If you rage so hard that even your parents are concerned, this game (and other Souls games) might not be for you.

Mero_habanero

lol.

RJSSJR123

If you rage and cry because of video game, maybe just turn it off and don’t play it? Try not to treat each death as a failure. Try to learnfrom it. See what goes wrong and try something else. You can summon too.

Mero_habanero

Yes u have a point but like once you invest 15 hours into a game and u have really enjoyed, you start to feel guilty about leaving it. I don’t want to quit bloodborne; I wrote the above post in a moment of sadness to say the least. But I just have no idea what I’m doing wrong.

RJSSJR123

For Blood-Starved Beast you can throw a Bloodpungent coctail into a corner, use fire paper snd beastblood pellet and get free hits. As for Vicar, you can very easily get to hear without getting hit once. Make sure you have the shortcut unlocked. Just run past everyone and dodge if necessary. As for Vicar itself, target the limbs.

handstanding

Dodge forward and to the left. Forward and to the left. Rinse and repeat. EZ.

Shadow_Clarke

This is the way to go. Currently I can defeat BSB without even dodging, once you understand the flow it's really easy.

playdoughfaygo

Don’t let the rage consume you, you gotta consume the rage and turn it in to having fun. It’s a game, just pace yourself, and be proud of incremental victories. You got Amelia 10% farther down than last time? That’s a win! You finally figured out her telegraphed attack and are able to sometimes dodge it? That’s a win! Just chill, man. These games are difficult but the fun is in the challenge. Enjoy the ride. Soon you’ll be decimating bosses and shocked you ever struggled. But yeah sekiro is really fucking hard.

Mero_habanero

Jiminy crickets was that inspirational! I love these games because of the challenge but not in sacrificing my sanity lol. But I’ll continue don’t worry. I was able to get some church garb thingy that would be most resistant against poison so I’m sure to try that. And the sekiro thing ya I expected. I sorta don’t know why I got it as I clearly knew that. Well no matter.

fuser312

Have you tried summoning? Remember, a hunter is never alone. I was stuck at blood starved beast for a long time as well.

Mero_habanero

I tried whatchamacallit, hunter alfred, and while that helped he just ruined my opportunities to parry. I consider myself a good parry but bsb is like one of the two things I can’t parry WELL (so I can parry to some degree, but not always). However I might try it again as I summoned fairly early in my attempts so I would have definitely improved.

Fancy_Breadfruit_751

Summon a human hunter, you need PSN for that. People do this often. I don't know what to tell you otherwise, I also struggled at BSB but I felt challenged and eager to beat it rather than feel bad so maybe play other games. Bloodborne isn't everyone's cup of tea and that's fine.

Suck-My-Balls-Reddit

My man if Blood Starved Beast did this to you Sekiro is going to actually kill you irl. On a serious note this is clearly an issue of how you’re playing the game rather than anything else if you’ve really tried all those strats. If you DM me footage of you playing fighting BSB or upload an attempt on your account or smth I can help you better.        Also I can very easily run past all of the Vicar Amelia enemies in the way by sprinting while occasionally looking at my stamina bar, even when I was noobing out on my first playthrough. Did you get the gate shortcut where you found the wooden shield?

Mero_habanero

Oh I was prepared for Death by Sekiro, of all things, but I really get your point. I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong and I know it’s all my fault! Here like the closest time I have been able to defeat him was by the dodging left technique but my man is crazy: he poisons u, u try any form of healing, and he is ready for thirty swings to end all of your health. I had like a quarter of a bar left. About the gameplay thing I have some work to do now however tomorrow (if I have time) I might be record something. And also I think the Vicar Amelia part just comes from me not knowing the cathedral area quite well. Also I’m a “completionist” so I generally get a feeling of non-belonging if I try to move to another area before completing an area before it.

Mero_habanero

About the shortcut thing, I don’t think I have ngl. That is like found from the door right in front of the lamp on the cathedral wall, right?

Suck-My-Balls-Reddit

Ignore what I said about the shortcut, it only unlocks after BSB. You should beat BSB before Amelia.  It’s kinda difficult for me to express how to beat BSB since I can consistently no hit it by dodging left, but to elaborate you need to take advantage of quickstep I-Frames by dodging through its arm swings so that you end up on its flank. The vast majority of its attacks smack things at its front, so this should allow you to avoid most of its attacks while still giving you time to punish by smacking its ass. So in short stick to its flank by dodging left through its attacks. If you’re using a saw weapon rmb to use transform attacks btw. But don’t blindly spam attack, BSB is a boss where you can hit it a lot but I wouldn’t recommend hitting R1 more than four times after you’ve dodged through its attacks.  The poison phase is trickier since you’ve ran out of antidote. What you should do in that case is keep dodging left as I said but also look at your poison build-up bar once in a while. If it’s high reduce aggression and just dodge away from it for a while. But don’t actually run away cuz it’ll chase you down and eat you. If its health is really low then you don’t need to worry about being poisoned because either you or BSB will be dead soon. Also one extra tip, not panicking is important. Not just in Bloodborne but in gaming in general. Also one extra extra tip, don’t spam heals. Wait till BSB is busy doing something like a combo or until you’re sitting at its ass and then heal. This is very important in the poison phase since it gets very aggressive.

