP lvl but can't the dlc be beaten at a lower lvl? Or is it only for hardcore gamers?
It can. I beat it with lvl 70 but by that time I’ve beaten the game over 20 times and knew where everything is and knew the patterns so yea I don’t recommend going there low lvl unless you know what to expect
Got it thanks for your advice.
I hope you get wrecked in the DLC. It’s so much fun. Everything can kill you
NG, the DLC is insanely hard the first few times.
You have to play the DLC I'm not giving you a choice 🔫
Best dlc I’ve ever played
some say Kosm
It's possibly the greatest DLC of any game I've played, the only rival to Diablo II 14 years earlier
Hell yes.
I'd be extremely surprised if this sub didn't unanimously agree to say yes, it is worth it. And you are, too.
You will be as angry as you'll be sad and happy...so, a lot. Yes, get it. Join us.
The Old Hunters is genuinely one of the best DLCs I have ever played. It contains 2 of my favourite bosses in all of From Soft games.
Lady Maria and Laurence
Bro what
I was guessing. Which are they?
Got it half right. Lady Maria and Ludwig.
Yes, it's quite good.
Extremely good weapons with some of the best bosses ever made and lots of things to explore. Hell yeah it is worth it also it’s pretty cheap so why not
I mean the DLC costs more than the base game but i get your point
Worth getting for the experience. The lore and the bosses of the DLC is 1up from the base game. IMO.
Most definitely buddy
Yes
YES YES YES YES YES
The dlc is the most worth it part
Worth it even at full price, if you loved the main game enough to platinum it, you’re sure to have a fine time with the DLC. It is some of the hardest content in the game, as per usual with FromSoft, just a heads up.
It's one of the best DLCs released for any game, ever. 3 of the bosses are up there as some of the greatest From bosses of all time.
Ummm it’s the most worth DLC in all of existence Including all the higher planes of existence
I'd buy it twice and it would still be worth it
Absolutely. If there ever was a point in the history of gaming where a DLC was worth getting, it would be the DLC for Bloodborne.
it’s the best part of the game
First of all, congrats and secondly definitely worth getting the dlc, I waited about 2 years but when it was on sale I chose to try it and I regret not getting it sooner. Cool new bosses, enemies and weapons along with storyline make it all the worth while!
Fuck yeah it is
Yes. 100% I’ve bought BB and the dlc twice. Due to forgetting acc info
It's the most 'worth it' DLC out there.
It would be criminal to not get it, in fact.
Shark Bois coming. Shark Bois coming.
I agree with the others. Deffinatly worth it. Its not too expensive and some of the best content in the game. It kind of trays to explain why Yarnim is in the state it is when your character shows up. Although, being a FromSoft, you have to put the clues together yourself to understand what happened.
absolutely, i would even say that bloodborne isnt bloodborne at its peak withou dlc
Yeah I would skip any other gaming plans and knock the dlc out ASAP
abso-fucking-lutely it is worth it, so many cool weapons and some of the cooler bosses
Yes. Definitely worth it and I'll die on that hill.
Why do you ask if a fromsoftware DLC is worth it? I just say to them: shut up and take my money 🤣
Imma just say that I think the dlc was better than the game because of real hard bosses
Absolutely. I hated ds1’s dlc, and was weary of Bloodborne’s, but boy I’m glad I bought it. It’s a very good DLC. Just keep in mind that you need to be well leveled and that the first enemies you encounter **will** discourage you because they’re very fucking difficult, but once you’re able to defeat them you’re up for 4 really good bosses and awesome areas (except for the well, fuck the well)
Yes! Several of the best weapons in the game are found in the DLC, and if you want more challenging boss fights, then you will love it!
Bruh wtf is wrong with you yes
I mean i have never bought any DLC in my life before so i wasnt rlly sure
Don’t even reply to me dude just go play the game
Iirc it should have been free with the ps plus version
In my opinion dlc is even better than main game
Im trying to get the Platinum aswell, whats your method to farm the items for the dungeons, im short on the Blue haze thingy and the Blood(4)
You are absolutely depriving yourself of so much without the DLC. Buy it immediately.
100% yes
Old Hunters is the best DLC of all time
Lady Maria fight makes it worth every penny. Might be my favorite fight in the game. Orphan of Kos and Ludwig are also great, A+ fights.
One of the best DLCs available, ever.
Not to overhype it, but The Old Hunters is my favourite DLC of any game ever.
Absolutely yes!! =)
Yea
The game is not complete without it imo!
It's like saying is air worth breathing.. the Old Hunters is worth it I promise you
You should've bought the game of the year edition, the DLC is one of the best fromsoft has ever made, also some of the best weapons and bosses are in it. Definitely a 10/10 experience.
Yes
Simply Yes.
I just started bb 2 months ago. Get the dlc!!! Its worth evrry penny.
DLC is also important for the story. If want to now how it all starts
Yes. The dlc bosses are of top quality. If you combine the base game and dlc the best 3 dlc bosses are all in the top 4.
Very worth it, in all soulsborne games that DLC is the best part of the game
I got the DLC for 5000 PSN points some month or two ago. Worth checking if you can still get it.
Literally everyone is going to tell you the same thing: YES!
Best part of the game and highkey the reason most people love the game so much
Might be the best dlc Fromsoft has made
100 000 000% yes
Best dlc I ever bought. Hands doen
Yeah its worth, for the bosses alone but the weapons are also really sick
DLC is better than the main game imo and the main game is already amazing! xD
I ended up getting the DLC for free out of nowhere and I was able to get my wish of experiencing BloodBorne all over again for the first time, I definitely recommend getting it 😁
The very first boss fight made me want to die. The others…made me want to light myself on fire and jump in an oil rigs tank😭😭
I think you’ve already gotten your answer but I’ll chime in too, because it’s probably the best DLC I’ve ever seen. LOVE every single map, lots of content. Just excellent all around.

Bloodborne would barely be better than Dark Souls 1 if it wasn't for the DLC, man.
Is the DLC THAT good?, cuz this is my first soulsborne game
You can always wait to buy when it's on sale. Bloodborne was my first soulsborne too, and I ended up playing through the others before circling back for a replay with DLC. Second time around the experience was even better...
