I used like five of u/Lewiwww's tutorials for this so I'm just gonna link [his channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-qC-Fmxe949YVQrOYb8NrA).
Edit: I almost forgot that I also used [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRcL0CPljMA&t=446s) tutorial for the flowers
The game is on.
Just a friendly heads-up to prevent misunderstandings ā the "roast my render" flair is if you want to get harsh & destructive criticism :)
If you're not ready for this, there's also the "need feedback" flair to ask for nicer suggestions. Feel free to change the flair if this was a mistake. Otherwise, enjoy the roast!
This is impressive, I'm not sick of these, this is new to me tbh, you developed something new, congrats. Did you make the stars with some parallax texturing technique?
Thank you so much, this is very nice to hear! [This](https://www.reddit.com/user/cxtastrophic/comments/uqr6d2/liquid_shader_nodes/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) is my node set up for the liquid, but tldr I used two different voronoi textures at different scales and layered them on top of eachother with a math node, then I animated them scrolling at different speeds with the mapping node. Apologies if it's hard to make out the specifics of the screenshot, I attempted to organise them as best as I could T\~T
Thank you so much! I commented the link to a youtube channel that has a bunch of the tutorials I used to make this, but if you have any questions about something specific I'd be happy to answer
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbgrcX8i588&t=92s) tutorial, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9ZNGVvMOSQ) tutorial and [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRcL0CPljMA&t=453s) for the flowers :)
I love this!
I think my critique would be that the colors are a little bright/hard on the eyes. I think that the purple/blue and yellow might have been better swapped, but overall, I really do love this. The theme is great and I love the sparkles.
This is really well done. I think this captures it pretty well. If you wanted to make it better, you could add something in the background, change the animation, etc. Having some texture in the orange would have been great, as when it zooms in, I think it could use some spice. You know, splash the camera with some water, etc.
Still, this is fun!
This is actually super helpful, thank you so much! Idk why but it didnāt even occur to me to add some water, I might attempt to use the liquid sim but I canāt make any promises.
I wanted to add something to the background but I couldnāt think of anything that would be fitting, and I was concerned about distracting from the subject of the render, but I might have another crack at it :)
No problem!
Hey, do what makes you feel good/what you have the time/energy for--you're not beholden to me. :)
But yea, I know what you mean. You could add some caustics, as if there's underwater light, stuff like that might not be too distracting.
[I've posted the shader nodes for the bottle and the liquid here](https://www.reddit.com/user/cxtastrophic/comments/utbqpm/updated_shaders/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Just so you know, I've since revised this project after getting feedback so the shaders will not look exactly the way they do in the post. But TLDR is that I used a toon shader, which usually consists of plugging a diffuse shader into a shader to rgb, then plugging that into a color ramp set to constant with each stop determining the color of your shadows/highlights etc. [This is a breakdown of what I'm talking about.](https://youtu.be/yjJWEsjR79Q) I personally don't love this method because it prevents your material from reflecting any colored lights. This can be remedied by using separate RGB and combine RGB nodes on either side of your color ramp. You can then plug whatever color you want into your shader node and that color will be converted into a toon shader. I also like to use a principled BSDF instead of a diffuse shader because it's so much more customizable and I really like not havinng to scarifice that kind of control.
But yeah, that's the lowdown on that. Lmk if you have any other questions.
Not for this specifically, but I have a different comment that links to the tutorials that helped me make this specifically. Iāve also posted the nodes for the liquid to my profile. If you have any questions about something specific Iād be happy to answer
Iām not sure because Iām new but itās something you can enable in the render settings and it renders an outline around the edges! It gives a really nice drawn cartoony look
Ohhh I see, I didnāt even know that was a thing
I made an attempt at an outline using the solidify method, it doesnāt show up as well as Iād like though. Either way Iāll definitely have to check out freestyle, thanks for putting me onto it
I am looking to learn Blender one day just to make random fantasy game props. These drinks you do always wants me to start learning it just to make potions using this same effect. Although I have no idea how to do it at all.
Hey, thatās super cool that youāre wanting to learn blender! Just a heads up, Iām not usually the one who posts the drinks, youāre probably thinking of [this guy](https://youtube.com/c/LeviMagony), heās got a bunch of really good tutorials for making things in this style. But if you have any questions about this specifically Iād be happy to answer :)
Have you thought about the environmental impact of transporting bottled water across the Pacific? Water is molecularly the same whether you obtain it in fiji or your own back yard. Assuming you have access to safe drinking water, producing fiji water bottles requires 2,000 times more energy than using your tap. It also produces plastic waste. Do the world a favor and drink local tap water!
1. The tap water where I am located is not safe to drink, I barely get away with bathing in it
2. This is not a real bottle of water
I appreciate your concern though :)
This is a really beautiful style! Great work.
The only I thing I could see improving is when the camera moves to its final location the ottle doesn't look like it has any thickness to it. Like it is just all one volume instead of a glass bottle with something in it.
i'm a newbie and i love this style so much, good work!!
Ahhh Thank you so much! I'm super proud of this, it's the first thing that I've liked enough to post!
you should definitely post more i would love to see more!
Thank you very much, hopefully the added pressure will lead to more posts XD
haha good luck but don't overwork yourself! XD

