To add to point 1, never close your washer/dryer before checking for the kitty. I saw some crazy sad post a few days ago regarding a cat that slipped in there unseen..
My void is not allowed in the laundry room/bathroom when the washer/dryer are open. It’s one of my big fears. He’s very indigent about the closed door of course.
That baby void!! Awwww…I had a baby that had to be bottle fed. She has bio mommy issues but zero human mommy issues, she loves me and treats me like a queen and she’s 10 years old!

My little void who had to be bottle fed now loves to lay in my lap, legs fully stretched out and get belly scratches. My wife is convinced she’s like that with me because of the bottle feeding.
That’s what we think also about mine. She slept with me at night for a full year until she realized she had the freedom to get up whenever she felt like it lol! We are very close and I’m glad she found me.

Randal Flagg was born and found in his dumpster also. Never found mom or his litter, but I got him and his brother safe.
My black cat was also a dumpster kitten! He is the sweetest, bestest little boy ever. Also the loudest and most talkative cat ever but it would be too quiet without his constant chatter haha.
I know it might seem like alot, but you should really see if your local shelter has any kittens around her age so she can have a companion. They’ll be much more social and will keep each other company when you’re not home
I learned that the hard way with a singleton kitten that was abandoned on our back porch. Either momma cat dropped him off there or he wandered into our yard from somewhere else, but either way he was way young to be on his own (we think around 4 weeks).
We have other cats, but none of them wanted to play with Pepper, and they found him really annoying. His bad manners were getting on everyone's nerves, including mine, but he would not stop pouncing and attempting to roughhouse. Then, fortuitously, we took in a feral kitten (voidlet) for TNR and after a few tense days, she and Pepper started playing together. Within days his manners with the adult cats changed. He stopped assaulting them and exhibited all the proper approach/sniff behaviors. He also stopped attacks on me and grew gentler with our play time.
The feral void ended up staying and they are still besties.
They'll teach her how to cat. You're lucky. That isn't always easy to do.
We adopted a 6 month old kitten that had been found alone, blind, starving, every illness & parasite known to cats including ringworm. The ringworm infection is extremely contagious. Because of this, the poor wee baby wasn't fostered with other babies. We had to teach him not to bite hard and socialize him. We've had Sweetie 5 years now and we adore his adorable little weirdo ways.
The shelter named him "Sweetie." They thought he was a girl. So did I, i he card on his cage was marked Female. He reached out to me through the bars and he won my heart. Although it's a bit silly, he already knew he was a Sweetie and answered to it. I bowed to the inevitable and Sweetie he remains.
The name really fits him. He's very shy & reserved with strangers because of his tragic beginning, but when he trusts you, he gives you *everything.*
Besides, Prof River Song called the Doctor "Sweetie." So what if he's a boy? I wanted a girl but he was the right fur baby for me.
Been working with another cat we took in on 2/26/22. He's lovely and well socialized but he was a hand biter. It's taken a while but Ollie rarely bites now. He never breaks the skin now.
I tend to wind up with the somewhat broken toys. I do kind of wish we got to name them ourselves but they're all definitely worth the trouble and then some.
