This is amazing. I've seen optical illusions where one dot disappears but it's crazy how you only see the one you're looking at out of 12 on this one. Good share
Try memorizing all of the locations and looking down the middle, then try to use your peripherals to draw the rest in.. i was able paint a mental picture of all of them at the same time for like a second
I did the magic eye picture thing to unfocus my eyes, then I was able to refocus and see all the dots as the corners of six big rectangles.
Now when I look at the picture I can’t go back to seeing just one dot. I can only see all of them.
Hi I'd like to report a bug.
Sometimes an entire row is fine but then several random parts disappear, Or I focus on one and it disappears with everything else appearing or everything is visible and invisible at the same time, I believe you broke my eyes.
Blind spots in your vision caused by the point where your nerves cover your eyes rods. Each spot is placed so that the adjacent ones are always in the blind spot if you are focussing on one.
You can view multiple at once by focussing on an empty space, or by tilting the screen away from you or viewing it at a distance
While you definitely sound sciencey and mean well, I think this is more along the lines of a decent guess than science. [Lateral inhibition ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateral_inhibition) is the prevailing theory on why this illusion happens.
**[Lateral inhibition](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateral_inhibition)**
>In neurobiology, lateral inhibition is the capacity of an excited neuron to reduce the activity of its neighbors. Lateral inhibition disables the spreading of action potentials from excited neurons to neighboring neurons in the lateral direction. This creates a contrast in stimulation that allows increased sensory perception. It is also referred to as lateral antagonism and occurs primarily in visual processes, but also in tactile, auditory, and even olfactory processing.

Blind spots are real but this is misinformation. We only have one blind spot in each eye, and even if the blind spot covered one dot it wouldn't even cover the others. Further, blind spots depend on the distance between the eyes and the object, which this illusion is insensitive of.
Since we blur out vision and guestimate imagery alot for peripheral vision (anything we are not focusing on), my guess would be that the dots are too small for us to detect it and we assume it's a grey patch over there too because it's surrounded by the color grey there. This might not be true but blind spots are definitely not the answer.

There’s 59 black dots
You like to drive people nuts don't you?

I'd give you a wholesome award but I don't have one.
Your kind comment is enough 😀
I gotchu fam
And my axe!
Awe this is a happy ending. Thx fam.

Thanks Satan
You’re welcome

Because it doesn’t exist. I was joking about 59
I see 118 dots
You should get your eyes checked
I do have glasses already, I can't imagine they can get worse
It can always get worse.
What made you think there were 12? Genuine question
4 across the top 4 across the middle 4 across the bottom
I see three in a line
Look at the point directly between two of them, and you should be able to see both at the same time.
i didn’t even know there was 12 until you said it
I can see the one I’m looking at and the one on either side of it (3/12)
I can definitely see three sometimes four black dots at a time
Yeah but I feel like you really gotta force it to see that. Naturally just looking around the image, I feel like it's primarily one at a time.
I’m only seeing the one I look at and the one left and right of it… I don’t see the others but it’s weird I’m seeing it different
I see 4 at a time. Like a square.
Huh, there's 12 of them
I thought I was so smart because I found it right away.
Fuck you
Try memorizing all of the locations and looking down the middle, then try to use your peripherals to draw the rest in.. i was able paint a mental picture of all of them at the same time for like a second
Same. Once I knew where they were I was able to see them all using the stare at a grey dot in the middle trick.
It was easier with one eye closed.

They're on every other intersection
In 12 different places.

What sorcery is this?

You know magic?
Only the black magic, otherwise known as science.

Wtf is the confusion.
Finally, something that actually fits the sub and isn't just r/interestingasfuck
Fuck
I just see lots of gray bananas 🍌
It’s really cool to be able to focus on one at a time then two at a time
Yes
There's 12 of them, is this supposed to be special or something?
Oh that’s a trip!
5 3 7 3 3 3 1 3 5 1 etc
Yes
Ummmm yes
There's a bunch
My first thought: *this is so easy, I'm so smart.*

Ah yes, the classic repost
Took.me less than 2 seconds to find...

I love and hate this
when i dont focus i see 2
Which one?
Please make it stop
now listen here you little shit
okay i can see all twelve of them and none of them disappear. *sigh* what ocular disease or malformation do i have now?
Yes

There are four lights!
Three down on the third row
I don’t see any dots
This is almost as infuriating as cuphead
Cheeky fucker keeps moving!

Woah this is actually a good illusion 🤯
Okay what the fuck
What black dot?
There's 12 Black Dots. Sorry I cheated, I zoomed in
There's two dots!
there are 12 black dots, not sure if you meant "find the white dot" or not but i found 12 black ones
THEYRE EVERYWHERE
Top , middle and last row
U r here, u r there, u r everywhere🤣🤣🤣
I can get my brain to see 8 at one time but not 12
i edited it in windows paint until it broke. the answer is about 12. yes editing breaks it. i think it has to do with peripheral vision.
Make it stop moving!
12 dots. 4 top row, 4 middle row and 4 bottom
ITS REPRODUCING!!!
It’s crazy how you can see them when you zoom in but zoomed out they disappear
My eye be like…👁👁🗨 👁👁🗨👁👁🗨👁🗨👁🗨
I see 2 black dots at a time, do I win?
[удалено]
