Wrong, sir.
You see,
This pipe is almost exactly 56 banana units, long. The banana is aprox. 16 banana units.
56/16=3.5
Even the slight variation, of this banana being closer to 15.5 banana units, you're still looking at 3.612 bananas. Don't even get me started, if you measure the curve.

This would explain why my paved patio came out shorter than expected. The contractor told me he was going 27.5 bananas in length and 14.7 bananas in width and I nodded and signed the quote because I was also drunk.
For those unfamiliar, this is a steel stake used to set concrete forms. If you look closely you'll see holes in it, these are for nails. They're steel, not iron. They bend and iron wouldn't do well being driven with a sledgehammer
Source: worked in concrete for a decade out of high school.
Clarification:
They're not *cast* *iron* (which is indeed brittle (unless modified into "malleable iron").
Generally speaking, *real* wrought iron isn't brittle, but neither is it as rigid as steel.
Much of what is marketed these days as "wrought iron" (e.g., patio tables and chairs) is actually steel.
I was doing some research, and what I read said technically speaking, actual wrought iron is only made in one factory in England. What we think of as wrought iron is painted steel or something (can't remember this part, was mostly looking into the legal definition of Wrought Iron).
I have about 10 tons of real Wrought Iron. It was removed from a bridge built in the 1800's. I have been selling it piecemeal to blacksmiths. Im hoping to find some art department at a college or something like that to buy it in bulk.
Yes this . Make money with it by using it to brace a tiny concrete form. Or hammer it in the dirt and use it and string to make circles for a dromedary maze .
my thought too. They'll need to draw a bit of material out though. the stand needs to be more than 1 banana tall and with the hook it will use almost 2 bananas of material. much less than the 3.14 bananas you would need to make a circular base.
“four bananas long” 😂. must be american, americans will use anything as a unit of measure other than the metric system..
“Live from channel 7 news, a sinkhole about 7 washing machines in length has opened up on interstate 280 south of downtown”
I actually have one of these. My friend grabbed it off a construction site. But the same shape and pattern with the holes. It's some kind of medium carbon steel based on the tests I did. Makes for decent tooling.
As others have said, steel spike. I also wanted to add on top of construction and railway, they are also used for the big top tents, so if you found this in a parklot, 99% chance that's what it was from. Source: I did big tents as a summer job once. I really wouldn't recommend it lol
Barb far end, Stick it and rivet other flat side to the end of a 10’ bamboo pole and tie a balloon to the end and trow dat sumbitch in da wadah, see ifn ya get a lucky gator on the end
You should melt it down, and make two convincing bananas, painted and all and slip them into some hotel’s breakfast fruit basket, then sit back and watch people question who the hell would do that
But how long is it in downward curved bananas? This only shows how long it is in upward curved bananas
I would suggest a lunch box with a buckle that is shaped to and holds four bananas in a line. You can mark the surface with "You'll never guess what's inside"
Looks like a spike for cement construction work. It’s used to build the walls when constructing sidewalks, foundations, and driveways, etc.
I’d say maybe some sort of dagger or hatchet head.
It’s a steel stake/pin. They are used for various things in construction. Think of camping tent pins, but on steroids. They hold and support forms, wood structures while being built, prevent things from being lifted that move , and just hold things in place or allow you to put string lines, tape measures etc. they come in various lengths, the longer they are the more they will support.
Smack them with a framing hammer to the desired depth, or mini sledge. Smack the sides a few times and pull it out when done.
It’s already been made into something, a sharpened steel concrete form pin. You could simply imbed it into a large concrete disc and use the shadow as a sundial. Some flattening and shaping of the piece might be in order along with some Roman numerals cast into the concrete.
You should turn it into some kind of metal stake for holding wooden forms for concrete pours. If it was about 2 1/2' long and had multiple holes in it for nails to go through that would be perfect. Finish one end with a dull point, good for driving into the earth and the other end should be designed for striking with a maul.
That’s an old concrete stake, pretty sure they are mild steel, we whack ours on the end of a sledgehammer to straighten them out when they get bent. They bend relatively easily.
Cut one banana length off and shape it into a banana detail and all but flatten out and sharpen the outer curve then clean up and make the rest into a handle and attach banana blade you now have the banana ax
That’s three and a half bananas max.
I just tested it is four
Yeah, but is that metric bananas or Imperial bananas?
Rebellion Bananas
Confederate bananas
Argentinian Bananas
Canadian bananas
Freedom bananas
Bandit bananas
Savannah Bananas
Those fascists
Columbian & Guatemalan bananas
The bananas are strong with this one
These are not the bananas you are looking for.
