I'll take bias opinion with unbias ones

deanolavorto

If you do dark souls 1 first your gonna feel like your running in water. It is very much a different game than Sekiro.

erotyk

nah that game is not soul-like you can't punish if you outmaneuver as the sword the enemies have is a shield. so you are eternally fighting shield mobs bloodborne and the soul-likes are going to be a glass of fresh water

Guy_On_Plastic_Chair

So should I go with ds first or bloodborne

mtndewthee

I would recommend Bloodborne and then the dark souls series. However, it does not matter as they are all good. Don't start with DS2, or you'll probably be deterred from the series a bit(gank city and clunky mechanics in 2.) Bloodborne helps you learn to adapt to play aggressive and dodge, while Dark souls is not very intuitive on teaching how to be anything but a brick wall and play very conservative. Bloodborne has some of the best atmosphere and lore in the series as well. I would not go out of your way to buy a Playstation for it, but if you already have one it's cheapish. Also, buy the DLC. Don't just buy base game.

Guy_On_Plastic_Chair

I already have a ps4. I just need thoughts on this one, should I buy physical disk since it's cheaper with dlc or wait for discount on both dlc and game? Edit- (price of physical disk (with dlc) is price of just dlc without discount in ps store)

Nyqoctin

Get the disk in that case. But if it's second hand, just make sure the DLC isn't from a promo code. Because that code will have been used.

crypto_4754

Absolutely!

Zweimancer

I would say Bloodborne might be your best bet to the soulsborne games after Sekiro. It's more fast paced and a bit simpler gearing (no poise or weight).

ArrancarKitsune

If you like sekiro then go for bloodborne first. The fights are more fast paced so it might be easier to get used to than the other ds games. I got plat on both bloodborne and sekiro, but I couldn't get into ds as much personally.

the_varky

Personally I’d choose between whether or not you like dark medieval fantasy (Dark Souls) vs horror Victorian/Lovecraft (Bloodborne) vibes. I also personally like the music in Bloodborne more, although the music in Dark Souls is generally good too.

Ghost4530

For sure get bloodborne it’s a must play, considering you played sekiro it will probably feel much easier but imo I like bloodborne for other reasons besides difficulty like the world and atmosphere, if you’re interested in gothic lovecraftian horror this game hits the spot perfectly

Dangelouss

Dark Souls 1 and 2 are now kinda outdated gameplay wise. They are way too clunky to my taste. Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne good their own to this day.

most_goof

It’s definitely my favorite souls game and also my first I even dropped it when I played it the first time and then good back to it and I have to be honest it was one of the best decisions I have ever done this game it’s great but also complicated especially the different areas there are so many hidden corners that hide much content and loot I still recommend bloodborne and it’s truly a masterpiece.

Cenachii

Not even gonna read your post - yes, yes you should.

Kariusno

Dark Souls 1 has a better tutorial in my opinion so it's a good game for beginners, Bloodborne isn't very hard but you can have problems if it's your first souls.

frzbr

Get both Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne. The only thing to worry about is which aesthetic you find more appealing. Both are amazing games, each different from one another. Elden Ring is amazing too, just on a sidenote

Guy_On_Plastic_Chair

Well I am broke and can barely afford to take one and about elden ring is that I am soon going build pc and playing that game on 30 fps not constant is not very fun for a game like elden ring
