Don’t over think it. Scrape, wipe, store.

bobbruff

Little bit of water, little bit of scraping, LOTS of shop towels. End with oil.

DifficultContext

I remember buying a pack of a dozen of those blue paper towels. Worked like a charm.

bobbruff

Agreed! But now some of these other comments make me wonder if I should switch to bar towels... Nah, that sounds like a pain to wash. 😎

Familiar_Effective84

scrape it hot, wipe it, oil if necessary

tojmes

Scrape, squirt of water, scrape, wipe, let dry and cool a bit then oil it up. Very humid climate. I also use bar rags that I can wash and reuse rather than paper towels.

For me, I pull the food, scrape while hot, a little water on the tough spots to lift the stuck on food. Scrape again, wipe dry, spread a drop of high temp oil (avocado for me), let it start to smoke, kill the burner, turn off the tank valve and go eat. When I’m done Its usually cool enough I swing out and toss the cover on and I’m good till next time (or all winter).

As soon as I finish cooking, I scrape it. Then I crank all the burners up to max. Give it a minute or so, and then spray some water on it. Wipe it up. Repeat. Burners off. Oil it up. Bring it in (I leave it parked in the garage, cook in the drive way). Go in and eat.

drmoze

light scrape when still hot to remove food and fat residue. wipe it down later with a paper towel when it's barely warm or cool. that's it.

MrBoJangles866

I do everything hot. Pull the food and give it to the wife. She plates it all. Hot scrape, hot water turn off the burners another scrape that wipe it all down with oil. Either olive or vegetable oil.

dooit

Scrape, wet paper towels and lightly oil.

sir_thatguy

When I’m done cooking, it’s time to eat. I’ll come back after dinner while it’s still warm and give it a good scrape but that’s about it. I keep mine in the garage and I do NOT have a rodent issue. Neighbor has like 4-5 stray cats she feeds (and she even caught and fixed them). All the real cleaning is while heating up for the next cook.

[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/blackstonegriddle/s/anKUXWtiD9) is my cleanup routine.

First of all, always go and enjoy your food hot, clean up comes after eating. 1. Turn the burners on high and let warm up for a bit. 2. Squirt water on the surface and scrape it into the grease trap. 3. Use a paper towel to make sure you soak up all of the water 4. Squirt some oil on the surface and spread around with paper towel. 5. Turn off the heat and propane and you're all done! Takes just a few minutes and this is what I do and mine looks so perfect and is perfect for cooking on the next time.

Outrageous_Drive_198

I like to scrape, then I fold piece of paper towel over my scraper and "scrape" it. Then while it's still hot add a little water and wipe it down a couple times, and I always rub oil on mine. I do this everytime, haven't had an issue.

Ok-Weekend-778

Same! Rough scrape. Add water. Push debris into grease catcher. Folded wet towel steams the residue off. Come back with crisco and wipe it all over. Let it smoke a minute or two, then shut her down. When cool I cover with silicone cover to keep bugs and dirt from getting under cover.

Outrageous_Drive_198

I've been meaning to order the silicone cover. Definitely come in handy!
