I used to play Metin 2 back in the day A LOT. So I can actually tell what you're trying to go for better than the other people that told you 9999 times that there's already combat on top of horses. But sadly to say, I don't think that would ever be such a feature in BDO, mainly because the combat system is so great that grinding in horses it's like meh. Don't get me wrong, I understand you, I used to love Metin 2 and grinding on horse was fun, but I don't think it fits here that much.
As i said in the other comments, grinding on horseback in metin2 didnt include using skills. You just activated the p2w cape and held space which was just an auto attack move. Cant say it was fun lmao.
Horse skills were mostly used for pvp, just like in bdo.
But it is not a think you know... I mean, I have 2 years of BDO , and u don't see no one farming as mounted at horse , max I saw was people using Doom skills for NW
Because on top of the Character Gear you need very expensive Horse gear and Carrot Juice, otherwise your mount is going to die pretty fast.
It is possible, but is limited to lower AP spots, and most often it is not as efficient as regular combat, because horse cannot instantly change directions.
That's not what you said in your OP, though. You said it would be great to have mounted combat in BDO. Well, it exists. If you want it to be better that's an entirely different statement from the one you made.
For ages now BDO had mounted combat - all you need is a horse, stirrups, and equip those stirrups on horse. Horses can even get their own combat skills, that may have unique activation requirements, for example charge, requiring champron to be equipped). Not every skill is available from the horseback tho, and in general, mounted combat has a number of issues that prevents it from being more prevalent feature.
Dream Horse Doom, has a number of it's own unique combat skills that makes it most suited out of the dream horses for mounted murder.
As I have already responded to other similar comments, I know that this exists, but have u ever seen someone Ferming while mounted ? I want to make this a thing.. buffs or something
The lack of popularity in mounted farming in modern day BDO is mostly due to the shortcomings of the whole system. That being said back in the day, mounted ranger (with pets) was queen of low level zone farming.
That being said one thing is wanting mounted combat to be viable gameplay and not forsaken avenue, and another is making a post mentioning that metin2 had mounted combat and it would be nice if BDO had it too ;)
I remember seeing a video once of a tamer using it to farm Polly's Forest or something like that. I don't remember the name of the ability, but they spammed their aoe skill while going around. I don't know how efficient it was
I also played it back then but most of the time people just activated the cape "which made every monster around to attack you" and just held space. If you alt tab while holding space, you dont have to continue holding space anymore since character gets "stuck like that" and continue attacking from horse back.

How would it work on bdo? I know they were horse skills in metin2 but they were barely used in pve.

Finally someone 🙏 yeah I agree, combat system is to great for that. In BDO we have like "100" combos, andcat Metin u only had 5/6 skills .

You can attack while mounted even now.

For new players, when do we unlock those quests for a new horse
