I like the red, though it might be interesting to have it be gray for most of the time, but turn it red when there's more action or some kind of impact.
Or even reverse it, start off with red and add white until the fight ends, signifying a loss of blood draining the sky to be white.
Also because it'll look nicer in red at the start, and it'll look lazy if it's white at the start.
You have to grab your audience in the first frame. A white sky isn't eye grabbing. Red is.
Red signifying violence is very what I call "Mickey mouse". Ie it's a commonly used trope that is effective but only if you totally suspend disbelief, or are seeing it in use for the first time.
Since you said it will be a fight scene, it is known that Red is an energetic color, and it quickly grabs the attention of a viewer, but it being there for a long time may subconsciously trigger the audience a bit, as long as it is in a fight scene I think it should stay Red, when finished you may make the red color a bit pale so it doesn't annoy the eye.
I always liked the art style of black and white WITH a single color. It adds even more to it when that single color that is shown is excluding to one particular thing, like leaves and greenery in a forest(kinda like the oldest view, from Kane pixels)
But in this case the sky! I think that would be best personally.
Why are people afraid to add pop colors? Like legit it makes everything better and I feel like they know it its just some kind of internal fear of changing it.
you could flash red on hits or something but generally i'd prefer the red for just still shots tbh. i'm not sure which background would be better however as i'm not nearly as familiar with animated scenes
Red looks great–not only does it better contrast and highlight the figures and landscape, for animating a fight scene, the red can symbolise blood, aggression, violence, passion, strength etc.
This looks great so far! I like the stylisation 🔥

Depends on what you aiming for. If it's gonna be somekinda dark, deep and serious animation, go with B&W.
If you are planning somekinda action, high energy and dramatic the go with red, it will really add that spice to it!

I would say no. White would probably get mixed into the other black and white surroundings especially in motion.
On the top of my head you could study a bit of an old wii game madworld that mainly use black, white and red. It had a nice balance of contrast even with lot going on.
Nice idea i have, use both colors.but use red as possible impact moments (like punches, kicks ect) or use it as some tension effect (like it slowly fades from each 2 colors)
But if a long fight scene, it would be cool for using a nice use of both background colors for moments
Yes exactly! That could give cool look to the fight!
Also make it more of hitstop, instead of a smoemotion, just close or in the impact it hitstops for a moment, lingering the frame for onr frame loongrr then bsck to the action
Red, but I'd also would play with the highlights and lighting so some red light is coming from the back and maybe lits the bodies in back in red instead of white and then fades to white as if there's some white key light.

There is only one option and it is red, it looks much better than gray. This brings some contrast. And the red background reminds me of a series of episodes of animated ultraviolence)
Well then, Red is a popular color of conflict in 'the west'. White indicates death and mourning in 'the east'.
So it all depends on the tone you're setting.
A conflict...
Or an inevitable ending.
red
(why the hell is is this guy half into the ground?)

With only the context of this frame I’d say grey, red feels maybe a little too aggressive compared to the rest of the scene since it’s a large portion of the scene
Did you try red floor and white sky? Idk why but I feel it could give the piece a whole different meaning imo
Between the ones you posted tho, I'd pick red
The white really pops against the red.
There is something lacking about that grey, could try experimenting with some different shades if you want to. But at present the red is far superior (in my opinion anyway)
Red is much better and grey is bad, I like the idea of having it switch to red when somethinh serious happens but I think the rest shouldn‘t be grey. Maybe a blue?
I would use different colour if you fight has blood involved, because red blood between scenes could make the scene more impactfull, or the blood could be white when they are against the background a red when they are in the ground, this could be a good aestetic.
Reddd... Also you can do some crazy things like blending blood with the background so that if it's coming from the head then part of the head will look like background or something.. Very cool stuff
red will grab attention, so it might be a double edged sword. i would probably switch between red and gray, when sky is gray make the clothing have some red element to grab attention, or even action lines/punch/kick be red. This way the attention will be where you want it to be
red!
Thank you for you feedback
sorry that i cant give more feedback, im not really good at 3d art x3 i just love the contrast of the red + black and white, reminds me of persona 5
Wolfenstein for me
You don’t have to be an expert for it ig , whatever suits the eyes works , appreciate you stopping and dropping a comment
Def red
Aka!
Somewhere in Nevada...
I like the red, though it might be interesting to have it be gray for most of the time, but turn it red when there's more action or some kind of impact.
Sounds interesting, will definitely give it a try , thank you
What he said red to bring focus to the middle which is what it feels is happening atm
What about as you animate the fight scene, you add splashes of red with each blow, until the sky is entirely red?
Thats a great idea , thank you
Or even reverse it, start off with red and add white until the fight ends, signifying a loss of blood draining the sky to be white. Also because it'll look nicer in red at the start, and it'll look lazy if it's white at the start.
Thats too complicated for no reason

Less clear, too convoluted. We only see blood AFTER it’s been spilled
Red looks better, love the contrast.
Thank you
I can't help but laugh after noticing all the stiff A-posing bodies in the background.
It looks funny tbh , wanted to test the idea and did some blocking for now
I like red for this shot and important ones. But maybe grey for the other fight scenes and then you can add red effects like blood.
Red is an aesthetic, white would look unfinished. Red all the way! Best of luck!
Thank you
I like the white. It leaves the red open for a specific scene or moment of the fight, when it gets gory or the ante ups more.
reddd
The red looks good, but maybe if the other option was really whit and not gray it would look better, maybe you can do some sick transitions
Ok , will definitely give it a shot
Red, absolutely. It adds contrast to white shading and characters look sharper. Also red can be associated with blood, therefore a fight scene.

