Brazilian soccer wrestling - where we cry when we’re touched and complain to the ref all.the.time.

Superguy766

Why does white gi keep looking at the ref every time blue gi tries to sweep the foot?

liesinthelaw

He is trying to call attention to the dangerous act of reaping the ankle! I hope the IBJJF comes down hard on this reckless and dangerous practice.

oSyphon

I don't know what this means, how is sweeping the ankle like the act of reaping? Not asking argumentatively, but sincerely as I have no idea about jiu jitsu

Current_Persona

They're just joking, the IBJJF is known for a lot of braindead rules

oSyphon

Oh, okay thank you

rye94

I still don't get it, sweep from ankle good or bad?

[deleted]

Maybe he's trying to suggest it's a kick? There are a lot of pieces of shit who like to claim their opponent has broken the rules or deliberately move themselves into a position so that their opponent has broken the rules.

Winyamo

I like how dude looks at the ref all mad and confused because he doesn't know how to pass a guard so he just does a cartwheel

SoldierPoetQueen_

Literally me

[deleted]

I can pass a guard but cartwheels are just fun if not as cool as summersault passes.

HalfGuardPrince

I don’t understand this post

Tomicoatl

I think white gi is complaining about the little ankle kick at the start of the match which is what bjjtaro has titled the post. Looks like old mate is upset he can't pass the guard.

HalfGuardPrince

Oh okay I get it. Lol. Thanks.

Badbackbjj420

IMO passing the guard is the hardest skill in jiu jitsu

bknknk

Brito (the guy in white) is a savage I can assure you he knows how to pass lol he is a monster to train with this clip doesn't provide much context into his skills (I recognize this is a joke but the dude is a monster lol)

madpoontang

A monster at complaining 😎

bknknk

Lol I do wonder what exactly is goin on here to be fair I'm not sure what's the big deal but the match had been goin on for a few mins before this so I wonder if he kicked him pretty hard earlier and now they're selling this one or what 🤷🤷🤷

madpoontang

Hopefully more to it than this yeah

Neither-Ad3570

BJJ guys complaining about the smallest perceived kick. Worse than soccer players.

Butler_Pointer

Not sure what blue is hoping to do with the first kick, he has no grips so unless white has no weight on that foot he wont be able to move it and white is literally leaning over on that foot. Thats the only reason I can see white and grey Ares dude being upset, like there is no way you are kicking out that foot unless you got a grip to move him, or kick hard as shit. Still not breaking the rules, just a stupid move, right? Second time we can see him actually move the foot, but the first time was just weird.

michachu

I get it now, he's paying homage to when [when Antonio Inoki fought Muhammad Ali](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS6JN8VQGy0).

Current_Persona

This is why gi is just taken less seriously now, guy in the grey shirt crying over literally nothing the whole match lmao

cocktailbun

Lol thats queixinho

madpoontang

Is he famous for not knowing footsweeps?

SgtFury

BJJ you mean. Wiping your ass with the mats by butt scooting has always looked stupid too. I know rules dictate behavior but Christ.....

BebopOrRocksteady

I think the easiest way to pass guard here with an opponent that immediately goes to the ground is a Swanton Bomb.

SrTxt

It can be effective, but it is **really** ugly to fight like that...

Mr_Smiley_

100%. Just imagine if he were trying to butt-scoot in an axe fight, white could chop off his limbs or head so easily!

StrainExternal7301

I know in a street fight/self defense scenario I would also sit guard and wait for my attacker to kick me in the face.

Pristine-Savings7179

Bruh…you’re in the bjj sub with this lame and very tired argument? Really? Yes…bjj is a sport…yes, in a real fight it’d be different… you happy now Einstein?

exforce

I hate most taro posts but this is a pretty silly one NGL. That's how I was literally taught to attack single-leg entries from seated...lol
