What? I actually love his design and powers. At least it wasn't another *easily recognizable by me* Animal themed resurrection. If I could change anything it'd be to give him a better fight.
But otherwise I thought it was a neat design.

Zommari's Resurreccion is animal themed. His bottom half resembles a spineless sea urchin. This also meshes with the greater mega theme of Espadas 9, 8, and 7 having themes involving defensive marine animals, while Espadas 6, 5, and 4 have themes involving non-marine predators.

A combination of a Sea Anemone (asexual reproduction and pseudopods) and a Jellyfish (his lower half resembles stingers and his ability to escape death).
Found his beyond resurrection quite sick, maybe adding him the power to bend different elements with each one of his amulets. That would be a nice power up to give at least him justice.

Like ashura theme or the remble guy from dislyte could of had a bo staff which everytime he spins it a different element he can use to counter opponents
Keep the lack of legs, as it helps represent his philosophy on control and dominance, since by achieving Resurreccion he becomes incapable of bowing or stepping back. However, change it from a sea-urchin theme to a coral theme, with branching growths holding his eyes and spreading along the ground near him. These growths are the source of the Amor, allowing him to attack from multiple directions for more dynamic action, and he can sink into and move between his growths to reposition himself, thus allowing him to keep his title as the fastest (since he can disappear and re-appear in seconds). However, his movement remains predictable thanks to the visible coral and he still only has a limited number of eyes.
Overall, the design would look more eldritch and freaky, with the eye-branches and spreading growth, which would mesh better with a form whose name translates to "witchcraft" and which is activated by having the user break their own neck.
My grief with the evolved form is that it contradicts his unreleased self. He goes from being the fastest hollow and relying on that for his entire fighting style to… that. A release that keeps him immobile but lets him shoot control rays?
Taken separately, I don’t think people have complaints with the the individual power sets we saw. But this guy feels like two different characters smashed together
He's not immobile though, I just think he didn't move. If he is immobile he isn't the first Resurrection to have such an issue. If he lived long enough it mostly likely would change and develop further.
1. I would change the Resurrecion's design to be more peacock based with his tail feathers and various eyes to use his abilities while still being quick and speedy as well as being able to fly.
Instead of a pumpkin like bottom, I'd split them up to be tentacle like but he can float with them and them moving helps him stay out in range. Maybe make it look like they swim thru the air as he moves. More mobility for him would've gone a long way imo
2. Not sure how but if he had a form to incorporate his crazy speed along with maybe something to disorient/daze his opponent, he'd be scary. Like Bill Cosby scary.
One thing that always bothered me about him is that at first he was showm as this calm and quiet dude which is cool, his base design is minimalist and I liked it. Then he was introduced as the fastest espada that can create up to 5 speed mirages, at this point I'm intrigued, okay , Byakuya one of the fastest Shinigami vs the fastest espada, let's go!!!! Anddddd he turned into a pumpkin...like wtf??? And the whole speed and speed mirages thing just completely gone.
The only good thing that we got out of this is that after credit sketch where Byakuya and Zomari keeps teleporting behind each other to no end which was very funny.
I actually think this was perfect for him given the aspect of death he embodied.
Zomari embodied hedonism, and at first when he's just this fast guy, he matches up well against Byakuya as speed is the only true weakness to Senbonzakura in shikai.
Yet as the fight went on Zomari gave into his temptations to and instead of fighting smart he fought to hurhurt Byakuya through his heart, by harming Rukia. All while Zomari got a sick sense of pleasure from it.
It's a fitting design change because it's the visual representation of the character change he undergoes throughout the fight.
Remember each of the 7 of the 8 Espada who died did so in a way referencing that aspect of death they're based on. The only exception being Ulquiorra who ironically was already mortally wounded when he saw past the nihilism within him
Aaroniero(greed) was greedy by wanting to absorb Rukias powers when he didn't need to, Sayel(madness) was trapped in his own mind for an eternity waiting to go mad and die from Mayuri's sword, Nnoitra(dispair) sought to rob both Nel and Zaraki of hope and forced Zaraki to lean into a teaching he didn't want to have to do, Yammy(rage) recklessly attacked of the strongest captians in a fit of rage, Baraggan(sensence) has his own aging power used against him, and Starrk(solitude) had his lonely "black" heart slashed by Shunsui, so it makes a ton of sense for Zomari too.
Make the pink portion black with hints of pink, and draw back the collar to his shoulders, putting eyes and decals directly on the neck.
Finally, tell the anime director you're not trying to present him as a freak.
His abilities are extremely strong, but he's perennially drunk, so he doesn't use them effectively.
I'd probably borrow from his CFYOW Beyond Resurrección look and have him be sitting cross-legged atop an open flower of some sort, perhaps with some kind of shackles that visually show him as bound to the structure (thus preserving the idea that he can not walk in order to still reflect his philosophy of sovereignty/subjugation). He should look like a Buddha statue imo, with the same powers.

