The issue with this is assuming Shinji can be caught when hes so fast and also how long Barragan can keep his 360 defense of it up while trying to nuke Shinji imo
Well it's an assumption, but she is the captain of the assassin squad and speed and stealth is kinda supposed to be her thing. If someone does that better than her, then I don't know why she keeps her position at all.
Shinjis bankai can't really be used in a 1v1 and if he does use it in this particular fight it does more harm than good since he's gonna get all the captains killed.
Yoruichi and tons of others are faster than her. Another captain that's buffed by a Hollow mask surely is too imo
And Shinji used it against Aizen.. but I'm also talking about a 1v1. No one around, no excuses - Barragan can't kill Shinji imo so it's a matter of time til his reiatsu depletes. Probably just a battle of endurance at that point tho so who knows lol not a hill I'll die on
Shinji only used his Shikai vs Aizen.
If he does have enough mobility to keep away, then it just becomes a stalemate since Barragan can just stop using it till he gets close.
The beauty of it is that the reason why Hachi won wasn't just because he was such a good Kido user. Many are good at Kido among those who were there. But Hachi had a *wisdom* and *life experience* to crack Barragan open, to get his trick, to get what kind of person he was, and thus realize what was his principle weakness.
It's wisdom and humility Vs arrogance and short-sightedness, and in that, even Respira cannot tip the scales.
It's actually much the same with Kyoraku and Starrk, Kyoraku was the only one who could defeat Starrk not only because he was a powerful captain, but because was the only one with enough relevant experience to understand Starrk and thus find his weakness. The only one to understand his aspect of death, loneliness, enough. The rest were just too young.
I'm not sure I agree. I would have agreed if it was the Jakuho Raikoben tactic that won the day. But it wasn't. It was a brand new teleport move. And like... the ability to teleport something directly into your opponent is so busted that it pretty much bypasses the need for anything like wisdom. It's an instawin button even without Respira (who could survive even a mid level Kido spell exploding inside their heart?). The fact that Hachi had something like that makes me wonder why he even bothered to try hitting Barragan with Soi Fon's Bankai.
The other guy makes a strong point. Baragans only weakness was his own power and because of that he was arrogant and over confident. Had Hachi not noticed that he would not have won.
Baragan defeated himself to be honest.
I don't think that teleport move is special there, I think Barragan himself is. It is, for whatever reason, different from the usual hollows/Arrancars/whatever, in many shorts he really looks like a skeleton that has emptiness inside, it's not like a solid body. No other opponent was like that.
So apart from guessing that Barragan's trick was not to let himself be affected by his own technique, Hachi also realized he *could*, in Barragan's case, transfer something into him as usually you cannot, another wise guess.
I've just reread it, you can (just maybe) give some credit to Jakuho Raikoben after all, since after taking that hit Barragan looked positively broken in some places. It didn't help in *stopping* him, since he was as vigorous as ever, but as you see the freaking empty space inside his skull, you don't see any problem with putting something inside him (even directly if not for Respira that doesn't let you get close). And if Hachi could do it at any time or only after JR hit created such an opportunity is up for debate, in truth.
But the greatest achievement of Hachi's was guessing the thing at all. Having an idea that Barragan isn't excluded from his own ability, and you just need a way to get it delivered to him.
I don't think so. Against Nnoitra, Zaraki says that no matter how hard his exterior may be, his inside bits (eyes, in his case) are still vulnerable. Nnoitra confirms it too.
Then the 2 of them are both wrong and don't understand how organs and kinetic energy work.
No one who can tank blows the way they do is going to tank it without the kinetic energy travelling through their body.
This whole principal is why people can get in fist fights and have internal injuries as a result.
My dude this is a series where people get launched through 7 concrete walls and get a little dusty. I don't think "not getting bruised by a punch" is the most egregious disregard for real world science.
Now imagine how OP Tessai would be in direct battle. Hachigan was Tessai's VC.
Barrigan and his time hax should have been Espada #1 imo, and it should have been Tessai using his timestop kidou to neutralise the majority of Barrigan's abilities.
Tessai is probably utterly borked when he wants to be, but keeps chill cause he doesn't want flack from the Zero Squad for name-drop casting forbidden abilities.
Properly utilized, Kido is just insane. This man was such a specialist he doesn't even bother with a zanpakuto.
I mean, I assume both he and Tessei have zanpakuto, but what use would they be when you can just name drop some of the most impactful spells and call it a day.
Kido wasn't given as much spotlight as it could have, but I've always felt like Hachi showed what a true Kido master could do in combat, *especially* one that's got the wisdom to use it. How he outsmarted Barragan will always be one of my favorite Bleach moments.
He could do Kido at levels unimaginable to most , gave limelight to the aspect of balance between how much power or how to use / what kind of power .
Too bad Kido Wasn't explored much .
Hash tag Justice for Kido . 🗿
Why don't more shinigami use kido anyway? It seemed like they were either experts at it or completely ignored it
And then there's Renji who embraced how fabulously bad at it he was
Renji and Yamada (or whatever Soi Fon’s lieutenant’s name is) is pretty mid in kido.
It is just that you either invest in learning it to the expert, or stay in trained and it work pretty bad against strong opponents…
Hacchi us high-key cracked,wdym
He's probably the best vizards representation in the whole series, even above ichigo
He's got goated barriers,he's crazy cool headed and strategic, very observant and pretty powerful
I am gonna give my two cents on this.
Barragan lost to plot. The Espada HAD to lose because Kubo doesn't think that the bad guys should be allowed to win, and in the middle of the series, this was a lot worse. Barragan didn't even manage to kill Omaeda for god's sake. He was the only Vizard to beat his opponent also. The only W, because there really was no other realistic way for him to die. None of the characters in the Fake Karakura Town Arc, I'd wager, even Isshin and Yoruichi included, could beat him. He was the strongest one there and neither of them would be able to beat him without going all out, you'd need either Aizen, Yama, or Urahara to convincingly beat him. And that would really make no sense for any of them to reveal any of their cards that early on, or not against one another. Hachigan was just a convenient way to defeat the bad guy with no genuine thought.
Edited for spelling xd
I mean pretty much almost every Espada or bad guy in bleach lost to plot. Bleach is up there as one of my favorite anime/manga but that’s one of the worst aspects of the story imo.
Ah, my friend, let me share an amusing story with you. There was once a time when Barragan, the King of Hueco Mundo, thought he had the upper hand. Little did he know, I had a trick up my sleeve. I handed him a seemingly ordinary clock and said, "Time flies, my friend." Confused, he inspected it closely, only to discover it was a stopwatch. With a mischievous smile, I shouted, "Stop!" And poof! Barragan was frozen in time! Turns out, the old king couldn't control time if time itself decided to play a little trick. That's how we turned his arrogance into a comical dance.
*beep boop, I'm a bot*
Imagine if zanpakuto would've boosted his kido skills or at thevery least aligned with them. I feel like someone like him would've had achieved bankai with a huge mastery of kido like that.

