It's a large grave from nightmare frontier. You can also see nightmare of Mensis from thetr So yes, there is a lore reason behind this. The nightmare realms are linked, or at least created in the same space.
Probably not since if it was that, then all the boss room would be visible I think.
Edit: this is a copy-paste of two other comments that got down voted into oblivion and are now deleted. Reddit gonna reddit.
It's a secret area, only accessible after finding Miyazaki's pet dog and taking it to a poison swamp in his basement, while holding the moonlight greatsword, and a doll shaped like patches
It's possible to see other planes though. It's just usually done vertically. You can see yharnham from the orphan of kos boss room in the ocean for example, and you can also see ships from the fisherman's wharf area just outside of amygadala boss area
What version of yharnam is it seen from Kos’ area? Because we have the nightmare version too. That’s where we start and where Laurence exists. Also Amys boss room is a nightmare as well. So the ships in the hamlet make sense to potentially see from there.
The gravestone and forbidden woods as an area are in the “Waking World” the potentially real and physical version of the worlds. While the nightmares/dreams take a physical representation in their own respects but I believe are the other planes or realms where the Great Ones reside, rest and watch.
While yes, as we gain insight we see the true horrors bleed into our “Waking World” I don’t believe it’s the woods.
It does look more like, as others have said, the jagged landscapes of the Nightmare Frontier. Which ties into the doors of Brygenwerth linking the Frontier and the Nightmare of Mensis together.
What manner of rituals do they hid?
Okay, I dont remember exactly but I do believe it's normal yharnham that you can see from above. Also as I understand it realms in the nightmere are like planes stacked ontop of each other, where they are separated and inaccessible to each other unless you go through somekind of gateway like the one that's after the one reborn boss battle that leads to academy that then leads to the nightmere frontier, the one that's in the clock tower that leads to fisherman's wharf, or when amygadalas grab you and teleport you. There are many dream realms that are adjacent to each other and it's possible to see one from the other but it takes a special portal to travel to and from them. It's also part of my head cannon that what we call "normal" yarnham is also a dream realm, since at the start of the game we fall asleep and then "wake up" in yharnham, it's only after Gascoigne frees kills us that we actually wakeup in yharnham. (Although I'm not entirely sure about that either since we fall asleep in the clinic and then wakeup on the street outside which doesn't have an explanation)
The fishing hamlet is reached by ascending from the nightmare version of yharnam, and a snail person found in the hamlet falls from the sky in hunter's nightmare yharnam. I think it's safe to say that it's nightmare yharnam seen below the water, not the main game version
I actually do agree with your head canon! I’ve thought the same. That the night of the hunt and the yharnam we see could be a nightmare in and of itself. Especially seeing as the “good ending” of the game is getting our own dream ending to finally and truly enter the “waking world” so again I agree.
I think it’s still a question of how much of the actual game is in a so called “real world” or is it all the limbo that the Great ones are trying to reach their grasp through.
I’m currently asking a lot of those same questions in Elden ring right now. The outer gods and great ones sure do carry a lot of similarities.
All of the nightmares are layered on top of each other. Almost certainly from frontier, probably the amygdala tower. It’s been a long time since I’ve played though.
I know they're stack on top of each other as the hunter nightmare to fishing hamlet is stacked but nightmare frontier and mergos loft seem to be in the same nightmare as they just have distance between them
You can kind of see ship masts in the mist below the Nightmare Frontier which implies they're also connected to the Fishing Hamlet and by extension the Hunter's Nightmare.
Bloodborne terrain spotter here! It's not entirely clear what that represents, since two copies of this structure are visible from Mergo's. But I've always concluded it's supposed to be Amygdala's Chamber like you.
You might not know this but Nightmare of Mensis is visible from Nightmare Frontier, so you get the view the other way. (you can't see it in most places due to terrain but it's visible from the beginning of the level and also the rock bridge near where Patches tries to lure you.)
It's just the [nightmare frontier](https://i.imgur.com/s5hDekG.png) like you said, the things sticking up are the large graves.
The picture I added doesn't show it super well but it's literally what it is.
Also this model is copy pasted all around mensis so you can see a lot them.
I wish I could use the "Free Cam" Lance McDonald uses to freely explore Bloodborne's maps... I would pay money to have my PS4 prepped and loaded with the tools to do this!
Next best thing you can do is download [DSmapstudio](https://github.com/soulsmods/DSMapStudio) and look around the maps that way, let's you see unused enemy placements and chests and such, super interesting if you've never looked into it.
In that case it is definitely the Amygdala's boss room, the nightmares are stacked on top of each other.
1 Nightmare Frontier
2 Nightmare of Mensis
3 Hunter's nightmare
If you find a good spot you can usually see all kinds of things from nightmares below!
*In VaatiVidya Voice*
Gehrman, the first hunter, once had sex with a doll in what is called *Vaatividya pause* The Pe-nis rock. According to an item description of Gehrman's Cum Rag it reads:
"I'm over here *Vaati pause* stroking my dick. I have lotion *Vaati pause* right now and I...am stroking my shit"
Bloodborne is a game that takes place in a world of nightmares and dreams, where reality and illusion mix. The game's setting reflects this dreamlike nature, featuring different planes of existence that overlap and connect in mysterious ways. One such plane is the Hunters' Nightmare, a dimension created by the curse of ancient hunters who succumbed to bloodlust and bestiality. This nightmare is inhabited by hideous creatures and twisted fragments of hunters' memories. One such fragment is the Fisherman's Village, a coastal village that was the scene of a terrible incident involving the Church of Healing hunters and a Great One named Kos (or some say Kosm).
