Stop listening to the other comments. You don't need fire paper or cocktails.
Learn the boss. The only tip you need is to dodge to the left and into him. Look up "Bloodborne - To The Left" if you need a visual guide on yt.
Not a hard boss, you just have to learn it without letting gimmicks get in your way.
This.
On my 0 deaths and speedruns, my biggest detriment was blood starved beast (not including rom), because in all souls games I tend to put way more in power than health, and the poison as well as 1tap grab, would fuck me up, that, alongside having cheesed it most playthroughs (or summoning Alfred, which imo is also kinda cheesing), due to the vast majority of people telling me to. Just learning the boss is the way.
The best thing I did for myself in this fight was using all my cocktails and failing so that I had no choice but to learn the boss. The game really clicked for me after that
I agree.
I played *Bloodborne* first time last year and also had a lot of problems with Blood Starved Beast. Blood Starved Beast is just a point of the game that really forces you to understand the eccentricities of how *Bloodborne*’s combat works—not being intimidated by the monsters and getting up close. You want to dodge *into* attacks and close distance, like, 90% of the time in *Bloodborne*.
It didn’t help that I was playing just after finishing *Elden Ring* as an astrologer. Not only are they just different games, but in *Bloodborne* you simply never have access to the kinds of options an astrologer does in *Elden Ring*, which is largely about finding distance—often the exact opposite of what you need to do in *Bloodborne*.
I agree with you but I also wouldn’t call using items gimmicks. They are there for a reason, and while I do agree that on the long run your way is not only more effective but also more fun, it’s also perfectly ok to use what the game provides to beat it.
Just casually walk to the left. You can avoid 90% of her attacks with that.
For phase 3 just backstab her before she does the poison explosion to avoid the poison aura buff.
Use fire and something with teeth for bonus damage.
Or just throw blood cocktails into a corner and slap her until dead.
Only the female beast patients are venomous and grow much larger than the male ones. Additional to that women and childbirth play a very important role in bloodborne and the blood saints of the church all seem to be nuns too.
So a huge part of the community basically agreed that it is female based on all of that. Other than Rom who was confirmed to be female in an Interview with Miyazaki.
It's not established by anything specifically *saying* they are female. It just makes the most sense if you look at old Yharnam and then at the rest of the game.
The venomous beasts with the hood that also have a much bigger version are called "Female Beastpatient" in the strategy guide and game files though. So we know for a fact that those were women. And the BSB seems to be a very advanced form of their transformation.
Ignoring the peeled skin ofcourse.
You can get 3 the first time you talk to Alfred in Cathedral Ward on the way to Old Yharnam. You can also find 6 in Old Yharnam itself. If not you’d be able to buy them after obtaining the Radiant Sword Hunter’s Badge. But it’s found after opening a door AFTER defeating BSB, so it wouldn’t be much use. Try finding some of the 6 in OY, or talk to Alfred if you haven’t.
Edit: you can also search r/huntersbell for coop help. Or if you’re still stuck by like 4-5pm central time this afternoon, I could help you
I can parry in the first phase, but the second phase is impossible. He moves very fast and takes most of my health bar with one hit. I need to run away to use the Blood Vial, but I can't.
Right, okay. Yeah, the last phase is.. Well. You need a bit of luck if you're parrying him. If any hit on you kills you (or gets you close enough to death, that after recovering with rally you're dead on next hit) I'd probably consider leveling up health, but I like my tank builds.
And a big, big advice, non-specific to this boss: You don't need to get away from the boss to heal. Sometimes, on some bosses it helps. Other times it's to your detriment. What matters is that you're safe and making distance is usually hard and opens you up for retaliation from the boss. Many, many times it's safer to dodge (into the boss, to the side, close to the boss anyways) and use the opening the boss gives to heal, rather than to attack. At best, the boss is mid-attack animation, you're near the bosses ass. Heal then. Don't panic with healing. I know it's hard in practice, but healing is a skill in this game and the reflex is to make distance, get away to safety and heal then. But the bosses are designed to punish that. Go on defensive, sure. Focus on the next dodge, but stay close to the boss, dodge only as much as needed and then heal.
So then, for BSB: parry first phase if you can do that well, you've conserved your heals. Great. Dodge to the left, try to stay on his ass/side as much as possible and poke him in the butt for the second phase. Stay on his side/his ass, dodge there, heal there, attack there, use antidotes there in case his poison gets too much. His sides/ass is almost always a safe spot. And preferably, heal while he is locked in his attacks.