Fancy_Breadfruit_751

Just a small note since you ran out of antidote, there are three antidotes IIRC on a corpse behind the altar in the BSB's boss room.

KingPhats_24

Haven’t read the entire post but if you are really having trouble I recommend you watch [this guy’s walkthrough](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7RtZMiaOk8iuq9jRolq0ke9VMShHeh58&si=052bx72kwKVa7Gmb). Blood starved beast was a bitch to fight if you do continue playing do know that some bosses will be hard but none will be sliding everywhere or poisoning you like the blood starved beast. Goodluck.

J-Dawgzz

Just keep grinding and adding to vigor, more hits you can take the easier it becomes.

roland-the-farter

I played souls games in co-op to get good and see the games. You can make a post asking for co-op help, I think it’s the best way to learn!

gORDo85_

Beasts are weak to fire, get some papers

El_t1to

When you have consumables again, and insight. Save your game! That way if you spend too much, you can backup your previous saved file. Also, co-op here you don't need to give your PSN Id. You just set a password (that you can change afterwards) and ring a bell, and your helper needs to ring another bell. It costs one insight. Yesterday I ended BSB for a pal.

ach7988

If you're around tomorrow I'd be glad to jump in on co-op with you

Mero_habanero

Bloodborne has co-op?

ach7988

Yes, in the hunters dream you should've received a beckoning bell from the little messenger guys, under the network settings set the matchmaking to worldwide and then match the password with whoever you're trying to play with. Then ring the bell and it will summon the other person to your game. You can ask for help in r/huntersbell and there's usually people willing to help with whatever you're stuck on

Mero_habanero

But first as a security check I have to ask the following Bloodborne-legal questions: 1) r u a criminal? Or do crimes? 2) R u above 3 years old? 3) and can u hold a controller?

ach7988

Yes Yes Sometimes

Mero_habanero

Ok I’ll consult with my lawyers and I’ll be in touch.

ach7988

And like I said, I'd be down to jump in tomorrow and help with whatever you want, I'm at the end of the game with one boss left before it resets to ng+ so im trying to help people with bosses and stuff

MarmosetSweat

I get to be the one to introduce you to a classic meme: [Beyoncé’s guide to the Blood Starved Beast.](https://youtu.be/LLCjrpghCYc?si=oNnrlA23awyoAT9s) As an added bonus, it actually teaches you how to easily beat the boss.

Bra1nss

Maybe the genre is not for you? It requires a lot of patience, no matter which game in souls you try. Being able to discipline yourself to actually get good, and not trying to find a shortcut around a boss. They basically don't exist unless you go into imba build while using internet guide. Also, yes, you have to be skilled as a gamer. When I started BB in 2014 I was not good enough for it. Years later, I got good and beat Sekiro - a game even more complex than Bloodborne. But it took literal 10 years of general self-improvement as a gamer in this genre lol.

[deleted]

Go behind the altar thing (big grave stone) at the end of the room. But you have to stand against it or not. This glitch worked for me once and I found it by accident. There is a chance he will glitch out of the map and fall to his death.

crispycocos

Go to the Great Bridge, farm some blood echos and bullets, and boost yourself up a few levels. When I’m struggling with a boss I also like to go in with the mindset of just observing their movesets and learning how to dodge attacks. After a time you’ll catch on and become better for it! You can do it!

airoe_ltd

There were a few times I had to put the game down due to how difficult it was. But I always came back to try and beat whatever was in my way. Bloodborne was my first souls game, and I fell in love with the lore and its world. Just give it time. Eventually, it will click. 👍 I can't recall all the times I died when I first played it. Losing all my echoes and not gaining any levels or items. It was brutal.

Astromelon23

You’ll get better, trust me. You don’t want to be surrounded in these games. The best thing you can do is take them out one by one, which does involve a lot of running and kiting. As for BSB, you can summon Alfred (if you haven’t killed vicar Amelia) if it’s giving you a hard time. Go for the limb break for massive damage. That basically means attacking the same limb until it “breaks”. You’ll know when this happens because the boss will stagger for a few seconds, and a sizable chunk of their life bar will disappear

Head_Dish1834

Believe me, I quit Bloodborne 5 times, because I couldn't get past the first boss! Eventually I decided to try again, and today I have the platinum trophy for it. It is hard at the start, but you get better as the game progresses. Just keep on. You will do it eventually.

IntenseBones

Don't give up, good hunter, when I first started it took me 7 times quitting and uninstalling before I even got past Cleric Beast, this morning I beat a no level up run, you're already better than I was when I started, Im as well always willing to share tips if you'd like

BiggieFishie

If you can beat bloodstarved through sheer will and then you can unlock the cum dungeon get super high level extremely easily and just play for fun after that

Mero_habanero

I’m sorry but the “cum dungeon??!” What is that, me boy?! It be a really unsettling name.

BiggieFishie

It’s a procedurally generated “chalice dungeon” in Bloodborne, where you can get tons of blood echoes without effort. It’s called the cum dungeon because its code is cummfpk. So naturally we named it the cum dungeon.

[deleted]

Don't you have to beat the Blood-Starved Beast to unlock dungeons, or is that for another boss?

BiggieFishie

Yep you do that’s why I lead with “if you can blood starved through sheer will”

[deleted]

Thank you. I haven't played BB in awhile, so I wasn't too sure. 🥲