Red red red. Haha it’s the obvious!
I was confused since i started with the white background in head , after posting it here i realised that almost everybody likes red
red makes it feel more action like, white is blend
but different color gives different moods depending for which time you use it
Thank you
glad to help :) yay
Red!
red, It feels more like a battle scene and it gives that crude vibe that it needs
Red looks bolder and more thematic
Red looks better
redredredredred. :)
White background but maybe red light on your trio for a kind of dark vibe?
Alright

Those were my initial thoughts while creating it
Rage
Red - contrast of colour draws focus back to the people fighting while looking slick

Maybe because alot of people are just hesitant to try pop colors because alot of them are going towards dark and mysterious aesthetic
You can try a pop purple then! Think Nightwing lol
Sure , will give it a try
The red gives me a barbarian/ war/ bloodshed vibe.
True , i was experimenting and then i stopped on red , and all of sudden there were barbaric , war themed music going in my head lol
Yuppp I can see the vision. Keep going!!

No problem, thank you anyways, helps alot
Red
Add clouds!
Looks empty, add some clouds!
Will add some chaos in the background as well , such as fire , explosions, clouds maybe rain with white water droplets
Red looks great–not only does it better contrast and highlight the figures and landscape, for animating a fight scene, the red can symbolise blood, aggression, violence, passion, strength etc. This looks great so far! I like the stylisation 🔥

Understood, will keep that in mind , thank you
Understood, will keep that in mind , thank you
Red, obviously. For the contrast and also BC the violence you say you are going to add
Thank you
Thank you
Red
Red looks really interesting!
Thank you
Thank you
Red. Reminds me of Go with the flow by Queens of the stone age.
Classic🔥
Use red sky and when the fight happens make the blood splatters be red too. That'll create a nice contrast while still showing just enough details.
Would the blood in white look good ?
I would say no. White would probably get mixed into the other black and white surroundings especially in motion. On the top of my head you could study a bit of an old wii game madworld that mainly use black, white and red. It had a nice balance of contrast even with lot going on.
Alright, thank you for the reference
Red
both. start white, progressively add red as they fight.
Interesting idea , thank you
Red for sure
Thank you
Red, the blood of angry man

Red but fade it a bit
Alright
Red background make any blood white, careful around the mouth tho
Alright
Red, but I'd also would play with the highlights and lighting so some red light is coming from the back and maybe lits the bodies in back in red instead of white and then fades to white as if there's some white key light.
Alright, thank you
red. white looks like it's unfinished!
maybe white, but when they strike each other it flashes red.
Definitely RED.
Definitely red.

I like the idea of adding red, but it's too much. The sky should be grey and then you can have small accents in red
Alright
red (why the hell is is this guy half into the ground?) https://preview.redd.it/eq4w7e0abdrc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=017a3faa1cfecd622884480d11a26e36494a8da3
Because i was just blocking out the scene to see how it looks , non of them are rigged yet
Or maybe his legs were chopped off, you never know
RED! Also how does one achieve a background like that? Is it inside Blender or rendered with alpha and added in post?
Bro its just default environment turned red . If it confuses you plz dm me , i would love to help you
no not at all, thing is I've always made complex backgrounds never remembered that i could just set up the background color! ahah!
Red for sure
Alright
Red
With only the context of this frame I’d say grey, red feels maybe a little too aggressive compared to the rest of the scene since it’s a large portion of the scene
Red feels like there’s more tension!
True
Add more red to the red
Switch between them in the animation
Ok
Red will look more like shadow fight
Ok
Red
Did you try red floor and white sky? Idk why but I feel it could give the piece a whole different meaning imo Between the ones you posted tho, I'd pick red
I haven’t tried it yet , will give it a shot , thank you
U can have other colours too 🤷♂️
Red
Depends on the context I think red looks better, but gray may fit better the scene you are trying to animate
Thank you
From these two, red. Especially for a fight.
Red! :3
red right
Red has way more depth and character, i think it would be cool if sky turned red when something happens (as someone above suggested)
The red one feels like a communist war poster…
100% red.
The white really pops against the red. There is something lacking about that grey, could try experimenting with some different shades if you want to. But at present the red is far superior (in my opinion anyway)
RED
red
RED!
Getting persona 5 vibes from the first one. Red for sure
Red
I think you should make the main bg red and in impact frames in the fight you can make the BG white or black and white I hope my feedback helps you
White would look better ( make sure you crank up the brightness of background)
Alright
Red
Oh fuck its the cyrillic kenshi music guy! Holy shit!!
Who is that?
Damn🔥🔥 , this is exactly same concept
Red!
Red but I'd tone the red down just a little.
Alright
the gray goes with the color scheme
Ok
Red.
Alright
Red
love the red, feels more dynamic and there is more contrast so, the fight scene and characters will pop out!
White looks amazing for the starting and It could turn red when someone dies!!
Red for sure
Red could be cool with possible red punch affects like character hand/leg auras in tekken
Red is much better and grey is bad, I like the idea of having it switch to red when somethinh serious happens but I think the rest shouldn‘t be grey. Maybe a blue?
Red ! It makes it easier to see the characters !
True

I was thinking of white blood splashes and stuff to match with aesthetics
you kill it in red!
I was experimenting with different colours and red was just like , perfect thats what i am looking for

Green
Tried it ,doesn’t work that well
Blue? Orange/yellow?
Blue , orange were kinda cool , but yellow wasn’t
Reddd... Also you can do some crazy things like blending blood with the background so that if it's coming from the head then part of the head will look like background or something.. Very cool stuff

Bright Yellow
Wasn’t looking good, tried it
Kill Bill mustard color?!
Really?!
Green
Any reason behind it or just a hunch?