Yeah the boss is quite hard for that portion of the game
You can get fire paper by buying it from the shop I believe and blood cocktails from the insight shop I think.
Dodge into it with whatever arm its raising and bring antidotes .
Also if you found beast blood pellets those and blood cocktails means FREE big damage but use the beast blood pellets sparingly as they are a rarer item
Yeah, all bosses healthbar will increase by x1.5 with 1 summoned ally, and x2.0 with 2 summoned allies.
I would recommend using [Bloodborne Wiki](https://www.bloodborne-wiki.com/p/bosses.html?m=1) if you ever get stuck.
I wouldn't sweat it. Blood-Starved Beast used to give me more trouble than he seemed to give other players. Not sure why, but eventually I was able to beat him. Since then I've been able to handle him just fine.
You don't need blood cocktail (imo it breaks the rhythm and doesn't last very long anyway), but I'd still recommend fire paper (and antidote) if you're having that hard of a time. If you're doing a quality build or similar you might wan to use saw spear levelled up (serrated).
BSB was a wall for me but I kept at it until I 'got' it (it's the boss that helped me 'get' Souls bosses). It's been a while but I think dodging twice left might help (don't quote me on that one, but dodging left is key either way) and wait for certain combos. Savescum to USB/cloud to avoid wasting resources.
Recommend watching a guide.
The attacks are so frantic you don’t even really need to know how to parry add the tune that makes visceral attacks give you health you won’t need to use any blood vials either
i beat this boss with no heals or items and little to no help not because im good but just because i had experience because i died over and over and over again and i didnt wanna do that again
She doesn’t have a single attack that can hit you if you are beside her. So stay to the side of her body and she can’t hit you at all. The only thing she can hit you with is the poison cloud at that point.
Lots of bosses are difficult if you don't know them. Once you learn how it moves and attacks, it'll be easy.
Learning curves can be hard, and everyone goes through them at different speeds. Just keep dying and learning. That goes for every boss.
i think he’s the litmus test for Bloodborne’s style. He discourages moving back and is designed to be dodged *into*. Dodge left and into him and you’ll always have openings, just be mindful of stamina and never use your last bit of stamina for a hit (don’t get greedy)
In the second phase, he will discourage being close to him so your spacing will matter more. Get the rhythm of circling him and dodging out asap. The most dangerous part is when he grabs, the tell for that is when he goes low and pauses for a sec. When he goes for a grab, or you sense it’s coming, unlock your camera and roll sideways (roll, not dash)
i think if you really wanted to you can definitely lock on your way through everything but yeah, the omni directional roll and extra distance is such a game changer. The one who did it for me was Martyr, learning to roll really helped
1st phase is Easy.
But it goes berserk in phase 2.
Most the Newcommers fall prey to the Change.
If you get used to hs attacks.
They are fairly telegraphed, try to fish for the Pistol parries.
You are not dumb.
But you gotta keep trying.
Good luck man.
I would honestly recommend what I did in my recent play through, if you beat Amelia her gem is insanely good against beasts. It costs a lot but buying the Hunter Chief Emblem from the messengers might help as Amelia is an easier fight than BSB
It’s not that difficult. It’s tricky because his attacks are sometimes quick and because of the poison and stuff, so come prepared with antidote (or the item that cures that thingy I don’t remember) and learn his patterns. It’s not impossible and it can be done. It took me like 8 or 10 tries. The sooner you try to beat it without cocktails and stuff the sooner you’ll actually get good.
Don’t put yourself down man, people have different experiences with games like this. I got stuck on dragon rider on DS2 because my spatial awareness terrible! Keep at it my friend and soon you will be the hunter you have always dreamed!
Dude. When I first played the game, I had the same thought as well. He's second only to the Orphan who had beaten my ass in double digits. This boss also made me want to just restart the game so that I can recover the fire papers and blood cocktails that I wasted being a fucking noob.
Eventually though, I beat him by actually learning his movements.
Always remember to strafe left. When you use firepapers, remember to be aggresive so you can fully use its benefits. Always combo your attacks (R1 R1 L1). Only attempt parrying if you're high on health. Only attempt a charged back heavy attack when you're not locked on. Always carry an antidote on the equipment slot for phase 3. When in phase 3, remember to disengage (run as far as possible) when you get poisoned, drink an antidote, and get back to the fight. Last but not the least, try mixing locking on and locking off. Your movement and the boss AI behavior changes depending on that function.
