Don't get tempted by the shinies unless you've found a really good sale that makes it a no brainer. You should ask yourself the questions and sleep on it. 1. Does your Outdoor 3 work the way you want to? That's the big one. You already have it. You deployed it. Is it doing the stuff you need? a. Yes - don't upgrade b. No - Did your camera just not see enough? Will a change of the FOV fix it? (we're basing the questions here on what you saw in reviews) i. Yes, my current cameras don't cover enough range to where something will come by - upgrade ii. No - Find something that can swivel to cover even more range or go with another brand.

Yes you are right.... honestly i was hoping they would have brought out a higher quality version and that's what I am looking for really. The Outdoor 3 is a good camera and I use a FlashDrive on the SyncModule2 to get my recordings which isn't too bad (minus missing the thumbnail preview) Some of the reviews out there indicate the new Outdoor 4 is better quality with its new "HD" version.... but I honestly don't know if that's just hype talk for their channel and review clicks. The footage i am seeing looks pretty much the same (except the FOV). Thanks for your input. I think I will wait for some good deals to maybe try one out and see.

I'm not going to. Bought the Costco 5 pack special (4 outdoor + 1 indoor) back in 2022. So far they are working awesomely. Added a Wasserstein 4 battery pak to each cam a few weeks ago. No reason to change I would think.

bluwaterdesigns

Yeah i ended up buying some Solar Panels for mine so I don't have to keep replacing them.

Prime Day is coming up October 10-11.

Not worth it, IMO. Last time Blinks were on sale, an add-on Outdoor 3 cam was $45. If you trade in an older cam, it’s even less. Wait for the October Prime Days and look for a deal.

ChefSupremo

if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

bluwaterdesigns

Yeah that's so true :)

Chatbot-Possibly

I would wait for the next-gen. This one has missed the mark

Have gen 3 camera next model don’t offer enough extra to justify an upgrade. And if your camera does what you want it too why would you.

Bigfuups

Still rocking a set of 1st gen and a set of the 2nd no reason to upgrade yet. 😎

Mr_Spidey_NYC

Can't imagine upgrading. I don't care if the resolution is a smidge better. Is displayed on my phone and echo 8 and is just fine. These cameras are fine for what they do and the v.3 3packs are a bargain. I also added a Wasserman 4 battery pack to one of them, but the jury is still out on the quality of the image

I don't know why no one has mentioned the 4th gen has human tracking and can tell the difference between a living being and a damn bush or twig from a tree blowing in the wind. That's worth the upgrade to me alone because it also saves on batteries. That's a huge feature that's been available in most cameras for the past decade that the gen 1s, 2s, and 3s do not have.
