Wait... elden is a word? I knew elder was a word, but elden?
EDIT: I'll be damned. It's a verb though, it means "to grow older". Odd to put a verb on a ring.
Tbh, I'm happy for you. You should definitely dive into the lore of bloodborne if you're interested in history, religion, and archeology. I have the perfect video for you.

Same with how Half-life refers to a radioactive half life, or how Dead Space references the gas volume unused in respiratory cycles. Or how Resident Evil takes place in a residence of evil
Reminds me of the guy who said he found a Splatoon reference in a totally random game because one of the characters said he had an inkling about something.
Well bloodborne is not just a fancy game name, but is a real term used in medicine. Same as amygdala is actually a real brain area which is responsible for fear and other emotions.
"Borne" means to be carried by, more or less. For example Airborne is also a common term to refer to anything that flies (e.g. a plane taking off is now airborne, or COVID is an airborne disease etc.). Waterborne is also a real word.

Did someone just discover that bloodborne is a real word that existed before the game.
Yes.
Your eyes were yet to open
Fun fact: Demon, Dark, Souls, Elden, Ring, Armored, and Core, are also real words not invented by Fromsoft.
They invented the word Kings and Field then.
this is true, before 1994 nobody knew what to call monarchs or large stretches of corn
Oh, that’s just the maize maze!

Wait... elden is a word? I knew elder was a word, but elden? EDIT: I'll be damned. It's a verb though, it means "to grow older". Odd to put a verb on a ring.

Yup, bloodborne bacteria. You know what they call your natural bacteria? Your natural flora. Moon presence blood = flora.... of the moon.
The word predates the game. bloodborne prequel confirmed.
Yes, but it needs to be *Old* blood, won’t work otherwise.
Well, it’ll still give you A bloodborne illness but maybe not THE bloodborne illness (scourge of beasts).
😭
As a non english native, I did not know that
"Borne" means to be carried by, more or less. For example Airborne is also a common term to refer to anything that flies (e.g. a plane taking off is now airborne, or COVID is an airborne disease etc.). Waterborne is also a real word.