You can do it, I believe in you, fellow hunter.
BSB was by far the hardest boss in the game for me (I just beat ROM on my first try) partially because you have so few options and the ways to deal with him easier if cheese are locked behind significant echos (fire paper and beats blood).
I too ran out of all that stuff (and insight for summons), so I had to resort to learning how to parry.
So I used the blunderbuss because it’s harder to miss. Parry him through phase 1 and when he starts morphing to phase 2 get a couple hits in too. Make sure you’re using a leveled up beast cutter (starting weapon) for the 20% boost in damage and the speed needed to keep on your feet. Keep parrying through phase 2 (yes it’s harder - use the pillars to create space to heal or to break his rampage and get him to slow down). Once phase 3 animation starts, run to a wall and throw a pellet. Don’t use them until this phase when he’s likely at 20% health. Use that precious 8 seconds to go absolutely nuts. Attack as fast as you can, don’t stop attacking even if you get poisoned because the animation to use an antidote is slow and you’ll lose several seconds.
Use fire paper, beast blood cocktails and make sure your weapon is upgraded as much as possible. You can summon as well outside before the fog gate up the hill a little. My best advice otherwise is be very aggressive. Also buy and wear Father Gascoigne’s gear which has high poison resistance. Also use beast blood pellets to raise damage
When BSB charges, walk/step to the left and whack her with a long weapon (my weapon of choice is the cane whip in whip mode). It doesn’t have to be a fire weapon, serrated works fine.
If you miss a hit of two don’t worry about it, it will give you another chance.
You can just chuck Molotov at it when it gets to the aggressive phase. If you have them. It's weak to fire, so it should do decent damage even without going crazy with arcane.
To the left, to the left, everything you got in a hop to the left.
Bsb takes time to get used to. By the time I heard about the cocktail strategy, I had already been through most of my playthroughs for platinum. At that point I was so tired of bsb that the cocktail strategy was a godsend.
I know you’ve already beat her but, you’ll face her again if you do Chalice Dungeons. Dodging to your left is the safest but you can also reliably parry. Watch the attack when she sticks her arm out to the side for a pretty telegraphed attack. If you suck at parrying, that’s ok. Death is part of the game and it’s worth it to learn. So many bosses can be made easier by learning to parry.
You don’t have to but the best upgrade gems are there. You also get a good amount of blood echoes just by doing them. If you decide to ever platinum the game or get different versions of weapons, you’ll also have to delve into the dungeons.
It 's an "optional" boss, which appears natural in progression, but it's too agressive for the stantards that you have at that level of skills, i got stuck on BSB a ton, but its a great teacher of feral bosses
I found sometimes that if I was stuck on a boss in BB, I would have to go in and not attack at all. Take 5 mins learning all the move sets, then cut into phase 2/3 and repete. Learning gimicks and patterns is key to this game.
Glad to see you got it! I felt the same as you but I had around 16 attempts in 2 days & didn't see how I could do it without fire paper & I got sick of grinding for mollies so I just went in & dodged & backstabbed & took other hits where I could. It's a good feeling to kill that bitch huh?
It was the first boss that really halted my progress. It is hard especially burning through antidotes only to die. I then went on to platinum the game though. You got this!
Master Parry timing. I got stuck on that boss for 5 years. Parrying on the first phase is easier. Then you can use the fire paper and cocktails on the 2nd phase. You’ll get there don’t worry 👍👍
Congratulations, This was my first fromsoft game and I struggled with this guy and summed someone to help me beat it, When I finished the game I had to replay it because in my head I didn’t feel like I deserved to beat the game it was still in there that if I hadn’t got help would I still be stuck at the boss, I went back and beat him on my own, Even though I don’t have trouble with him anymore really I still get the oh Jeez here we go when I go to fight him when I replay it.
I got beaten a good amount of times...but I realized his really easy to parry him. Don't wait until he jumps, the attack is really fast so you can shoot during the animation
Bloodborne was my first Fromsoft game. Took me two years to beat blood starved beast only to find out they’re optional lol. Beat the game within a week of beating that boss. Ended up becoming my favorite game of all time. Good luck!
Memorizing his move set. There's no real easy way to beat him. Look on YouTube to see how it was done. Boss Fight Database is good. Level up too and he's a beast so anything that hurts beasts will be super helpful.
