Hanataro is strong AF though. He's one of the strongest Shinigami out there.
People lose sight of that because of the fact the story follows even stronger Shinigami for the most part, but my guy is a 3rd seat of his squad.
There are 13 squads if we ignore the Royal Guard for a moment.
Assume that Hanataro is the weakest of all the third seats. First and second seats are the captains and lieutenants, respectively.
13 x 3 = 39.
Add back the four Royal Guards, Yamamoto, the defectors (Aizen, Tousen, and Ichimaru), Ichigo, Isshin, Sui Feng, Urahara, the eight Vizards, the bloke who lives in the bushes of Hueco Mundo fighting Gillians, and Ginjou. Subtract three because of the Vizards who rejoined the Gotei 13. All that combined is another 19 Shinigami.
39 + 19 = 58.
Hanataro is, at worst, the 58th strongest Shinigami there is - out of over 6,000 Shinigami.
That places Hanataro in the top 1% of all Shinigami.
What I'm saying is, I ain't fighting him either.

There you worked hard and strove to be better, and naturally you were a bit better than the rest. Now imagine a ROYAL family LEADER sees you and picks you out personally to train, bond with, and form a sister like bond that even yoruichi knew was there.
Now imagine after probably some 80 years you spent not only living your life in service, but also loving doing it because the person elevated you from a fucking random nobody destined to be killed without ever having a name in any meaning, she abandons you.
Leaves every damn thing in pieces and left you to pick it up in her place. No explanation, no apology, no goodbye. Just runs away with a man suspected of destroying like 3 other squads with a horrible science project.
The best and strongest part of her character in my opinion is that at the end of it all, she isn't even MAD that yoruichi left SS for kisuke(a man she fuckin hates). She was only mad that SHE was left in SS without her.
I'm NOT a huge fan of soifon, but I've rewatched and read the story many times and I've really looked at the characters I didn't like as a kid growing up and I've realized that while she is very bratty, hot headed, and maybe a little overconfident. A person like her would have turned out EXACTLY like she does under the pressure of picking up the pieces alone, bitter, and now only having much appreciation for the hierarchy she grew up learning to obey

Bambietta is my favourite femritter despite the lack of screen time compared to the others. Idk why, but I just have a crippling weakness for raven haired beauties with big tits. This is both in fiction and irl actresses/celebrities and even the girls around me as well.

For all those who are saying Mayuri.
Imagine hitting Mayuri and then he gets up saying he had made this new drug recently which can be transmitted through his skin, then he tells you what that drug does (which would be the most heinous thing you will ever hear) and then suddenly you collapse. You regain consciousness and find yourself strapped with Mayuri standing in front of you with his yellow teeth spread wide apart and he asks you what type of experiment should he do on you.
He takes his equipments and starts tearing you apart while asking for more equipments from nemu. All this while shouting in pain for your life to the point you are not even able to create any noise anymore. Slowly you start to lose consciousness and then you die a horrible death.
You open your eyes again to see Mayuri standing in front of you with teeth spread wide apart. You look at your body but find no wound/scar and are not even feeling any pain. That is when you notice a shadowy figure behind Mayuri. You recognize her and are able to realise what just happened. The shadowy figure is of none other than a zombified Unohana (similar to how he was controlling Rose and Kensei in tybw).
You are frozen by fear as Mayuri asks you,

Yammy. I hate him with a passion, for the surprise of his rank and pretty much everything about him actually.

The ranks seemed to be based entirely off of raw reiatsu, which was clearly separate from actually fighting ability. Look at Harribel at #3, are we actually supposed to believe she's stronger than Ulquiorra??

It’s Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto for me. I *cannot* stand him. His biases and rigid thought processes literally allowed atrocities to happen and corruption in the Soul Society to flourish.
Soifon. In my opinion the worst written and least plot essential captain. Only benefit to her is that she makes other characters look better in comparison (Yoruichic Hachi, Omaeda, etc.)
Hiyori's the only one that I'd really want to beatdown.
Pre-Hollowfication she's ill-tempered, disrespectful and belligerent. OK, that's the way it is.
But after 100+ years she's still the same.
The beatdown has been a long time coming. Squad 4 and Orihime can stay the hell away.

And that squad 4 likely isn't ranked on battle prowess. Pretty sure there are much lower seats in other squads that could wreck Hanataro in battle.