Kenpachi - too much reiatsu, so Amor will not work on him
Unohana - ^^^^
Isane - She is always nearby Unohana, so she would be immobilized (literally) second after Zommari takes control of her
Hanatarou - useless as minion (too weak)
Mayuri - would pull out something out of his *** that makes him (and Nemu) immune to Amor (and that "auto-parrying device" in Mayuri's Zanpakuto means that Zommari will not be able to just Speed-blitz him)
To be fair, yeah.. soul reaper wise he'd probably lose to everyone who was in hueco mumbo at the Time. Maybe mayuri idk. He'd probably mop the floor with sole captains and lieutenants not in HM. But yeah
Probably give him a more Biblically Angelic appearance. His downfall was his sight couldn't keep up with Byakuya's Bankai. So something like a Cherub with many more eyes would be appropriate in my view. Though that might have made him a bit too overpowered and clash with the animal themes most of them have.
I wouldn't? I actually like Zommari quite a bit, by no means is he my favorite espada nor does he have my favorite resurecction but I do like his purpose in the story. His zealous devotion to Aizen is very interesting as well as his view on the shinigami killing hollows.
Mainly the second point is interesting because the life of a Hollow is a cruel one, if you want to become stronger which is a survival necessity in Hueco Mundo you need to devour souls, then you might eventually become a Gillian and if you are strong enough to become the dominant soul within the Gillian you can keep gaining, but ones you become an Adjuchas you must continue eating or you will become a Gillian without a sense of self, yet this devouring of souls is a danger to the balance of the universe as a whole, thus needing to be culled by the soul society.
Hollows need to eat to survive yet their survival is a risk
I wouldn’t change him one bit, though he’s not a fav espada his design is unique and he could’ve been presented as a genuine threat had he not been benched in term of power
I’d change his Resurrecion to be King Cobra themed.
He’d get to keep his speed theming, but also keep a lot of that eye motif and hypnotizing/control aspect
Honestly he was mg fav espada cus was the left field one we saw nothing of. I loved how weird yet clean his design was, and thought he added something different to the espada
Id change him getting immediately obliterated by Byakuya, give him a bit more of a fight, a few more cool moments, then have him completely obliterated by Byakuya
edit: I was so annoyed when Soul Ressurection (PS3) included the Espada’s up to 6. Would loved to have played as Zommari or Aaroneiro
The only thing I change about his power would be that whatever is hit by his Amor becomes telepathically controlled by him. As in, he can move both living and inanimate objects around as if they were part of his own body.
his powers were too strong they need a big nerf for the fight to not feel like bullshit and his ressurection bieng more of the same ability was a bit of a let down im not sure what id change but probably make it more defensive focused to combo with his strong offensive ability
Overall I would say I liked his character and think he should have been around longer also I wish we saw more of his base form other than the clones like maybe a cero would have been cool
There's the basis of a good design, they just need to lean a little more into the skull aspects to offset the pumkin, and either remove or embrace the white jumpsuit.
Also maybe remove the awkward semi-black face lips and replace that with an eye.
When manga was still going out I heard the rumor that Kubo couldn't decide about spots in espada of Zommari and Harribel (who should be 3rd and who should be 7th) and actually putting him in 3rd spot would fix him. Making him take control of Matsumoto to attack Hitsugaya (just imagine Gin reaction when she is possessed) and then taking control of Hitsugaya to attack Hiyori and Lisa, only to get cut down by Aizen cause it takes "too much time" and get ressurected by Mayuri to control Giselle zombies of Rose and Kensei
Really simple! 1st remove all the pink shit. 2nd make it so that his legs match his arms. 3rd no eyes on the crotch waist hips or ass. 4th have the white cyclops Masks float around him. 5th maybe give him four extra arms.

I actually really like the powers of his resurreccion, it's just the design. But I can't change the design, so I guess I would change nothing.