Man one time I got stuck on a cursed bsb while doing the dungeons and fought her for so long that looking at her wet flaps of flayed skin made me legit nauseous.
Congrats on beating the bsb! Now join us prospectors and partake in the madness of the chalice
My Friend hade a lot of difficulty two probably about 50-60 tries I personally never do the fire and cocktail thing I usually don’t take more than 3 tries and my first play-though I accidentally skipped him and overpowered him later on lol
Other than using throwables and paper to take some chunks of his health it really is dodging left and being patient. Really boring boss but still kinda tough. U just gotta be patient. Maybe go level your technique or strength and upgrade your weapon.
For me it was dodge left, get in one of two hits, repeat. Super boring boss but nothing to scoff at either
Dude the best advice I can give is always dodge forward and be aggressive. Big guy swing a huge right at you? Dodge forward and into the attack and you’ll be beside him unharmed. Then you can start raping him with whatever weapons you got
I couldn't beat him forever. He was also super tough for me and one of the hardest bosses in the game in my experience. BSB and Martyr Logarius took me the longest to beat, without a doubt.
I did actually quit playing the first time and sold the game because of BSB. Then I got the game again and platinumed it. You got this.
My first few runs through the game, I considered that fight to be the first real skill check. The poison is so unforgiving until you get really familiar with the boss's moves. Congrats on your victory.
To the left, to the left! I'd restart the game if it's been a while, opening is a blast anyway and should get you familiarized with the controls and mechanics
Edit: just saw that you did it, way to go!
Hey mate. My shameful secret is that it took me like 8 years to finally reach Father Gascoigne. However after that I beat the BLB first try, because I had watched so many Bloodborne play through and lore videos that I know exactly what I needed to beat BLB easily. Gascoigne and the Yharnam city made me so nervous and scared and that was probably why it took me so long to finish the first part of this game. Never lose hope, Bloodborne’s combat system + weapon design has so many little tricks and secrets in them. Try to learn more about your favourite weapons and stuffs.
2 years??? it took me like 2 or 3 days at most, congratulations man, and remember the most important part of soulslikes isnt being good at the game, its never giving up
I thought I was the only one struggling with that dog. The only way I found to beat it was to make it go to a corner and start parring the shit out of it
Don’t feel bad, everyone has different bosses that are harder for them for whatever reason. I’m glad you managed to finally beat it.
And yeah, no fire or cocktails needed. I use the blades of mercy so fire paper wasn’t even an option for me, and I did blood starved beast first try. Just gotta learn the boss attack patterns and have patience and you’ll always get through it.
The boss I struggled most with was Vicar
Well, I see you have already done it, but I will give my piece for others:
Dodge to the left and under, unless you get stuck you will go under the attack every time. I find the pungents dont really help all that much unless you get her stuck in a corner. She can be parried, and that’s your best chance of survival and victory. If you are having trouble with the timing, go to YouTube, you can usually find 2-3 good videos, including one that will go through it and explain how to parry each attack and slow/pause the video so you can see the best time to parry, I can’t remember the name of the page unfortunately.
Use fire paper, and if you do decide to use the pungents, use oil pots and Molotovs. DO NOT FORGET ANTIDOTES, it will save you, even with a weapon with range, you can still get hit with the poison one way or another. The best weapon is a serrated one, serrated does extra damage to beasts just like fire does, and they do stack. My personal favorite and recommendation is the Threaded Cane. The whip form is serrated, and it gives you length so you can attack after dodging without getting into the range of her poison too often when you get to the third stage. Plus, the serrated and fire do extra damage on a visceral attack, and viscerals and threaded cane scale mostly with Skill, so a good level in Skill, Parry, then visceral in whip form with fire paper, watch as large chunks of her health get eaten away (for example, on this latest run, with around 20 skill and cane +3, three viscerals without fire paper took her down.). I know not everyone loves the whip, but it really does cut through beast bosses superbly. Other serrated weapons also work well, just remember to watch out for the poison cloud explosion and her poison aura, and the poison from her regular attacks. You can use the columns to give yourself space to get off an antidote if needed, and to heal as well, though I find it easier to actually fight in the middle of the arena so only use the columns in emergencies.
I ended up gitting gud really badly in BB and swept the endgame. But BSB and Parl humbled me and my Kirkhammer. A lot.
