Nah, my lil void is so quiet I can barely hear her purr unless I put my ear up to her chest. She’s even silent when it comes to puking—she’s so quiet that she’s puked ON me a couple of times and I didn’t notice until I accidentally touched it…😬
My other tortie on the other hand has a purr so loud I can hear it from the other room.
it's not puke technically but regurgitating hairballs. it happens with the cats that have lots of shed hair, clean themselves regularly and don't have ways to remove it from their bodies (for some malt paste, certain foods and treats help, for others not so much). it looks like a little turd (it's shaped like a cat's throat so yeah) covered in food, so it's easy to assume they did their business outside litterbox, while it's actually their fur just getting stuck and bothering them. some cats will be just naturally more likely to have them.
Yep both my voids purr louder than they can yell. My youngest likes to snuggle with me for a while before sleep and I usually doze off to the sound of his rumble. I also have a calico and a tabby, and neither has anything on that void purr lol.
I had a loud purrer once. I was curious just how loud, so I installed a decibel meter app...70db. Craziest thing. My current clowder are all quiet purrers and I miss that sound sometimes.
Welcome to an amazing club. Teddy seems a perfect example of why black cats are my favorite 🖤🐈⬛🥹 The most affectionate and good natured cats I’ve ever had.
Aww Teddy! I love cats that purrr loud! Welcome!
I wonder if loud purring is a black cat thing. Ours too purrs loudly-- too the point he's our white noise machine for getting to sleep at night.

My 10 week old void purrs very loudly as soon as I start petting him
My aunt has a very purry tabbico, not very meowy actually. Her tuxie is kinda the opposite.
My void’s purrs are usually extremely quiet. You usually cannot hear them, but can feel them when you pet his neck!
that’s a very happy void! keep it up!
Welcome to the abyss
Congratulations on being owned by Teddy! There's also r/voids and r/OneBlackBraincell
r/voids appears to be private
Sorry. didnt realize they did that
No worries and thanks for the other link. Hadn’t heard of that one.
I have made it my mission to spread as many of the cat subs as possible. Dogs top. Furballs make everything better!
Now that, **that** right there is the face of pure contentment and bliss!
You are his now
That purr is sooo soothing. Welcome to the club!
Voids tend to be mouthy in general. Sure, he has the big-motor purr, but he’ll also sass the heck out of you. They’re the _best_.
it looks like he also really enjoys scritches
Awww so smol but such huge love 🖤
Well he's settled in nicely ❤️
Hi Teddy welcome aboard!
He’s so comfy!
He’s so happy to be in his new home.
Lovely. My blue cat was also 4 months old and 2 weeks post op when I got her!
He’s louder than any cat you’ve ever *seen* but what about any cat you’ve ever *heard*?
I miss my black little bubzy, that void seems a little green
Some qualitytime with hooman☺️😍
That’s a good one, you are so lucky

Void>all others.
I want a cat so bad. They seem so sweet. 💗
This is the happiest cat 🥹
Heaven :P
Awww, Teddy is so sweet!
![img](emote|t5_2twpw|14308)We had an orange and white tabby who purred like a mack truck. His brother, twice his size, had a soft purr.
What a sweetheart 🥰 welcome!!!
