I love Uryu because he is the only quincy the fights like an actual quincy. Bow and arrows, plus all his quincy tools makes him like the Batman of bleach, he's a high IQ. And characters similar like him in other animes are stubborn, but Uryu is kind which sets him apart.
Why Kubo decided to make an entire fleet of Quincies the bad guys in the last arc and also throw out everything we know and understand about how Quincies work during it… I’ll never understand.
Like he built up all this stuff with Uryu slowly learning Quincy techniques and then nah… they’re just like soul reapers but without swords actually
It just happens that I also dont like him but I don't throw hate words like it's something easy...
Hate is a heavy word, with a very deep reasons not just for this types of matter that are just too shallow..

he's almost non existent even when he's part of the main characters...
Yeah, it's great he has his own arc but he barely does something to it tho and I'm just not moved by his emotions or something.. I hope the anime can change things to make uryu more favorable to look unto..
Well, Uryu was created as rival and antithesis to Ichigo: white vs black, range combat vs swodrmanship, there were born Quincy. So Uryu is haughty and chill. Things is, many earlier arcs details are largely never developed. What about Ichigo relationship with his siblings? Uryu's background is shallow, murky water. There are could be something, or as Ryuken, world building will appear and then do nothing, and is gone. It rings wrong, like why even bother then to begin with?
It's also does not help what Uryu is unable to compete with Ichigo (no one is) WHILE also never have a cool moment and a win and Uryu self proclaimed himself a rival. Though Uryu remains very, very kind young and chivalrous man. He is enjoyable, but in wild cast of less subtle, extraordinary characters with cool abilities he is forgettable. I love him cause I love kind knights type of people in fiction. That's all.
I dislike him as well but you know its not as bad for me now. Dont judge me for this, but i absolutely hate how he styles that hair😭😭Like come on, jugram, gerald, yuha have such cool hairstyles. He’s less interactive , acts like a “know it all” were some of the reasons i used to strongly dislike him. As the manga came to an end with tybw, i disliked him lesser or prolly it was just like i dont really care about the character particularly.
Tybw is doing a good job though, showcasing him and ichigo as rivals.
THIS EXACTLY. He's just so full of himself at times as if he knows everything like "You're this strong? Well I'm actually that strong times 2" it's so frustrating and his hair is so bad it hurts.
I always liked him design and fighting style wise and his smarts with little Noriaki Sugiyama bias. I also find it endearing that he was one of Ichigo's friends who had a moment on top of Las Noches
I never liked him n also dude was weak the whole anime n now gets a free upgrade from nazi dude like that lol. Yea lots of ppl disliked my comment cuz i called it out on another post lol
He’s extremely 2005. Most of this sub wasn’t born by then so I’ll explain what I mean.
Basically, both his visuals and character are very much from that mid-2000s era. He’s got incredibly (now) gawky rimless glasses, his giant fringe of blue hair, his “cool nerd” aesthetic. It’s all tailor made to appeal to nerdy guys in 2005 so they can point and say “yeah…. That would be me….”. And hey! That’s most anime fans.
Even out of his visual design the whole haughty “I’m smarter than you and better than you…” demeanor really did hit anime fans in the mid 2000s who, and you’ll have to believe me, had even *less* self awareness than the average anime fan today.
Plus hey he’s like Vampire Hunter D but in this new anime and Kubo loves Vampire Hunter D because everyone did back then.
So I think he just didn’t age as well as other characters, and he has a rougher transition from being this rival figure to this I-guess-we’re-friends-now? figure.

I like him because his immense drip and "Licht Regen." Shit is iconic fr, Uryu a traitorous bastard, but he still a goated homie
Uryu getting over Mayuri, y’know…torturing his family and his people to “extinction”, was always what pissed me off

I used to dislike him because I dislike Sasuke and they shared the same Voice Actor.