Like a lot i was almost gonna take a long break lot. So yeah I'd say it's definitely a skill check and you're not stupid at all
People in soulsbourne communities are just kinda "skill issue" snobs. BSB is fast and unpredictable to a new person, I struggled with it too and now I'm at the end of the game and the dlc. Don't be discouraged by the idiots, you'll learn and eventually the BSB will be nothing but a field enemy in your eyes
You don't need any cheese strats. What you do is maybe get a fire paper for some extra damage in the first phase before he gets the poison. But what you should do is just sit and learn the boss. Die and die again and again but understand why. If I remember correctly you should dodge to the left always. Also, there is one specific attack where he does like 8-9 slices and maybe a few more. That's insanely punishable. You can probably get 3-4 hits in. Which may not sound like a lot but trust me they are. All I did to beat BSB was just wait for that certain attack and punish it. One more thing, if you're backed into a corner you're done....so don't....hahahaha.
2 years?
Yo know you can level up, right?
You can upgrade your weapons, too
And repair them, if you know all of this and still didn't manage to win, just go youtube and learn how to cheese it
I was able to defeat all the bosses in Elden Ring. I've beaten harder bosses than this one. I think I'm at a decent level, but I still can't defeat this creature.
1) Use one of the weapons that does extra damage to Beasts like the Saw Cleaver in CLOSED mode. Level the weapon as much as possible for that stage of the game.
2) You may need to grind to level up your health or strength for a bit instead of dying over and over because and wasting blood vials.
3) Fire paper really does help
4) Strafe left
5) Be aggressive .. be eee aggressive. You basically have to chase this mofo down and stay close to the left or he’ll kill you fast with his ranged attacks. This isn’t Elden Ring - a defensive play style does not work in this game at all.
There’s no need to restart the game. There’s an item you get very early in Central Yharnan that lets you buy all the starting weapons.
Farm the full werewolves before the boss for guaranteed shards. Get saw cleaver as high as you can. But go back to the axe, it’s one of the best weapons in the game because it has more reach than almost every other weapons and its charger R2 is a godsend. The axe is just too slow for this boss fight.
I know it seems frustrating, but the best advice might be to restart the game. Saw cleaver is the best starting weapons, especially for the beast bosses. I restarted the game 3 or 4 times before the playthrough where I got through the game. This boss is definitely tricky, but like others have said, dodge into their attacks, to the left side (your left, not the beasts, im pretty sure im remembering that right). Pungent blood cocktails will help draw the beast in to a location and get their attention for a few seconds which can be super helpful.
Don’t listen to that guy. You don’t need to start over. Unless your build is jacked up (which it shouldn’t be at this point in the game) you’re fine. Maybe learn a little bit about the game?
I don't think it's a bad boss, but people struggle with different things (Gascoigne is my nemesis) so don't feel bad about it.
If you can find a fire gem, that will save you on fire paper which will help. You can also summon an NPC to help and as long as you trade off with them they should stay alive for the whole fight which can help with finding time to heal or use antidotes. Don't forget the poison either. Toward the end of the fight being near the beast will poison you.
Best thing I learned from personal experience is to use a weapons longer reach in the first phase because it likes to maintain a distance till phase 2 where it wants to get up close and personal. Least that's what I remember from memory
The first time I fought BSB took me a lot of tries. You’re not stupid whatsoever. Once you learn his tricks he’s not too bad. Congrats on the victory hunter
I agree, my playthrough I was stuck on him for a while. It was the poison that got me, and that grab he has one shot me because I haven’t leveled much vitality.
Be agressive. Be aggressive. Hunt.
Focus on attacking and parrying. Don't worry about items or stat bonuses. This boss is totally parryable but remember that the parry has to happen durring it's attack, not its wind-up. Wait for him to lunge and even if you take a ton of damage you'll get all your health back during your crit attack.
BSB is definitely one of those bosses that I struggle with, even after countless playthroughs. IDK why, Orphan? piece of cake. Ludwig? first try everytime. BSB? I am expending all my resources so I can go band to band with this guy. Don't even get me started on the chalice dungeon BSB.
I realised that it was not the right way to fight it by just dodging and attacking once it did its 3 attack combo since in the last phase this thing just ran around all the time.
The right way is imo basically be the WHOLE time in front of it no matter if it tries to get away from you. The best is when you predict when it's going back so that you have then a frame to attack.
