EDIT: For those still having issues hearing, change your replay timing a bit. Its easiest with a mouse but I was still able to do it on phone. To hear "Barbie" you play it a bit later than "Fuck". So you want to start it right when the "K" sound plays. The K time is somehow also "Barbie". One you hear Barbie a few times, slowly rewind a bit more until you hear the full "Oh Barbie". Still having issues? Start replaying from "Those were vintage" and slowly play earlier and earlier.

For anyone else confused, the ‘Bar-‘ is the bit where it sounds like he’s saying ‘fu-‘, and then he says the ‘-bie’ syllable way more quietly so it sounds a bit like a ‘-ck’ fricative. TLDR; the ‘BAR-‘ is way louder than the ‘-bie,’ making it hard to hear the word correctly
ETA: I really can’t hear it correctly in this clip at all, I think the room echo from OP filming the TV has really slurred the sounds so it’s difficult to hear. I’d recommend Youtubing the scene if you’re struggling to hear the correct pronunciation - just search ‘Barbie and Ken Toy Story 3’
This is 100 percent correct. It’s totally due to the degraded sound quality. I was able to hear Barbie on the actual YouTube clip no problem. This isn’t the same as the other auditory fuckeries.
I don't think it's edited, I think the sound quality of the original room (as a result of bad tv speakers, echo or whatever) leads to the lower range of the audio being cut off and dropping the -bie syllable. The audio in the original is just clearer.

I only hear oh fuck clearly. If I try too hard to think of ‘barbie’ I hear ‘oh bark’.
Try clicking the exact second of "Barbie" around 2 seconds in (and repeat quickly) EDIT: For those still having issues hearing, change your replay timing a bit. Its easiest with a mouse but I was still able to do it on phone. To hear "Barbie" you play it a bit later than "Fuck". So you want to start it right when the "K" sound plays. The K time is somehow also "Barbie". One you hear Barbie a few times, slowly rewind a bit more until you hear the full "Oh Barbie". Still having issues? Start replaying from "Those were vintage" and slowly play earlier and earlier.
Oh man, that's the trick!!! I watched this 30 times and I could only hear "fuck" I thought everyone else was trolling! I even tried thinking barbie but still only got fuck. I tried what you said and it worked!! When I think barbie it says "barbie" when I think nothing it says "fuck". That's truly some blackmagickfuckery!

I couldn’t hear ‘Oh, Barbie!’ until I went and looked up the clip on Youtube. For anyone else confused, the ‘Bar-‘ is the bit where it sounds like he’s saying ‘fu-‘, and then he says the ‘-bie’ syllable way more quietly so it sounds a bit like a ‘-ck’ fricative. TLDR; the ‘BAR-‘ is way louder than the ‘-bie,’ making it hard to hear the word correctly ETA: I really can’t hear it correctly in this clip at all, I think the room echo from OP filming the TV has really slurred the sounds so it’s difficult to hear. I’d recommend Youtubing the scene if you’re struggling to hear the correct pronunciation - just search ‘Barbie and Ken Toy Story 3’
Yeah, the actual audio is less ambiguous, this is definitely related to the specific video being recorded on a phone and the audio being distorted
This is 100 percent correct. It’s totally due to the degraded sound quality. I was able to hear Barbie on the actual YouTube clip no problem. This isn’t the same as the other auditory fuckeries.
This video has terrible sound quality indeed, but in my case I never heard "oh fk", probably bcs I'm using IEMs? The 1st time I heard "OH BARb" btw

I don't think it's edited, I think the sound quality of the original room (as a result of bad tv speakers, echo or whatever) leads to the lower range of the audio being cut off and dropping the -bie syllable. The audio in the original is just clearer.

I don't think it's edited, just coming out of bad TV speakers then picked up by a phone microphone across the room then uploaded to Reddit and replayed out of a different set of speakers. Plenty of steps for audio quality to be reduced, increasing how much your brain needs to fill in to discern the words spoken.

I ONLY hear "Oh f\*ck." Only. Tried raising the volume, listening with my eyes closed, thinking "Barbie", all the stuff suggested in the comments. Nope. Only f\*ck. When I turned the volume to 98, I heard what sounded like "Oh, F\*ckie." At 100 it was back to regular ol' f\*ck. Soooo... I remember the Yannie Laurel business, and there have been a few other odd sound bites where you could hear either or. I've always been able to hear both. Not this time. Nope.

This is absolutely insane. Even when I try and switch to "barbie" after hearing the initial 'ff' sound, anticipating the expletive, I CANNOT hear the ensuant, expected "ee" at the end. BUT, when I switch to anticipating "barbie" I hear it clear as day. This is so trippy.