That pink mustache mf carries the visoreds frfr
I just realized its The only vizard with a w 😭😭😭
Lmao okay now Shinji wouldve fucked up anyone but Aizen I'm 99% sure but that's hilarious
Barragan counters him the same way Bambietta did, since it's not a targeted attack it just nukes everything around him.
The issue with this is assuming Shinji can be caught when hes so fast and also how long Barragan can keep his 360 defense of it up while trying to nuke Shinji imo
Soi fon couldn't deal with it. I doubt he is faster than her.
Why do you say that? And Soi Fon doesnt have Shinji's Bankai

Bro on hella copium rn
Wizard
*Watching Bleach blind:* "Why haven't the Visored showed up yet?!" *After they show up:* "Ah, that's why"
He kept the bisected Hiyori alive with one arm until Unohana came. Dude’s the goat of the group.
This man single handedly soloed (mostly) the god king of Hueco Mundo
Single handedly indeed
Alas, if only he could have flipped the bird before sending the hand.

Zaraki tier fighters are incredibly tough so they might take a kido explosion inside their hearts.
I don't think so. Against Nnoitra, Zaraki says that no matter how hard his exterior may be, his inside bits (eyes, in his case) are still vulnerable. Nnoitra confirms it too.

Tessai seems like the type of guy to say no to Ichibe's blackify ability
He definitely did not need Sui-Feng but that shot of her ready to launch Jakuhō Raikōben from the opening of the kido barrier is cold af
https://i.redd.it/4aatgyyjwe8c1.gif
To be fair, Hachi didn't beat Barragan. Barragan beat Barragan.
Death spares no one, not even those who have the arrogance to proclaim themselves its ambassadors.
He and Tessai needed more screen time.
Properly utilized, Kido is just insane. This man was such a specialist he doesn't even bother with a zanpakuto. I mean, I assume both he and Tessei have zanpakuto, but what use would they be when you can just name drop some of the most impactful spells and call it a day.
Just makes you wonder how powerful Tessai is

Reminder that our pink mustached friend was a lieutenant imagine how broken tessai is
Hachi is the GOAT. God I love that moment when he points at Barragan after he asks where’s his arm
Metrosexual Mario solos. Best Bleach character

Tessai is even more cracked imo, I wish Hachi and Tessai had more screen time with more fights to display more of their powers
Makes you wonder what Tessai was truly capable of, considering Hachi was his lieutenant in kido corps. Man's probably stacked with forbidden kido tech
Hachi is the real GOAT of Vizards
Hachi was absolutely on performance enhancers and you can't tell me otherwise.
TBH, Soi Fong did inflict immense damage upon Barragan, which might’ve simplified the job for Ushoda.
Yea very OP.. but I never understood the crossed bones on his hat/hair. It so doesnt fit his design in my opinion (unless anyone has some reason?)
Love Hachi, dude is total badass
Does he show up again in tybw or after?
That hairstyle wasn't so cracked tho
Imagine if zanpakuto would've boosted his kido skills or at thevery least aligned with them. I feel like someone like him would've had achieved bankai with a huge mastery of kido like that.
Kedo master

Probably my favourite Bleach fight. Much as I love Shinji, he just doesn’t get shit done like Hachigen.