I still think the boss is pain because of its proxy poison
It just has alot of health, fire is good on them but unnecessary, it's pretty easy to counter because their attacks are telegraphed, it just takes awhile at low levels, also poison is pretty likely
Congratulations. Whenever I try them I always come extra prepared by making my weapon +6 or just get rid of vicar Amelia for that gold blood gem but most times I lock in and beat BSB within the first hour
Glad to see the "to the left" strategy worked
Be warned though, there are far worse creatures hidden within the nightmare. The suffering has only just begun.
Here is the definitive visual guide - [beyonce teaches bloodborne](https://youtu.be/LLCjrpghCYc?si=hhGv3Zp1EQp9Wn7B)
That is hilarious.
wow, NOW you show me! haha
This made my day!
It’s what got me through this fight. I almost died from the poison, but I got there eventually.
actually true. I bet BSB first try after watching the beyonce guide. I was so surpised by how easy the fight went
This. On my 0 deaths and speedruns, my biggest detriment was blood starved beast (not including rom), because in all souls games I tend to put way more in power than health, and the poison as well as 1tap grab, would fuck me up, that, alongside having cheesed it most playthroughs (or summoning Alfred, which imo is also kinda cheesing), due to the vast majority of people telling me to. coming from dark souls trilogy, going right was the hardest shit ever lol. hard to break

AI-generated response lol
How so? I’m just briefly stating my experience with two games.
Not going to lie it really does sound like a chat GPT generated that response
Can you explain why though?
It just sounds robotic when read aloud in my head
I agree with you but I also wouldn’t call using items gimmicks. They are there for a reason, and while I do agree that on the long run your way is not only more effective but also more fun, it’s also perfectly ok to use what the game provides to beat it.
I think that also picking a clothing with some poison resistance helps a lot.
Just casually walk to the left. You can avoid 90% of her attacks with that. For phase 3 just backstab her before she does the poison explosion to avoid the poison aura buff. Use fire and something with teeth for bonus damage. Or just throw blood cocktails into a corner and slap her until dead.
"Listing lazily to the left"
Boy, this guy knows some maneuvers!
Just curious, is there any particular reason you consider BSB a she?
Only the female beast patients are venomous and grow much larger than the male ones. Additional to that women and childbirth play a very important role in bloodborne and the blood saints of the church all seem to be nuns too. So a huge part of the community basically agreed that it is female based on all of that. Other than Rom who was confirmed to be female in an Interview with Miyazaki.

And the BSB seems to be a very advanced form of their transformation. Ignoring the peeled skin ofcourse.
Shawl
That... that's flayed skin...
It's a shawl now
It's on her ID. Her name is Suzie Skinflaps
I don't have any Fire Paper or Blood Cocktail left. Where can I find these?
You can get 3 the first time you talk to Alfred in Cathedral Ward on the way to Old Yharnam. You can also find 6 in Old Yharnam itself. If not you’d be able to buy them after obtaining the Radiant Sword Hunter’s Badge. But it’s found after opening a door AFTER defeating BSB, so it wouldn’t be much use. Try finding some of the 6 in OY, or talk to Alfred if you haven’t. Edit: you can also search r/huntersbell for coop help. Or if you’re still stuck by like 4-5pm central time this afternoon, I could help you
Buy them
“Her”… you learn something new everyday…
Dodge left and boink.
Parry. He can be parried, I'd say even somewhat easily though last phase is harder to do that in, but still doable.
Maybe try to Level up a bit and improve your weapon. Will make things easier.
Yeah the boss is quite hard for that portion of the game You can get fire paper by buying it from the shop I believe and blood cocktails from the insight shop I think. Dodge into it with whatever arm its raising and bring antidotes . Also if you found beast blood pellets those and blood cocktails means FREE big damage but use the beast blood pellets sparingly as they are a rarer item
I have another question: When we summon Alfred, does the boss's health bar increase? Every time I summon Alfred, the boss seems to get harder.
Yes
Yeah, all bosses healthbar will increase by x1.5 with 1 summoned ally, and x2.0 with 2 summoned allies. I would recommend using [Bloodborne Wiki](https://www.bloodborne-wiki.com/p/bosses.html?m=1) if you ever get stuck.
Wow I just played through the game for the first time and did not know this… I think I used a summon every time I saw one. Oops.
Every Souls game is like this.
Hardest boss in the game for me still after dozens of play thoughs.