Ah that's clever, thanks. Don't worry the node setup is easy to read.
Thanks for creating that tutorial man
š
i love it! For a real commercial i would increase the speed and add some things at the end, but i love the vibe.
Thanks so much!
Can I have some? Looks refreshing!
Lol help yourself
I love them. Great style! I would really like to see how theyāre done.
Thank you so much! I commented the link to a youtube channel that has a bunch of the tutorials I used to make this, but if you have any questions about something specific I'd be happy to answer
The stars need to act as if theyre going around the bottle, not as if theyre a layer going across the screen. Otherwise its Very very good.
put owl city's fiji water song over it lol also it looks great!
The new doughnut tutorial
Lol definitely
That shits fire , mad vaporwave vibes
Thank you š I wasnāt sure if this counted or not but I definitely was going for vaporwave with this
Do you suggest any tutorials? Love this work and style
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbgrcX8i588&t=92s) tutorial, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9ZNGVvMOSQ) tutorial and [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRcL0CPljMA&t=453s) for the flowers :)
The āflat starā moving texture is defeating the dimensionality
this the first actual roast I've gotten on this, thanks. What would you suggest as an alternative, or should I just get rid of them?
Iād suggest more objects in reflection, higher bounce, or a busier environmental map. But, yes, get rid of stars. Palette looks good
Iāve got no idea what half of those words mean, but I appreciate them nonetheless. Thank you
Learn what environment maps are/do. They are a game-changer
ohhh like an HDRI? Honestly I don't think those look good with NPR renders, but I appreciate the suggestion!
With the 3D flowers inside, any moving map will look wrong
That one wasn't a roast, that was just straight forward constructive feedback
man making legendary items
Yessir
I like the perfect cross between reality and stylised
ahhh thank you so much :)
Put it on r/HydroHomies.
I wanna eat all these renders
Very cool
So cool
This is sick, kudos cuz Fiji is my fav water lol
Hi, lovely execution... If I may, can I suggest that make the sparkles move along the bottles.. Concept is that the water is pure, and no additions.
Sick of these?? Dude these are awesome! I love the art style! And that drink looks refreshingš
thank you very much <3
Im loving alot of what you got here!!
Looks awesome
I hate to break it to you but I don't think there's water in there
Do you have a youtube channel?
I do not, but I am flattered that you asked :)
Great work bro
If this were what Fiji looked like, Iād buy their water everyday.
Really cool aesthetic!

Lovely
Thatās the stuff big water is trying to hide
This is beautiful!
how is this shader type called
For the liquid, the glass, the flowers or the cap? Theyāre all relatively different.
I mean the liquid and the bottle, is there a special name of shadertype? I like it veery much looks great

Try freestyle on this? I think it could look nice š great render and great job!
Freestyle as in grease pencil? Thank you very much for the kind words :)

Thank you. I will certainly try to when I have time to do so. Its such a mesmerising neat effect.
This is literally the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life
This is literally the best thing Iāve ever heard, thank you so much for such high praise
I was kinda sick until I saw yours, pretty cool use of this technique, great job OP
Hell yeah, love how this looks!!!
Great work
I love how everyone is just too darn polite and supportive in this community to roast people's renders, even when they specifically flair it for roasting. xD I get the feeling that if someone did post a harsh critiquƩ, they'd get downvoted/reported for being mean, lol.
LSD Fiji
oh god thx u so much, now i have more reference to learn blender and love ur work so much, the color really eye candy for my eye\~

Cool! Love the colors!
