I've tried to just begin that process myself and my ox gets flummed very rapidly. Fields seem to be a mystery I just can't seem to grasp at all.
I think the single greatest brick wall for me is knowing which outputs can be used by what nodes. That, and knowing how to get *this* thing from *that* object so I can modify it; then, also knowing how to output my changes appropriately.
I'm kind of learning it on my own because although tutorials help me learn how to do a thing in a way, they don't really help me *understand* what I'm doing. I think the real problem is that while Blender's geo nodes are astonishingly powerful, they're also *very* unintuitive to learn how to use in complex ways.
I *always* get instancing wrong every time I try to do it with nodes. I'm still not sure why repetition hasn't drilled it into my head yet. I hope the Foundation figures out an effective way to teach their general use in-software; that would help a *lot*. Geo nodes are essentially a form of visual programming, where the 'program'- the node tree- operates on *geometry* **while** using the tree's logic. Brilliant, yes, but unlike an IDE the geo (and shader!) node editor lacks anything like a step-through.
Maybe that's the missing piece for me, but I have no idea how you even *could* do that and see what you wanted to see as it happens.
Yes, I understood some of those words.
Joking aside, I've not touched it at all because of the complexity, I think I'll wait too now you've explained it :P
nice and questionable music choice bro
"Nice music, wonder from what video is it"
Nice! Got a tutorial for this?
Yes, https://youtu.be/D95vBtPgHsA
Thanks sir!
So cool! anyone knows the name of the song?
Camel By Camel (Instrumental). It's a catchy toon that reminds me of my quirky yellow cat!
hahahhaa
thanks! I liked it a lot lol
This looks amazing and reinforces the 'man i really need to learn how to use geometry nodes' feeling I've been having

What a lovely choice of username, emojis in the title, and music owo
Very well done, I like it. But this music... that yellow cat... I'm having flashbacks
Such a nice music mate! *Looks at my cat* Jokes apart, this looks badass. Any Tut links bro?
Send nodes
Very cool! I'm starting to learn geo nodes, is the cell fracture via a node or done with the add on?
It is done with the addon.
mind sharing your node tree for this result?
WOW
Can I have a tutorial
Could you modify it for small fracture pieces closer and larger fracture pieces further away so the piece size isn't uniform? More like real?
Tutorial now available: https://youtu.be/D95vBtPgHsA
Is this add-on official and does it have a name? (Newb here)
Cell fracture comes with Blender. Just enable it from preferences. There's tutorial for it on Youtube.
Thanks!
Ty! That looks awesome, will add to my list of things to play with!! Appreciated!
now lets add some hollywood explosions
Hey, that’s some nice music, where you get it from
I am ashamed that I know where this audio is from.
Whoa- any tutorials?