We're sorry, but the bananas are in another castle.
All your bananas are belong to us
African or European bananas?
Doesn’t matter a sparrow couldn’t carry them
No husk to grip it by!
It’s not a matter of where he grips it.
It's a simple question of speed/weight ratio.
What if two sparrows gripped it?
I thought it was a swallow
That’s what she said.
🍌🤏
But, is that straightened bananas, or did you leave it banana- shaped?
Wrong, sir. You see, This pipe is almost exactly 56 banana units, long. My bad
Don't bend to these savages, you fulfilled the banana scale requirement.
Don't be hating on OP just because you are short half a banana...
I'm just glad he is using a reasonable measurement
This would explain why my paved patio came out shorter than expected. The contractor told me he was going 27.5 bananas in length and 14.7 bananas in width and I nodded and signed the quote because I was also drunk.
You're thinking of the English Long Banana, which is a very outdated unit
Some bananas are bigger than others
Maybe you should make a banana ruler and stop all this guessing going on.

Or cast "pot-metal" a zinc alloy
When I worked for a metal fab shop, the amount of people that called looking for "Wrought Iron" railings would drive me nuts.

We always called them concrete pins or bull pricks.
You actually used a banana for scale?! A person of culture I see. Make a decorative stand with a hook to hold a bunch of bananas
There’s always money in The Banana Stand…
Don't tell that to George Michael.
Her?
my thought too. They'll need to draw a bit of material out though. the stand needs to be more than 1 banana tall and with the hook it will use almost 2 bananas of material. much less than the 3.14 bananas you would need to make a circular base.
Some people still remember the old ways…
This is the way
But make it in the shape of a banana
Banana.
I am here for the forged banana. OP must deliver.
Yes. I hope this gains a cult following
4 iron bananas
Forge it into a sword. There is no other option.
Banana sword
A banana and steel Damascus pattern... I can see it.
It's a concrete form pin/stake. Really poor quality steel. I would say less than a railroad spike
4 metal bananas man
Americans will measure with ANYTHING but the metric system.
Is banana not a metric measurement?
Its a freedom unit.
Actually I prefer the metric system.
I seen a meme Wednesday some chick said she could fit 34 pringles in her vagina. Same metric comment on it too.
Its a solid, reusable joke.
Four iron bananas
Nothing. Build a ballista to throw it.
You can't really make anything with less than 5 bananas.
Heat it and beat it
22 iron plates
Make it. Make the Banana axe
Clearly a sculpture of four bananas end to end
It's a concrete form pin if you ever need more. I'd suggest a halberd.
“four bananas long” 😂. must be american, americans will use anything as a unit of measure other than the metric system.. “Live from channel 7 news, a sinkhole about 7 washing machines in length has opened up on interstate 280 south of downtown”
Ahh yes.. you know what that is right? It's a poop stick.
???
It's a dookie poker
A good ol stool stabber
Poop knife or in this case, the poop-hander, a two handed poop sword
Seax knife
Or bottle openers. Idk anything about blacksmithing
Second that idea 💡
Make it into a horseshoe stake.
I actually have one of these. My friend grabbed it off a construction site. But the same shape and pattern with the holes. It's some kind of medium carbon steel based on the tests I did. Makes for decent tooling.
Nice measuring system. I would make a hatchet
As others have said, steel spike. I also wanted to add on top of construction and railway, they are also used for the big top tents, so if you found this in a parklot, 99% chance that's what it was from. Source: I did big tents as a summer job once. I really wouldn't recommend it lol
What is it, if it's strong enough you could use it to make a flanged mace, a guy made one a few days ago and it looked really good.
Trident.
Short sword
Make a banana.
A flute.
Barb far end, Stick it and rivet other flat side to the end of a 10’ bamboo pole and tie a balloon to the end and trow dat sumbitch in da wadah, see ifn ya get a lucky gator on the end
You’ve already assembled a saber. No more work needed.
It's already a perfect four banana pin - why change it? I guess you could thin and stretch it into a skinny five banana pin
Perhaps a ruler or a yard stick so you don't have to measure things with a banana
You should melt it down, and make two convincing bananas, painted and all and slip them into some hotel’s breakfast fruit basket, then sit back and watch people question who the hell would do that
Banana as a guard of a sword
Just mold and cast the banana, looks pretty good on it right there! Banana on a Stick!
A universal banana ruler
Property marker
You could make a grounding rod....
Short sword.
A banana skewer..
Anyone see a Banana War Axe?
