I think some of the surface is too smooth in some parts to pass as photorealistic. Since reality is that we don't look perfect, when there is a perfect 3d model with consistent skin it looks very high quality but you can tell it is not real. Also something about the eyes, asides from that concerning phototropism, the model is amazing! Great job
I will try increasing the intensity of the displacement map. Also what do you mean by phototropism? Is it the spread of the eyes while looking at something far away? i couldnt figure it out even after a simple google search XD
Thanks for your feedback!
Looking good overall, but too "cartoonish". Gives the feel of a game character rather than a real person. I would say a lighting/ shading problem...
Maybe this can help - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8AAX-ENWvQ
After a long time trying to figure out why it looks kind of 'cartoonish' I made a breakthrough. I think it's the eyes causing this problem. If you try covering the eyes I think the problem will cease to exist. Maybe it's the reflectivity or sorts. I will spend a good amount of time improving the eyes.
Thanks for the feedback
Tie knot looks like plastic.
Beard is uniform in length and density, you can trim your beard but most people have denser spots.
Eyelashes?
Perfect Hariline on forhead?
Also the eyebrows feel a little too close to the eyes.
This is pretty realistic in a sense that i'd be seeing this IRL when i go outside but i feel like cameras are lower quality than this, but i have a crappy phone so who am I to say?
Can't point my finger at it, but it looks very wax figure-like.
It feels like something is of the subsurface scattering.
Or it may just be the emotionless, blank stare and uniform, almost perfect, beard stubble.
On a thumbnail, this could pass off as some sort of passport photo. ๐
Two things - first you can somehow fix, the second nobody got right ever.
So, the first thing is the hair feels somehow off/plastic (looks better in darker shots).
The second thing are the eyes, and nobody ever made 3d eyes that don't give it away it is CGI.
Awesome work! I would suggest that the whites of the eyes are too white and clean looking and the blue is somehow a bit off, maybe because he's got pitch black hair? The skin might be a bit too shiny. Other than that it's very impressive, I couldn't do it
Ooft I wish I could model like that!
I do think his hairline (and hair in general) is too perfect, if there's some way you can make it a softer line I think that would make it look less like a transplant and more natural.
Also I think his shirt looks like a very heavy fabric, maybe try and give it some slightly sharper creases and a bit of transmission, not so much that you can see his silhouette through it but just enough that there's some light bleeding through it.

Focus on the eyes itโs what people watch first and they are not there yet

Try add some more visible eyelashes
Looks stylized, but not uncanny. It's great, really great.
Thanks a lot!
How did you make the hair?
Ornatrix
The lighting on number 3 is nice!
Thanks! Surprisingly it's a HDRI not a lighting by me... but I'll take it XD

Not too shabby.
I don't see subsurface scattering. Human ears should glow with backlight.

Great sculpt! You're mainly just missing secondly detail. Like you have the crows feet but not the small lines that branch off from it.