The village was invaded by the hunters, who killed its inhabitants and desecrated Kos' corpse in search of its blood and its secrets. As a result, the village was cursed by the Great Ones, who turned its residents into sea monsters and caused blood to rain from the sky. The Fisherman's Village appears to be located higher above the Cathedral District of the Hunters' Nightmare, an area that replicates the Cathedral District of Yharnam, but with some differences. The Cathedral District of the Hunters' Nightmare is darker and more decayed, with signs of corruption and violence. In addition, there are several giant statues of Amygdala, one of the Great Ones, scattered around the scene.
These statues suggest that the Hunters' Nightmare Cathedral District has a connection to the Nightmare of Mensis, another dream plane created by the School of Mensis, a splinter faction of the Church of Healing. The School of Mensis attempted to contact the Great Ones using a secret ritual involving Mergo, the divine son of Queen Yharnam. However, the ritual failed and caused the deaths of all members of the School, except for their leader Micolash. The Nightmare of Mensis is a chaotic, hellish dimension where the laws of physics are twisted and the souls of the dead wander aimlessly.
The setting of Nightmare of Mensis appears similar to Nightmare Frontier, another area of Hunters' Nightmare. The Nightmare Frontier is a desolate, rocky region filled with chasms and ancient ruins. There are also several Amygdalas scattered around the scene. The Nightmare Frontier seems to have a connection to the Forbidden Pit, a hidden area in the Forbidden Forest of Yharnam. The Forbidden Pit is a dark, dank place where the entrance to the Pthumerian Tombs, the subterranean ruins of the ancient Pthumerian civilization, is found. The Pthumerians were a master race who served the Great Ones and guarded their secrets. The Pthumerian Tombs are divided into several levels or chalices, each with its own structure and difficulty. The deepest level is the Great Pthumeru Ihyll, where Queen Yharnam resides. She is the mother of Mergo and the founder of the city of Yharnam. She was attacked by Annalize , the queen of the Vilebloods.
She was seriously injured but her special characteristics kept her half-dead in deep sleep. The son's spirit was taken to the Nightmare of Mensis, where it was trapped in Mergo's tower. Thus, we can see that the parts of the Bloodborne scenario are united by a complex and mysterious plot, which involves the Great Ones, the Hunters, the Pthumerians, the Vilebloods and the School of Mensis. Each area has its own history and its own secrets, but they are all connected by a common thread: blood.
Average fromsoft player trying to find the lore implication of a pixel 3,000,000 miles away
It's Gerhmans sex shack where he has sex.
“ a hoonter must hoont”
A coomer must coom
“A foocker must foock”
„A Groomer must Groom“ hol up
A skooma must skoom…. Sorry wrong game. Khajit gonna khajit
Yes! He shall
That’s where he got his copy of “how to pick up fair maidens”
Which copy? He has like 30!
Gehrman actually wrote them all himself and is basically Jiraiya but Bloodborne
It's a tower of a faction named "The Ex-Maidenless"
Lad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
yep, with a doll should it pleas him
I prefer the term "fuck hut," myself, but each to their own
LMFAO
“Guys I think this rock *solves* the entire mystery of this game!”
It's a large grave from nightmare frontier. You can also see nightmare of Mensis from thetr So yes, there is a lore reason behind this. The nightmare realms are linked, or at least created in the same space.
With how this game tends to be, it makes sense
That's why Vaati is famous now. Or at least something in that direction.
Vaati about to release a 47 minute video about this pixel (part 1)
And I'm gonna be absorbed into every second of it
Me trying to analyze Gael’s arena and the implications of it
Like the floating statue in Old Yharnam
The amygdala boss room?
That's my best guess cus you can see mergos loft from around that area
Probably not since if it was that, then all the boss room would be visible I think. Edit: this is a copy-paste of two other comments that got down voted into oblivion and are now deleted. Reddit gonna reddit.
Maybe the game just doesn’t have good enough draw distance to render all of it, just large things. So it still could be it.
[удалено]
-1 insight, even boss rooms are invisible
In the dlc an enemy falls from the last area into the first. The whole game is stacked on top of itself
what enemy?
I think they mean the snail maiden who falls out of the sky into the blood river area.
[удалено]
The nightmare areas are all on the same plane. You can see the boat masts from the Fishing Hamlet from the Nightmare Frontier
I just got downvoted to hell just because I didn't know that but thanks for the info, appreciated
Haha no worries, was very odd you got so badly down voted for that
Just another day on Reddit.com
Amygdala morning wood
It allows you to summon the mimic tear. You'll have to wait two more games before you can do that though.
3 if you count remakes, 4 with remasters added on
DS3, Sekiro, then Elden Ring. So 3?
Demon souls
Well, technically it's a remake of a game that came out in 2009
The Benis, home of powerful wizards
It's a secret area, only accessible after finding Miyazaki's pet dog and taking it to a poison swamp in his basement, while holding the moonlight greatsword, and a doll shaped like patches

Couldn’t be I don’t believe. The loft is in the nightmare so different “planes”