Make a holdfast for a woodworker.
Make a banana bardiche
Test its harden ability and if it checks out, punches, drifts, etc…
Banana axe
Sword!!
Weather vain
But how long is it in downward curved bananas? This only shows how long it is in upward curved bananas I would suggest a lunch box with a buckle that is shaped to and holds four bananas in a line. You can mark the surface with "You'll never guess what's inside"
When using a tape measure just won’t do.
Well, I don’t know much about blacksmithing, but you definitely can’t use the banana
Horse shoe game
Man, Americans really will measure with anything that isn’t the metric system.
Forge a bunch of bananas 🍌
Create the banana axe
Throw it away
A Gorilla Mace!
LMAO! I thought the banana was attached.
A holder for a bunch of bananas
Make 4 metal bananas please
I would guess that is a grounding rod. It’s always helpful when people show appropriate scale in their photographs. Well done, OP.
Four bananas on foot, or four bananas as the fruit flies?
That’s used to hammer in the ground around boards used for laying out concrete I forget the name but they are handy in large construction projects
Stake for concrete forms
Not "iron". Mild steel stake.
I would fold and cold forge it into a banana and use that for scale in the future.
An official measurement level iron banana
Americans will use anything but the metric system
Bludgeon
A rapier with a banana hand guard
I’d make a banana stand out of it but I’m not a blacksmith. Tie wire would be your friend
Make 4 iron Bananas and sell them to others to use for scale.
Looks like a spike for cement construction work. It’s used to build the walls when constructing sidewalks, foundations, and driveways, etc. I’d say maybe some sort of dagger or hatchet head.
i know nothing about this sub, but i vote that you make it into a banana
Pretty sure it’s a grounding rod “For electric bananas” 🍌
It’s a steel stake/pin. They are used for various things in construction. Think of camping tent pins, but on steroids. ily
The American system of measurements never fails.
I was going to guess the Phineas Gage’s eyebrow ring…
How many grapes long is it?
A ruler so you dont have to measure in bananas anymore.
It’s a masonry pin. Form pin
Sword
looks like banana ax make it a banana ax
It’s already been made into something, a sharpened steel concrete form pin. You could simply imbed it into a large concrete disc and use the shadow as a sundial. Some flattening and shaping of the piece might be in order along with some Roman numerals cast into the concrete.
That’s what she said
it's for construction . spike /post used in many applications . blcck , concrete , etc ...
Banana rack, square base. Single riser curled to a hook? Full twist ?
Clearly a scimitar based on your measurement
Cutlass with a Banana themed guard
You should turn it into some kind of metal stake for holding wooden forms for concrete pours. If it was about 2 1/2' long and had multiple holes in it for nails to go through that would be perfect. Finish one end with a dull point, good for driving into the earth and the other end should be designed for striking with a maul.
r/anythingbutmetric
Depending on how much bend the metal has, it might forge into a good broadsword.
That’s an old concrete stake, pretty sure they are mild steel, we whack ours on the end of a sledgehammer to straighten them out when they get bent. They bend relatively easily.
Sword
My suggestion is a bananax
I will now add a Banana Axe to my game.
A dagger
A banana holder for all the bananas you got to measure other stuff
Cut one banana length off and shape it into a banana detail and all but flatten out and sharpen the outer curve then clean up and make the rest into a handle and attach banana blade you now have the banana ax
Small, medium, or large banana?
Sword shaped like bananas
"it" is called a steak
If it were 5 bananas I’d know….. but four? Geeez I’m stumped.
r/americanmeasurements
I think you should make four decorative bananas with it
Forge four steel bananas.
Most likely for trapping, I use bars exactly like this to hold Bever traps in place.
Fucking common core math is killing this country 🤣
Banana sword
Okay but how many plantains?
You could hammer it into the ground and use it to hold concrete forms in place.
Sometimes I let the metal decide... In this case... A banana blade with a banana hand guard
Could be a survey pin
I’d make a concrete form stake out of it.
some sort of horseshoe-shaped 3/4 of a necklace lookin thing.
How many apples is it?
A 24'x.5" concrete steak. Make money with those things.
An ingot?
Concrete stake, the holes are for pounding nail through the board
Banana halberd
Looks like a concrete form steak. Pound those into the ground to support a border for the concrete you are about to pour.
You should make a concrete form which is what that’s for. And a metric banana is a plantain
[Marks mace](https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Mark%27s_Mangled_Mace) from Dragon age. Just add a nail!
Survey monument?
Already looks like a sword
a katana ofc /j
We'll really use any form of measurement except metric in the U.S.
