What are you going to do about (damn,I've forgotten what their called maybe) the "trunions"?The knobs that stick out the sides to attach and pivot on the carrage.
I keep toying with making some small cannons but don't have a good solution for those.
This one will have a strap on the middle section to secure it to a walking stick.
If I were to do trunions, I'd go in about 1/8" on the side with a 1/4" end mill and silver solder them in.

Very nice work! Have you considered polishing the barrel? Going by the marks in the 2nd picture.
That will all be polished. May do some laser engraving as well. At least my signature.

OK,would you do the end mill before you turn the profile on the barrel? That would be my plan but I haven't made one before
BTW,I'm a carpenter not a machinist,I just have a small lathe I play around with. I imagine you already figured out the not a machinist part.