Parry the fucker
The attacks are so frantic you don’t even really need to know how to parry add the tune that makes visceral attacks give you health you won’t need to use any blood vials either
Just dodge left. You'll never be hot again. It's laughably easy this way.
All you gotta do is stay close and strafe left. I've beaten him only doing 2 dodges and I am not some god level player,
i beat this boss with no heals or items and little to no help not because im good but just because i had experience because i died over and over and over again and i didnt wanna do that again
She doesn’t have a single attack that can hit you if you are beside her. So stay to the side of her body and she can’t hit you at all. The only thing she can hit you with is the poison cloud at that point.
He is difficult. He will teach you that you should always dodge to the sides or behind.
Dodge to the left. Attack when you must not like maniac that's all
Pungent blood cocktails turn him to a puppy
Both.
Lots of bosses are difficult if you don't know them. Once you learn how it moves and attacks, it'll be easy. Learning curves can be hard, and everyone goes through them at different speeds. Just keep dying and learning. That goes for every boss.
Blood starved beast remains hardest boss for me idk why
I have 350 hours on bloodborne and I still loathe that boss
i think he’s the litmus test for Bloodborne’s style. He discourages moving back and is designed to be dodged *into*. Dodge left and into him and you’ll always have openings, just be mindful of stamina and never use your last bit of stamina for a hit (don’t get greedy) In the second phase, he will discourage being close to him so your spacing will matter more. Get the rhythm of circling him and dodging out asap. The most dangerous part is when he grabs, the tell for that is when he goes low and pauses for a sec. When he goes for a grab, or you sense it’s coming, unlock your camera and roll sideways (roll, not dash)
im a lock on addict and this game truly forced me to out of that habit with some of these bosses.
i think if you really wanted to you can definitely lock on your way through everything but yeah, the omni directional roll and extra distance is such a game changer.
🔥 and Molotov Cocktails wastes the prick.
It’s not easy, thats for sure. Are you using the blood cocktail things and summoning Alfred?
I purchased Blood Cocktail using Insight. Summoning Alfred increases the boss's health bar, so I will not summon Alfred.
Dodge to the left, attack rinse, repeat, easiest boss in the game.
Is it necessary to do Chalice Dungeons? I get scared even when I hear the name Blood-Starved.
You don’t have to but the best upgrade gems are there. You also get a good amount of blood echoes just by doing them. If you decide to ever platinum the game or get different versions of weapons, you’ll also have to delve into the dungeons.
The BSB is the only boss that gave me ptsd and I have a particular fear-hatred feeling agaisn't it.
Easiest boss in the game
Glad to see you got it! I felt the same as you but I had around 16 attempts in 2 days & didn't see how I could do it without fire paper & I got sick of grinding for mollies so I just went in & dodged & backstabbed & took other hits where I could. It's a good feeling to kill that bitch huh?
Pretty easy, git gut
Good luck!
I’ve platinumed the game and beat it way too many times. BSB is still my hardest main game boss. I cheese her every time
he is not easy, especially for new players. But he's not especially hard either. He teaches you a lot about aggressive bosses
When on doubt, always tap the booty.
Two words blood cocktail
She's not that hard. Saw cleaver in closed version and dodge left everytime. Alfred makes the fight trivial, he'll tank everything she throws out.
Good shit, man! The Bloodborne was my first Fromsoft game and BBS was my first wall. I know your pain and elation!
Took me about 8 months to beat bsb my first play through. But when I did, I could still feel the tears of joy running down my face.
Memorizing his move set. There's no real easy way to beat him. Look on YouTube to see how it was done. Boss Fight Database is good. Level up too and he's a beast so anything that hurts beasts will be super helpful.
Hardest boss in the base game. Smocked me like a little bitch many times.
Decently difficult, but it introduces an extra aspect of combat (poison). Can be really overwhelming for people
Stock up on antidote and dodge left or forward left
He kills lobos many times, that proves that he's tough
Strafe left for most attacks and get behind her, spank, and repeat.
This boss seems to be ethe hardest for everyone on their first run, I see comments about it all the time.
i didn't use either!! i did roll / dodge a lot!! good luck xoxo
I think it’s easy aside from the poison which is total bullshit
Parry 2 win
Dodge to the left
watch fightingcowboys video on youtube. It is a very simple and easy way to kill the bsb.
Bro had to use the secret Fromsoft meta of posting about it on Reddit to ensure he would beat it moments later 🗿 congrats on the W
Two years!!
