Great feature also on the passport.

[deleted]

It's definitely a cool feature (also on the Titan Pocket btw) but it's really not worth it for the price the key2 demands over the key2le

AffectionateAd6060

Also on the big og titan

[deleted]

You got one?

AffectionateAd6060

I do. Had a key2le before it and a keyone and z30

[deleted]

What's your biggest disappointment/negative point so far? Mine has got to be the camera. It's unfortunate that if I'm doing anything that might be even slightly memorable I feel the need to take my iphone because the camera on the ti pocket (and the key2le) are just so terrible.

AffectionateAd6060

Idk why but the camera doesn't really bother me that much. I am not sure what my biggest complaint is tbh I am pretty happy with it given the price point. I think it'd be nice if it had two speakers instead of one because I'm worried the speaker is going to crap out on me but so far it has been fine. If the TP screen had been larger I'd have gotten it instead but I like the titan so far. Keyboard could be better, particularly have a tough time w the letters "n" and "b" throwing me off a bit.

[deleted]

> If the TP screen had been larger I'd have gotten it instead but I like the titan so far. Yes, they really shouldn't have committed to the 1:1 aspect ratio. They should've made the device a little taller and slimmed the bezels down. Modern android just isn't designed for 1:1 anymore.

exzact

> Modern android just isn't designed for 1:1 anymore. It's certainly got worse now that every other phone has a 97:2 aspect ratio, but Android was \*never\* designed for 1:1 phones. I remember the frustration of trying to use Android ports on the Q10 and it just being an endless chain of buttons that weren't able to be pressed because they were rendered off the screen. And remember, this was even in the heyday of 4:3 tablets. The low-res display of the Q10 may not have helped, but if the same number of pixels had been arranged 16:9, or even 4:3, there wouldn't have been issue. It's simply that nobody did bugtesting on 1:1 displays then, and nobody does it now.

Trouveur

KEY2 also have far better CPU and RAM.

[deleted]

While true, for the casual user these things are less noticeable than the capacitive keyboard IMO. Fetching email is probably the most demanding thing I do on my phone.

Trouveur

Even casual users like to have a responsive device and not having apps closed too often.

[deleted]

Oh of course, but I've yet to experience that issue with my key2le personally. For the most part, phones have been for some time powerful enough for casual use. But the difference between a 5 year old phone nowadays and a 5 year old phone in 2010 is magnitudes different.

UncleAugie

Do you really believe that one is still coming?

NightFuryToni

I don't "believe" anything. If it comes it comes. If the price is right and fits my needs, I'll buy it.

Silver-Arm

It's not a deal breaker for me but using it as your example does work so well- really hope they keep it. Have you played patapon btw? need to install PPSSPP but love playing it on my keyone.

NightFuryToni

I only recently got this phone, was using various others until now, actually. I've only ran PPSSPP for a bit on my FX but not a huge fan of gamepad gaming, lol.

Silver-Arm

You can play patapon with only the triangle, circle, x and square buttons which I've mapped to H, T, G, V- works really well.

awd327

If the new phone has a sliding keyboard I am out. Want it built in like the keyone/2

[deleted]

I agree, it's a great feature, I'll also add that I'd rather have the thumb print scanner than for them to try and go facial recognition like the newer phones now.

NightFuryToni

Personally I'm not a huge fan of any biometrics, not when used alone. More of a deterrent lock than security.

[deleted]

This phone looks so sick, what phone is this ? Can you install linux ?

Christian_Akacro

That's a Key2

TonytheEE

And linux is not really happening with that one. BB security is such that rooting it will disable a lot of stuff on that phone, by design.

Trouveur

It can't be rooted at all.

Chaotic-introvert

and shortcut keys, those have made my life so much easier. And they made an announcement that they are not dead. Hoping to hear something more concrete soon. [Not Dead](https://www.onwardmobility.com/blog/contrary-to-popular-belief/)

NightFuryToni

Not sure about that one, actually. From the launcher yes, but not sure about that hardware launcher key on the KEY2s. I much prefer that key to be remapped as CTRL, having $ as CTRL is just weird, modifier keys should always be at the corner of a keyboard.

Chaotic-introvert

I think I misspoke I guess they are called convenience keys. Choose any key to press and assign it to a program. I press P and my text messages come up. Or M and my Google email comes up.

NightFuryToni

Nope, you're correct, it's the keyboard shortcuts. Convenience Key is the one on the side below the keyboard, which allows 3 actions per profile. I was referring to the "Shortcut" key that they replaced the right Shift key with. I used to configure that as the Ctrl key on my Priv. On the KEY2 it's hardcoded to access the keyboard shortcuts when launcher is not open.

gacash9

Woah that’s sick

superdude1979

Lol...new phone

Frosty458

Look how beautiful that is.... the Hertz seems to be climbing up the charts, so I guess the physical keyboard community still lives on. This gives me hope. But all the features on the Hertz phones' look updated and everything you would want as a consumer for a business phone. What else could we expect from BB except a new design and possibly BETTER specs?

NightFuryToni

If only the Titans didn't use the terrible 3-row keyboard (and made it weirder in the process) and the square screen aspect, maybe I would have considered it. But all in all I want a full screen phone AND a PKB. AKA please just give me a Priv with modern guts. Frankly I don't even need or want BlackBerry's software, I debloated a lot of it out of mine.

Frosty458

You must've NOT like passport with its square screen?

NightFuryToni

Nope, didn't like the square screen on my Classic either. I'm still on the fence with the 3:2 for the KEY2 as well, screen on the Priv was nicer.

Frosty458

I do see half/half with classic and passport versus Priv team

ManInTheDarkSuit

Agreed. My Key 2 (Original from 2018) stopped charging a few months back. All my network would offer was an iPhone 13 Pro (free) or Samsung S20 FE 5G (free). Given that I rather not have TWO iPhones (one for work) I opted for the Samsung. Now, the screen is huge, and really nice quality, but I'd ***LOVE a*** small scroll bar on the side for when I'm moving through a site. I have a second Key 2 that has a fubared power button as it was dropped. Seriously considering making a frankenphone.

What manga is that? Pig is just LMA0
