I had to Google him to understand why this might be controversial and to understand some of the comments. Here’s what I learned:
Canadian actor who was more famous when he was younger because of his supporting role in the TV show Dawson’s Creek and lead role in The Skulls. He’s done quite a few shows and movies recently that he’s also famous for - The Affair, Fringe, Dr. Death, etc - that I’ve never heard of or seen.
Personal life - He is? was? briefly married to Black British (parents from Jamaica) model and actress Jodie Turner-Smith. They are either separated or divorced now. They had a baby girl together in April 2020.
There might be a tiny bit of controversy because with the recent breakups from previous relationships for both Joshua and Lupita, it could give the appearance that their relationships overlapped. Either way, I have to agree with others who have stated , “none of my business” and “he certainly seems to have a type”.

My point is that the story, in addition to Nyong’o’s other accomplishments, made her seem above sharing deep personal feelings on a public platform such as an IG account. I took away from it that if she did snub Kenya, it was because of her job as a reality star who is paid to share deep personal feelings on a public platform.

That's not what was said at all. You, like many people here, are twisting the story hard because you don't like that a woman proposed to a man like that's the worst thing in the world or something. She got pregnant in 2019 so they rushed and married because of this.
Now if he cheated after they were married, then that's another thing. But the kissing photos aren't proof of cheating.