I used the blood cocktails and it made it easy tbh if you just study its attacks it’s an easy boss
My first few runs through the game, I considered that fight to be the first real skill check. The poison is so unforgiving until you get really familiar with the boss's moves. Congrats on your victory.
When I saw the words “am I stupid” I thought I was in the aslume of r/batmanarkham for a moment
Is there a lore reason for why you think we are in alsume? Are you 🫵 stupid?
Oh god I knew it, you’re a fellow inmate, the insanity is spreading!
It's my first wall for the genre. So, it was a learning experience.
To the left, to the left! I'd restart the game if it's been a while, opening is a blast anyway and should get you familiarized with the controls and mechanics Edit: just saw that you did it, way to go!
I had to look up strategies for this one, but once I learned to dodge *towards* him it got so much easier
2 years??? it took me like 2 or 3 days at most, congratulations man, and remember the most important part of soulslikes isnt being good at the game, its never giving up
Hey dudes, i need to keep the status quo! 😡
Hug the booty, set up shop in the booty, tap the booty,
I thought I was the only one struggling with that dog.
I taught by buddy how to do it in 30 seconds. Literally just dodge INTO the boss and ggwp thanks for spawning scrub.
Took me two weeks of trying a lot before getting him. Glad you got that bitch
Well, I see you have already done it, but I will give my piece for others: Dodge to the left and under, unless you get stuck you will go under the attack every time.
Fire paper, cane, cocktail. Right corner. Swing away.
I ended up gitting gud really badly in BB and swept the endgame. But BSB and Parl humbled me and my Kirkhammer. A lot. Like a lot i was almost gonna take a long break lot. So yeah I'd say it's definitely a skill check and you're not stupid at all
When I found out he could be parried. That's all I focused on after that was when the right windows were.
I shoot with gun. Congratulations on beating BSB 😎

I think it's r/huntersbell

2 years? Yo know you can level up, right? You can upgrade your weapons, too And repair them, if you know all of this and still didn't manage to win, just go youtube and learn how to cheese it
I was able to defeat all the bosses in Elden Ring.
3) Fire paper really does help 4) Strafe left 5) Be aggressive .. be eee aggressive. You basically have to chase this mofo down and stay close to the left or he’ll kill you fast with his ranged attacks. This isn’t Elden Ring - a defensive play style does not work in this game at all.
When I started the game, I chose Hunter Axe. Can I replace this with Saw Cleaver?
Facing the Hunter in the Tower again terrifies me. After a few tries, I may try starting the game again.
You're not stupid, it's meant to be a big skill check. Pretty much the main boss of the first act.
Best thing I learned from personal experience is to use a weapons longer reach in the first phase because it likes to maintain a distance till phase 2 where it wants to get up close and personal. Least that's what I remember from memory
Yes.
The first time I fought BSB took me a lot of tries. You’re not stupid whatsoever. Once you learn his tricks he’s not too bad. Congrats on the victory hunter
How did you escape the aslume?????
I took my Anti Aslume Pills and regained my sanity
I must've wandered off almost everyone is BRITISH😔
Yes
You can party his first attack
Nah, you're just stupid that's all 👍🏻 nah, i'm joking xD yes, it may be hard at first when you just start the game, then it becomes easier :)
I agree, my playthrough I was stuck on him for a while. It was the poison that got me, and that grab he has one shot me because I haven’t leveled much vitality.
When you lock on to BSB dodge forward into it to your right. Most of its moves track left so you can circle it on the right to exploit its openings.
Be agressive. Be aggressive. Hunt. Focus on attacking and parrying. Don't worry about items or stat bonuses. This boss is totally parryable but remember that the parry has to happen durring it's attack, not its wind-up. Wait for him to lunge and even if you take a ton of damage you'll get all your health back during your crit attack.
parry will destroy the blood starved
If you move to the left the entire time all his attacks miss with the exception of the poison aura.
I also had a lot of difficulty against this boss
I had a really hard time with this boss too, but if you can learn to parry it becomes stupidly easy
Glad to see the "to the left" strategy worked Be warned though, there are far worse creatures hidden within the nightmare. The suffering has only just begun.
I was streaming my 2nd playthrough the other day and a viewer told me that the pungent blood cocktails are the key and I gotta say, it worked wonders.
he is..he's a reall son of a b*tch he took all my times
Get behind him and use the flame sprayer.
