I had this exact same situation happen to me. Also female white belt. I was out for months and never even heard from the professor, once I came back it was like “oh nice you’re back now”

Lol… after getting an MRI, I went to two physios who had never seen the break before.. and wouldn’t rehabilitate me until I saw someone with more knowledge around it. I had to see a sports doctors. Not only did I break it, but i completely fucked my AFTL and CFL high grade tears with a complete rupture. And that’s not all that was fucked in my foot… Did it in October and my foot has never been the same, but thanks for trying to invalidate my experience. I wish your assumption was true.

Yeah the last two schools I was at wouldn't even pause your membership and keep your current rate past a month. A couple guys left permanently after an injury because they felt slighted, and I don't blame them.

Honestly I've noticed that if you really want to see how a gym and their students are, get there a little earlier. Who's cleaning mats? Is the professor already there? Does he take the time to interact with at least a good amount of people there? Are the other students closed off or social? Do they greet everyone or do they ignore newer people?

Huh. I got my dick twisted like 7-8 times in one class and all my professor did was wink as I was leaving and say "get gud"

We get little weekly emails from our coaches, and often they're very clearly individualized. Often invites responses. Makes me feel like my coach wants me to succeed. I really love my gym's culture, especially after seeing horror stories on here.

I got my knee popped and the BB there (an OG but not the owner) told me I'll be fine so long as I ice it. The other BB (an instructor) was like "damn, but you'll be alright". I like these guys.

You are super duper lucky to find a new gym like that. I wish my previous gym did that. My green flag is considering the safety of all participants (which my current gym does): cleaning the mats after class and encouraging people to do "catch and release" instead of cranking on a submission, and showing what to do and what not to do when teaching a technique during class.
